Ecommerce SEO - Get Traffic to Your Online Store [Top 4 Factors]
in this video I'm going to show you how to get more traffic to your e-commerce site specifically you're going to see the four most influential ranking factors that go into ranking your online store to the top of Google these are the same ranking factors that one of my students recently used to dramatically increase his ecommerce sites organic traffic i'm brian dean the founder of backlinko the place where marketers turn for higher rankings and more traffic and if you want to learn how to quickly get more traffic and customers to your ecommerce site make sure to watch the rest of this video a student of mine darren de Matos recently decided to launch his first e-commerce site de camping and survival gear store top-spec us calm like many e-commerce entrepreneurs darren was a new player in a super competitive industry most people in his position would just create a bunch of product pages and hope for the best please get traffic please get traffic please get traffic but Darren knew that ecommerce SEO would make or break his site success so we focused on the four rocky factors that I'm about to show you and organic traffic to his most important product in category pages increased across the board sometimes as much as two hundred and fifty nine percent now they've seen how well these four ranking factors work it's time for me to show you exactly what they are and how you can take advantage of them okay let's kick things off with e-commerce SEO ranking factor number one domain Authority here's the deal it's no secret that the quantity and quality of the backlinks pointing to your site is Google's top or a key factor and yes this also applies to e-commerce websites the question is how can you get someone to link to your site if it's made up of a hundred percent product in category pages the short answer you can't the fact is people want to link to sites that have valuable content without that you're going to have a hell of a time building whitehat backlinks that's the bad news the good news is that even ecommerce sites can publish awesome content when you do you'll build up your site's overall domain Authority which will help your product in category pages ranking Google in fact ecommerce Giants like Amazon very rarely have links pointing directly to their product pages instead they rank based on their site wide link Authority for example when Darrin first launched top-spec us he created a high value roundup post called pistol shooting tips from 20 sharpshooters and because this post attracted quality backlinks it increased his site's domain Authority which boosted the rankings of one of his important category pages heavy-duty bags by 259 percent the bottom line use content marketing to increase your e-commerce sites overall domain Authority that boost in domain Authority will increase the rankings of your product and category pages next up we have a ranking factor that's super important product page optimization if you're like most ecommerce site owners a good chunk of your search engine traffic goes to your product pages but more importantly a hundred percent of your conversions come from your product pages in other words the more traffic you get to your product pages the more money you'll make the question is how do you optimize your product pages for SEO it's simple use this four step action plan first add modifiers to your product page title tags now you obviously want to use your target keyword in your title tag but don't stop there adding what I call modifiers to your title tag can help you rank for dozens of long tail searches for example let's say the target keyword for your product page is noise cancelling headphones instead of making your title tag simply noise canceling headphones at headphones or us com you'd add a word or two that people are likely to use when searching for that keyword here are some common terms that people use when searching for products in Google so your title tag could be something like this the words best and cheap our title tag modifiers and these terms will help you naturally show up for long tail searches that contain those words next you want to add magnet words to your title I see very few people optimizing their title tags for click-through rate and it's a huge mistake after all Google has stated that they use CTR in their algorithm and even if they didn't use CTR it still makes sense to optimize your title tag with CTR in mine why because higher CTR means more clicks which means more traffic which means more sales fortunately you can easily boost your CTR by adding these magnet words to your product and category page title tags here's an example of these magnet words in action now it's time for on-page tip number three which is to include at least a thousand words of content on your most important product pages industry studies have found that longer content tends to rank better in google and yes these findings also apply to ecommerce sites the fact is this google wants to understand what your page is all about and when you provide lots of content to Google you help them do just that plus when you publish on content your customers can help understand what they're about to buy so it can increase conversions - now you're probably not going to have time to write a thousand words of content for every product page on your site that said I highly recommend writing long product descriptions for your 10 most important product pages for example this Amazon product page for a