Splatober day 1. What's new, player?
What's new? Nothing much.
Found a splatober prompt list on twitter. Will try to at least do simple little doodles.
Hello, this is a longshot saving life call, I am Purity Sikuku Samir from Gaza. I am here to request for your support to help get my insulin, just an injection for today to save my life please I beg. I was diagnosed with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes and due to the current situation in Gaza I'm unable to get my insulin injection as a result I'm here begging for little financial support to help me purchase insulin for this week. My donation link is attached in the pinned post, I might have sent this ask to you earlier but kindly consider donating and sharing. This is the only option I have at the moment to save my life from going into a coma.
earlier today mohammed @save-mohamed-family was telling me that he is worried for the winter and needs to buy a stronger tent before it starts getting cold. can you imagine the experience of being outside 24/7 with no shelter, no running water, no belongings, just a tent to protect you? can you imagine experiencing that for almost an entire year? i think a lot of us underestimate exactly how uncomfortable and exhausting it is to live in this condition with no reprieve.
help him afford a new tent that will protect him and his family as the winter approaches. he said stronger tents can cost $1500 to $2000, or more.
i've made more posts about mohammeds campaign here and here, but his entire immediate family besides his wife and kids were killed in the war already. please help him and his family survive this genocidal war. i really feel that we all have an obligation to the palestinian people because of the complicity of the entire world in this genocide. if you cant donate please share this with someone who can, every donation helps. collective participation is what really moves these fundraisers along
"what use is it to be an illustrator of children's books when the world has sentenced the children of your country to the death penalty, to vanish, to genocide?"
some of baraa's illustrations:
this is an illustration for youssef, whose mother is remembered running desperately into the hospital asking if anyone had seen a "small white boy with beautiful curly hair, his name is youssef," a description which was remembered by millions when she finally identified his body:
this illustration is for young omar, who was hugging his little brother and teaching him how to repeat the shahada after him (a prayer spoken by muslims before their death) as he lay on his hospital bed:
"we want a new year that doesn't kill us or our children, we want it a year without blood, without screaming, without pain, we want a new attempt to get our lives back, or something that resembled our life, even if life is a lie we still cling to it, return life to us—a new year's card unlike any other year:"
please keep sharing fundraisers. please. while we remain safe in our communities and homes and so many other places, constant fear and danger and genocide continues to strike in gaza.
