Blurred Lines
Maryjane Olpendo
The film “Sana Dati” is a love story about a woman named Andrea whose wedding is cast into confusion when a mysterious guy, Dennis arrives and suddenly reminds her deceased lover. The movie is directed by Jerrold Tarog, he is also the one who wrote, edited, arranged the music, and produced it in partner with Jose Mari Abacan and Daphne Chiu and with the help of Cinemalaya and Metric films. Paulo Avelino, Lovi Poe, TJ Trinidad and Benjamin Alves are the main actors/actresses of the movie. And Mackie Galvez serves as the cinematographer. The movie was released in July 27, 2013 at Cinemalaya and September 25, 2013 in the Philippines.
The story goes like this, Andrea is about to marry someone which she doesn’t love. In the day of her wedding a mysterious videographer arrives without knowing that the guy is her former lover’s brother. They get a chance to talk to each other for a long time and their conversation made Andrea more confused about things. But at the end, Andrea realized that it’s time for her to move on from the past and look forward on what’s next.
The actors really act from their heart and they are not exaggerating every scenes or acts and lines. They are really great actors. Lovi Poe as Andrea Gonzaga gives the best out of her; she really captivates heart whenever she shows her emotion through her eyes and movements. Paulo Avelino as Dennis Cesario is great because he acts his role very well as a mysterious guy. TJ Trinidad as Robert Naval is amazing because he acts naturally, it seems like he is not acting in the big screen but in real life. And Benjamin Alves as Andrew Cesario played his role right, because the role as a loving boy really fits him.
What I like most about the movie is that it is not that hard to understand it even if it has many flashbacks and the actors are great, their acting is natural. What I don’t like is that the movie appears to me like a little bit boring because I didn’t feel any excitement about whatever happens next. When it comes to the cinematography, it is good, the shots are really great and it captures all things that are needed, from the actor down to the backgrounds. Its sound effects are really good, the music sings the actors feelings, it is like an actual situation, and it is like we belong on the movie.
The lesson I learned about the movie is that let us don’t forget about the past and all things that happened because those are the things that made us stronger and braver. But let us give more importance on what is here, the present, because the present will be our way to the future. Don’t let the darkness in the past hold you until now but let it be an inspiration or motivation to see the light again. Something might stretch out over a distance but another time is yet to come.
The movie does not just talk about love itself but it shows us the deeper meaning of love. This movie is highly recommended for those who want to know the real thing about loving age 20 above. The movie gives some examples of real life challenges and how are we going to conquer it. If you want something meaningful, then go watch this movie.
I give these movie five stars. For a job well done!

Light Beyond Darkness
Maryjane C. Olpendo
In life I’ve been experienced so much pain
That let me think that life was unfair
These things pushed me down to the darkness
And let me live my life in emptiness.
There are times that I feel like I’m useless
Trying to think but sure I’m brainless
Because I am the one who knows nothing
Hoping that someday I will learn something.
I’m waiting for someone who really cares
That will lift me up from my despair
But I realized that someone has always been there
I am just the one who don’t really care
I am talking about the one up above
Who answered the questions I kept too hard
He is the one that I really need
That in my life will take a lead.

BELIEVE ME NOT
Fake news refers to false information that is published even if it is really far away from the truth, nowadays this is really a big problem of our society. Since almost all people have a social media like facebook, twitter, tumblr etc. They can tell everything that they wanted even if they are telling lies. So we needed to criticize all those information first before believing it. We can see or read articles everywhere. So we must identify if that page is really trusted. We must think before we believe.
One of the fake news that was really popular right now here in the Philippines is Mocha Uson’s post. Here are some fake news that Mocha Uson posted. Mocha shared a post which claimed that a young girl was murdered due to the drug problem in the Philippines however, the photo was of a nine-year-old Brazilian girl who was raped and murdered in 2014.When protests started due to Marcos burial the high school students from St. Scholastica’s College were part of it, Mocha then shared a post, accusing the school of forcing the students to rally, this was then disproved by the college and the students who were part of the protests. Mocha asked for prayers for the soldiers fighting the Maute Group in Marawi. It seemed like a sincere post of soldiers kneeling and praying. But netizens later pointed out that the soldiers in the photo weren’t Filipino they were from Honduras. There’s a lot of fake news everywhere but there are ways on how are we going to reveal the truth. Don’t let some things blind us. Open our minds and let us be wise.
Anyone can say anything anytime even if they really don’t know what are they talking about and they might exaggerate things. We might find it hard distinguishing what is real but there are ways. Know some sources that are credible. Know if things are worth to share or not. Some news might appear true but all things nowadays are very deceiving. We must think critically and don’t ever spread something that is not proven. Let us don’t fake realities. Let us don’t fill our minds with lies. We must know what is real. We must stick on what is right.