kitchen art mixer boasts 2109 words now it's time for our last product page optimization tip which is to include your target keyword three to five times let me be clear here this has nothing to do with keyword density or keyword stuffing it's simply making sure your keyword appears on your page so Google understands what your page is all about for example if your target keyword was six quart crock pot you'd want to make sure you have that exact phrase in your product description at least three times now it's time for a third ranking factor which is your website architecture site architecture or how the pages on your site are organized and arranged is an important SEO consideration for any site but it's twice as important for e-commerce websites that's because your average ecommerce site has a lot more pages than your average blog or local pizza shop website with that many pages it's critical that your site architecture makes it easy for users and search engines to find the most important pages on your site the secret following the golden rule of e-commerce site architecture keep every page three or fewer clicks from your homepage for example take a look at this sites architecture what's wrong with this picture the site architecture is way too deep most ecommerce sites tend to get the most links and therefore authority to their homepage and when you have a deep site architecture that authority is diluted by the time it reaches your product in category pages in this example it takes six clicks to reach the first product page so what's the solution make sure your products are no more than three clicks from your homepage Petsmart sets up their site with this rule in mind for example let's say that you want to get a new dog food bowl for fluffy you'd head to the site's homepage and click the dog link then click bowls and feeders and you'd have a list of products in that subcategory just like that you found what you want and Google can easily find and index all the pet smarts product pages now it's time for our last google ecommerce ranking factor URL length i recently teamed up with a bunch of SEO software companies to conduct the largest search engine ranking factor study ever in total we analyzed a million google search results so what are we fine we discovered that short urls tend to rank better than long urls f or example let's say that your e-commerce site sells organic bird food all things being equal URL number one would rank better than URL number two one word of warning you don't necessarily want to go back and change your long URLs to shorter ones that can cause serious SEO issues instead set up your URL structure so all of your new products and category pages have short URLs did you learn something cool from today's video if so make sure to subscribe to my youtube channel right now just click on the big ol subscribe button right here also if you want exclusive SEO techniques that I only share with email subscribers head over to beckylyn cocom and sign up for the newsletter it's shorter URLs let me know by leaving a comment below right now the stage is yours sir I'm having last video-- syndrome no not Nellie meant as a bug on the screen if you want to learn blah blah blah blah kind of thing next you it's hard to fake it Read the full article

How to Get More Traffic (9 New Strategies)
in this video you're gonna learn how to get more traffic to your website fast in fact I've used these exact strategies to grow my site's traffic to over a hundred and eighty thousand visitors per month now I should warn you this video contains advanced strategies and tactics so I'm not gonna repeat the same tips you've heard a million times already like share your content on Facebook instead you're gonna see advanced traffic techniques that work great keep watching I'll be honest my first website was a complete disaster sure I had a great product in a growing industry but I lacked the number one thing a website needs to succeed traffic that's when I started googling things like how to get more traffic and increase website traffic unfortunately most of the advice that I read didn't work you know the kind of stuff I'm talking about create a Facebook page start a blog share your content on social media and look this kind of advice isn't horrible or anything but it's not gonna send thousands of targeted visitors to your site why because everyone in the world is using these exact same strategies so after trying dozens of different tactics I decided to try something new specifically I set out to test a bunch of different traffic techniques myself it wasn't easy but over time I discovered a handful of untapped traffic techniques that actually worked and once I started using these techniques my traffic shot through the roof hey mom I'm getting so much traffic your boys gonna be famous and now it's time for me to reveal these proven techniques and show you exactly how to use them to get more traffic to your site so let's jump right in with technique number one the upside-down guest posts here's the deal when most people read your guest post they completely skip the author bio section and I can't blame them most author bio boxes are buried at the bottom of the page like this which is a huge problem if people don't see your link in your author bio they're not going to visit your site fortunately there's a simple solution to this problem the upside-down guest post here's this step-by-step process first write an awesome guest post just like you normally would awesome guest posts done next include helpful resource sections throughout the post these sections should link to two to three useful resources on the topic you just covered here's an example finally include your content as one of the helpful resources for example here's a guest post that I published a while back as you can see I strategically linked out to my content as one of the resources to check out and that link brought in 78% more traffic than my author bio link pretty cool and that leads us to strategy number two use click to tweet links this is one of the best ways to get more traffic from social media in fact click to tweet links are one of the main reasons that this post for my blog has over 6,000 social media shares with that let me show you how click to tweet links work first find something tweetable in your content this can be a technique strategy quote or statistic for example this post my blog listed a bunch of list building strategies so I considered each strategy on the list tweetable next create a click to tweet link to do that just head over to click to tweet comm and write your tweet and the tool will generate a special link for you finally add that link to your content whenever someone clicks on the link they get a pre-written tweet for easy sharing it's that easy moving right along to our third technique publish more list posts there's no way around it when it comes to driving traffic to your website list post work great and there's evidence to back this up but suma recently analyzed a million articles to see which types of content work best and they found that list posts crush other content formats as you can see in this chart list posts get six times more shares than how to posts and 40 times more shares than infographics I'm going to look at my own content I noticed the same thing list post generate a ton of traffic for example this massive list of SEO tools is one of the most successful pieces of content of ever published to date this list post has generated over 18 thousand shares nine hundred comments in three hundred and thirty one thousand with that it's time for technique number four overhaul and upgrade old blog posts this simple strategy landed me fifty point nine five percent more traffic in seven days here's exactly how I did it first I found a piece of content on my site that was out of date and I found this guide on my blog that was really outdated next I updated and improved the post specifically I add a new screenshots sprinkled in new strategies and techniques and eliminated old strategies that didn't work anymore finally I updated the post to make the changes live and just like that traffic to that page shot up like a rocket ship and this wasn't a fluke I recently followed a similar process with this post this time instead of just updating the content I updated it and relaunched it like a brand new post so I shared the post on social media and sent out an announcement to my email subscribers which led to a significant boost in traffic including almost 5,000 visitors in one day so let's keep it moving with technique number five ad share triggers to your content in my experience content largely succeeds or fails based on one factor whether or not the content has share triggers so what are share triggers share triggers are things that you include in your content that push people to share it a lot of these principles were first discovered by behavioral scientists like dr. Jonah Berger and dr. Katherine milkman and they have proven in the lab when I discovered through trial and error when you include share triggers in your content people are significantly more likely to share and link to it for example one of the most powerful shared triggers is known as social currency social currency is the idea that we share things that make us look good looking good and this share trigger is a large part of the reason that this infographic that I made for a client a few years back did so well in fact this infographic generated thousands of targeted visits in the first two days now there are dozens of reasons this infographic did so well from the design to the content promotion campaign but a good chunk of its success was due to one simple thing it contained the social currency share trigger I'll explain at the time I'm a this infographic lots of people are up in arms about inflation and my content backed up their rants with solid data so every time someone shared my infographic and made them look good in other words it boosted their social currency so they shared it again and again in fact the infographic even got featured in Google News and it's all thanks to the social currency share trigger let's dive right into technique number 6 for getting more traffic go on podcast podcasts are blowing up right now in fact one survey found that 24 percent of Americans regularly listen to podcasts does that mean you should grab the nearest microphone and start a podcast no instead I recommend going on other people's podcasts as a guest this strategy works so well that I try to go on at least two podcasts every month in fact over the last few years I've appeared on over 75 podcast episodes and these episodes have brought me tens of thousands of visitors for example I once got 984 laser targeted visitors from a single podcast episode as a bonus you usually get at least one backlink in the show notes which can help you rank higher in Google let's move right along to technique number 7 create predictably viral content is there a formula for creating content that goes viral no if there was everyone would use it that said there are four things you can do to increase the odds that your content goes viral first viral content tends to contain lots of visuals this can be a bunch of images or an infographic or video the type of image doesn't really matter the important thing is that you use visuals in your content why industry studies show that image rich content gets 94% more social shares compared to content that's nothing but text second viral content tends to have a high utility utility simply means that your content is useful in some way maybe you show people how to steam broccoli or maybe you teach people how to nail their job interview either way research shows that extremely practical content has a very high chance of going viral third long-form content tends to go viral more often than short article and blog posts like I mentioned earlier in this video buzzsumo recently analyzed a million articles well in that same study they found that long-form content tends to get significantly more shares and backlinks than short posts in fact as you can see content that's at least three thousand words gets 208 percent more shares than short articles I've noticed the same thing myself for example here's a long-form article from my blog a giant list of SEO techniques this post weighs in at a staggering six thousand five hundred and twenty-five words and the simple fact that my post is insanely long is a big reason that it's been shared thousands of times and those shares have sent boatloads of traffic to my website lastly viral content needs an initial push to get going why well according to wordpress.com two million blog posts come out every single day so for your content to stand out you need to promote it for example a shop owner and backlinko reader chris gimr published this post on his site a while back and it went viral in fact that single piece of content generated 17,000 visitors to his site in one day and it wouldn't happen if Chris didn't promote his content on sites like Reddit which led to hundreds of visitors within hours let's keep things rolling with technique number 8 post on social media at strategic times so CO schedule recently analyzed the best times to post on social media sites like Facebook Pinterest and Instagram so what did they find they discovered that these are the best times to post on each network and now it's time for our last tip get more traffic with content transformation content transformation is simple instead of starting from scratch convert one of your articles into another format like an ebook video infographic or podcast for example I published this case study on my blog a while back as you can see this post generated lots of social shares and comments but I knew that I could squeeze even more value out of this content so I turn that post into a YouTube video that single video has over 90,000 views and has brought me hundreds of website visitors all from a piece of content that I published years ago you can also republish your older content on sites like LinkedIn and medium for example I published this study of YouTube ranking factors on my blog about a year ago and I republished that same piece of content as a LinkedIn article which along with my other LinkedIn posts led to a decent chunk of targeted traffic that's the power of content transformation now before we end this video I want to show you a cool bonus technique steal your competitors traffic sources imagine that you could see exactly where your competitors get their traffic from that would be a goldmine right well your competitors probably aren't about to send you their Google Analytics password fortunately you don't need it that's because you can see all of their top traffic sources for free with similar web similar web not only shows you a nice overview of a site's traffic but exactly where they get that traffic from so what can you do with this information for example let's say that you notice that one of your competitors gets a big chunk of the traffic from guest posting on a particular site well you can guest post there too or let's say that driving lots of visitors from YouTube it might be time to set up a YouTube channel you get the idea either way with this approach you don't need to wonder what the best traffic sources in your niche are instead you get a list of sites that you can get targeted traffic from let's end this video with one more quick bonus tip drive traffic from forums forums are a very underrated source of traffic when you become an active member of a forum you built a funnel a funnel that brings people back to your website let me walk you through a real-life example when I first got started with the backlinko blog I was starting from scratch I had fewer followers zero visitors and zero email subscribers and I knew that SEO and social media can be great ways to get traffic but they take time to kick in so to give my traffic head start I became an active member of a popular marketing forum I answer questions that people asked on the forum and I even posted some original content and this led to a solid influx of visitors to my brand-new blog so there you have it 9 techniques to help you get more website traffic if you learn something new from today's video then make sure to subscribe to the backlinko youtube channel right now just click on the subscribe button below this video also if you want exclusive SEO and traffic techniques that I only share with subscribers head over to backlinko calm and hop on the newsletter it's free and now I'd like to turn it over to you which technique from today's video are you gonna try first are you gonna start writing more a-list posts or maybe you want to drive traffic from forums either way let me know by leaving a comment below right now and I could do like 10 more videos right now though oh it's a slide anyway nice - this one I'm calling my mom so nervous man but a good chunk how many ways can you squeeze it one this Read Strategy to Increase Blog Traffic, Metrics, and Shifts with SEO in 2021 with Aja Frost
- Hi, guys, I'm Kara, marketing associate here at Campaign Creators. If you're watching this, you're watching part two of our three part AMA series interviewing HubSpot's head of content SEO, Aja Frost. If you haven't watched part one, go ahead and watch that. We covered some great things on SEO, content strategy, and more. So let's get back into it. (upbeat music) You kind of answered my next question, but wondering if you want to elaborate more on it. But, yes, there's a lot of blog writers, content creators that are writing a lot of blogs, but don't necessarily have a strategy put in place, and they see the results, traffic isn't growing. What would you suggest for them to do next if they want to improve their traffic, but they just have a bunch of blogs now? What's the most efficient or effective way for them to use their time? - Yeah, I think my first step would be going to Google Search Console or a keyword research tool like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, you've got a bunch of options, and just looking at where you're currently getting traffic. What keywords you're currently ranking for. And being really honest with yourself about whether those keywords are actually ones you should be ranking for, whether they have the potential to drive qualified traffic or not. And if you find that there's some keywords that are good fits, I always think about it in two ways, good fit for your audience and good fit for your product. And for a keyword to be worth targeting it needs to have both. So if you find keywords that you're currently ranking for that meet those criteria, you can either work on improving the content and getting it to rank higher, or finding more good-fit keywords if you're already ranking highly for those. Like, what other keywords in this sphere can we rank for as well? And that's probably like, the simplest, this should take, you know, five hours of your time, activity that you can do, whether you're doing it once a month, or once a quarter, it's really easy. But it does, yeah, it requires being very, I don't know, just honest with yourself. - Intentional. - Yeah, honest and intentional because I think you can rank for a lot of keywords without having them be good-fit keywords. You can get a lot of traffic, but if it's not qualified traffic, it's like a vanity metric. - No customers, exactly. - Yeah, yeah, and if you are using GA and you have like custom goals or events set up and you're actually tracking conversions on the page or, you know, email subscribers, or like, any goal that you've set up, you can drill down even further and say, okay this page. Maybe it's in the 50th percentile for traffic, but it's in the 99th percentile for conversions. Why? How? What do I do to make more of these pages? - Yeah, yeah. And now that you're talking about conversion rates, traffic, I think another question that I wanted to ask was, what, besides traffic, is a very common metric that people use to determine whether their post is successful, are there any other maybe more important or relevant metrics that you use to determine or say like, yes, this blog post or this content I've created was a good idea and is proving success? What are some metrics that you would suggest tracking? - Yeah, so I think earlier when I touched on, okay, it's organic first, it's not organic only, we're also looking at these other things, our reporting metrics have, and I would argue that for everyone, your reporting metrics should line up very closely to your strategy and your goals. Like, they should be one and the same. If you want to do X, what you're tracking should be right there with it. So we're still, I'd say, organic traffic is still one of the first metrics that we look at, but we are also looking, and it depends on the type of content. So, let's say we've written something that is specifically designed to convert someone into a free user. Like, we have a free meetings tool, and so if someone's looking for how to schedule a meeting using Gmail, we know that person could be a great fit for our products. So that query might have 150 MSV, fairly low for our normal target keyword, but it's a perfect lead into the product. So for that post, we will look at organic traffic, we'll look at ranking for target keywords, but we're also going to look at, okay, last touch attribution for that product page. And even going so far as to say, like, did someone hit this blog post before they became a user? If so, we're going to attribute that to the blog post. So that would be one metric that we look at. We have a lot of more lead-gen oriented posts, kind of colloquially known as conversion bait. So for those we're looking at how many people hit a lead-gen thank you page from a blog post, yeah. For posts that are intended to kind of strengthen our point of view, or garner a lot of buzz, which tend not to have the most traffic because they're more like, future thinking or more timely. I think like a lot of what Nate Silver does is a really good example. I don't know if you read his website-- - No, I don't. - But he does a lot of political, of each piece of content so it will say like, this is designed, I mean it's not going to write out, this is designed to get links, but it will say-- - What's the goal? - Yeah, it'll say goal, like links, or legion, or academy sign-ups, whatever, and then we can look and say, okay, did that do what it was intended to do? - Got you. - So it makes it very easy to measure, yeah. - Yeah, it's a good way to organize, yes, did it accomplish a goal? No. It's really good that you're writing that out and everything. - Yeah. - Awesome, great tips. So we talked about metrics. Now that it is December, what is today, 10th? - 11th. - 11th, it's again, time is flying by. - Time is flying, yeah. - Now that we're coming to the new decade, 2020, do you feel like SEO is changing in the next upcoming year, do you feel like it's not? Or do you have any predictions of what you see SEO going in the next year? - Yeah, I think one thing that is starkly obvious when you use Google, is how much of the traditional SERP has disappeared. So SEO's talk about the 10 blue links, and that was, you know, standard Google, back in the day, type in a query, you get ten blue links. Maybe you'd have one or two ads at the top, but that was pretty much it. And now, I was on Twitter, the SEO Twitter community is fantastic. - Is it? - Yeah, people are-- - I had no idea. - It is my favorite pastime during the day. I spend a lot of time on SEO Twitter. Someone just made like an SEO, have you heard of an RPG? - No. - It's like an old-school computer game. Someone made one for SEO, Alexis Merkle, and published it on Twitter yesterday. - Love it. - Yeah, so that gives you an idea of the type of cool stuff that's coming up in this world. But yeah, someone posted a screenshot of, it was a Black Friday related query. I can't remember if it was like a product query or like, Black Friday deals or something like that, but it was massive, and all the way down at the very bottom was the first organic result. By organic, we mean something that's not an ad or a featured snippet, or a people also ask box, or knowledge grab, or media. Yeah, so Rand Fishkin calls this, "The rise of the zero click search," because Google is giving users so much information right on the SERP, they have no reason to click. And now, I think, for the first time ever, this year, more than half of desktop queries no longer result in a click. - That's a lot. - Yeah, it's a lot. And even if people are searching more, and more people are getting access to the internet, and the overall pie is growing, websites are increasingly getting a smaller slice of the pie. So I think it's every SEO's job, knowing that this is a trend, knowing that outside of Duck Duck Go, or Bing, having, you know, this incredible upward trajectory and displacing Google, it's going to keep happening. It's an irreversible trend. And how do you either get as big a piece of the pie as possible, meaning like, as much search activity, as many clicks are actually happening. How do you make sure that your website is getting as many as it can for the right queries? Or how do you find other sources of traffic that you own, that aren't reliant on Google, very hard to do, if you figure it out, let me know. (both laugh) - I was hoping you'd answer that one. - No, no, don't have answers to that. Just know that it's important and that someone should. Or how do you make your website so effective that it doesn't matter that you're getting fewer clicks, necessarily? You know, can you turn the lever in other ways? Can you increase conversion rates? Or create a new type of content that's more engaging? It's a really tough question, I think everyone's struggling with it. It's incredible to see entire market caps, you know, business market caps just tumble, like, TripAdvisor's a great example. Or like hotel booking websites, you know, once Google decided to go into the bookings or restaurant reservation games, you can take out an entire industry. That's a lot of power. So, you have to think about it, but I don't know if there are any easy answers. - Yeah, no, it's crazy how there's featured snippets. I'm starting to see now, well like, YouTube clips specifically, or even like, if you ask a question, it'll put the clip exactly at the video-- - The suggested clip, I know, it's crazy. - This is so specific to, yes, answering my question, but, yeah, it pushes down everything. There's like, I don't know what they're called, but all those questions that are-- - Yeah, the people also ask boxes. - Yeah, and I guess I didn't think about it until you mentioned it now, but it is becoming like, organic is at the bottom now, and so, yeah. If you have answers to-- - Yeah, let us know. - That would be a great answer to know, but a good thing to think about.. Read the full article

For example if you know some big websites did where you can submit your sponsor post to pay the like two hundred dollars, five hundred dollars and you can submit they are high quality content and promote it because if you submit the same content on your website Google considers the parameters EAT (expertise authority and trustworthiness) and Google will not rank your website because if you have a low level of this parameter, but if you are talking about some famous websites like CNN, Forbes, I don't know, many of othere maybe sometimes it's enough just to submit content because Google give to these website a lot of ranking because of their level of trust, authority, trustworthiness and Yep. What you need to do to find some websites in your niche. Where you can submit your sponsor post pay money to write have high quality content and promote it and after this you can have traffic to this website. But on this website you can submit your author bio your or link to your commercial pages and stuff on this and pursue your products. Why not, and the second Jeep gets put on their site. For example many big websites they don't have access to submit the guest post. I mean like a sponsored post but you can submit guest post to write some high quality content To their websites. Some interesting article for example around Stewart are all that this gets post for most Blog because its famous blog and it’s more simple to promote this gets post them to Submit the same article on the on your blog. For example, I started my website as your tools to be and you know I don't have high Authority and yeah it's a good reason. If I can submit my content to other websites and to have links to my site or for example Even though my lending pages that I got I can sell my products. Okay go ahead and the Second TIP when you can hijack brand alternative keywords. Yeah I like that one. For example many big brand and Ryan Stuart is highlighted to help spot like a spot because Sport has a lot of traffic in marketing sales niche and is difficult to outrun. This website but many websites many customers don't want to pay a lot of money for Hubspot Service because it's expensive and they try to find some alternative. What you need to do to write some articles where you can compare two different services And HubSpot has a lot of competitors and it's not expensive like HubSpot. You can write this content on your website and steal their brand keywords. When Some people are looking for alternatives and what we have here many websites have the least Like this they have HubSpot alternatives.Yeah you can promote this content and steal their Brand traffic. Okay go ahead. Tick tick Taking advantage of store closures. It seems to a recent example few months ago and we can see here that Starbucks decided to close All Teavana stores and with news of teavana shutting down fans of the brand would inevitably Search for Teavana replacements to find a new company to buy similar tea from and for Example, if you know some big brand on your niche decided to quit their business or the Big group. Okay, why not, you can take their customers who can take their traffic to create similar Content and propose that alternative to their brand. Okay go ahead. Tip number three when you want to rank for the best keywords it’s difficult you know because Basically what they usually have some least for different sort of products and What you need to do? You need to reach out people bloggers who have such content and proposed them some interest In you know. For example, if you have some content which are related to this least you can ask them To add your content to their list but what I like in this article that threatens to highlight That you need to propose some of what he can he's here. You'll also want to pitch journalists for future inclusion in articles. Scan your target Publication for relevant journalists and sent an opening pitch and what you need to do to Propose some advantage to Ask. Okay, at my content to your list and I do give advantage for you or for your readers. For example, some discounts some other staff or some gifts you know if you have my content On your list and even when reader read the list they can see or hear I can get a 15 Percent discount and stuff like this. It’s interesting because many many bloggers who use the same technique to promote their Websites they usually don't have advantage but you can give them advantage to tell Know it's better to use this service. Okay go ahead and yep it is the same you know but it's more about software as a service. Tip Number 4, when you need to spread your local footprint and what you can see here Is the same technique in the previous one because on that point and Stuart highlights It both local promotion Miami organic affect, Miami coffee shop, Miami juice bar and what You need to do? You can promote for all these free keywords one website because it's you know like it's Related if content cannibalization when they have the same content on different pages but What they can do you can submit your content or Deep Web sites like yep like yellow pages And you do the same and promote their pages you know and get this traffic. Why not, now it's interesting and you realize this. Tip number five and you need to boost ecommerce sales. Yeah it's interesting because you know you need if for example if you sell your products On Amazon you can from you can you know promote your Amazon page not your website ecommerce Website and Stuart highlights that he has a client and when a client asked to promote Their e-commerce website he told Okay it's better to promote your Amazon page you know Where you can sell your products and because in that point you can use authority of Amazon. Yeah it's a big website. It’s more simple promote Amazon page than your e-commerce page and for example, if you Have EAT account or Amazon is better to promote then your website if you don't have high authority. Okay, go down and turn go down. Tip Number Six. When the SERPS call for video. You know I like that point I like even More because if you want to promote your video you can do it for 24 hours. For example, I trust he might just started that If you want to promote promote your website page only 7 percent of all pages on the top 10 can be in the top 10 in the first year. It means that you need to spend a lot of years to get your content on the top 10 but if he Promote your video and like you know a 55 percent of all is just online at least one video. That means an 82 percent of them from YouTube that means that if you record your video you Can get your the top 10 on YouTube in 24 hours and if you have the top 10 on YouTube Google might take this video to show on their search. Yeah that's interesting and deep. I like that one and you don't need to create a lot of content to pay for optimizing just To get traffic from YouTube and from Google only in 24 hours. Okay thanks, Ryan Stewart go ahead and the next article mine actionable issue it keeps To increase organic traffic you know. I definitely recommend you to read this article because in many of this technique standard Bath explanation how you can use them differently this techniques on this article and… Tip number five. Rank content in Google's features snippet. No if you want to achieve features feature Snippet you need to rank your website on the top 10. It's important because 99 percent of all feature snippet from the top 10 and Google Chooses the best content on the top 10 to show in the future features snippet and what You need to do that at your step to achieve the top 10, when you have the top 10 you need To do add Questions and answers in your content. For example, you see all this keyword from the top 10 this and what you need to do to Check what people can ask you know if your keyword you can use some services like answered The public or I should ask or seminars or many other services and you can find some Questions from people and the questions to your content and give them answers and yeah its work. But you know I think it is more important to pay attention if you have this top10 And the tip number2 link reclamation. I think yeah it’s more related to big sites when you can, you know get backlinks. For example, when your mentor brands mentions and what you need to do to to reach out the blow Go to the website and ask them to make a hyperlink to your website not only mention. Yeah, it definitely dons but I think it is better to use for big websites because For small websites I'm not sure that you can get a lot of mentions but it depends on the Business. For example, if you think that people are talking about your business why not. Yeah, in that point you can use a brief mentions because it's free. For example, you can use Google alerts or many other websites. Many of them are free from big websites like some rash. I trust they have the same brand mentioned tools. Yep, you can submit a check if people are talking about your tool just reach all them And ask about. Keep it link if you don't have the same. Okay, and this the process here how you can do it. Get that in contact details citizen all them and even they have some example of a template And number three is Community hijacking. What’s it like in that do you put that the author of this article highlights to be communities Where people are talking about some interesting and even you can submit but link that To your website and what you need to do to reach out these members of this community And ask them to submit links to your website and what we can see here to our website Lookbook and the second website product hunt. Yeah, it means for this website, it is. You can ask them members of this community to submit links to your website and even get Traffic.Yep each resume examples. Tip number four. Acquiring an existing website you know how? For example, I remember New Patel What I suggest for a hundred? No hundred no. Yeah, hundred twenty thousand dollar Yup and todays would suggest gives to him A lot of traffic and here come on try this traffic but he decided to have this too free and you know for example, if you have some time to To check book sites on land because many website owners do not have time to pay attention for All their websites or for example they want to choose other niche and what you can do Is to buy some this websites. Many black hat techniques use this technique for their full purpose of links. You don't need to do it just find websites where you can get real traffic and why not, You can think how you can monetize them. For example, if you see a website are struggling to get sales from their content but they have Traffic and don't have sales and if you see for example, you bought this website you can add some call to action some forums or any type of monetization.Yeah it helps and yeah, and You can read some explanation here. I hate how you can do it by using Ahrefs. Okay. Tip Number 5 boost underperforming content. Yep I like I like that tip because you know sometimes you have some positions, you have Traffic. What you need to do or to increase this traffic just to its content or make more links. For example, you can use Google Search console to check your ideal positions and if you see That you can improve your content or optimize if it technical errors for example to have Some backlinks or even a terminal link why not. You can get more and yup the author of this article uses Google Search console to find Positions and think I think yep it helps him to know which type of content he needs to Improve with in order to get more results. Okay, Tip Number 6. Competitor link analysis. I think it means that you need to use insurance seminars or any other tools Morse and What you need to do to check their backlinks and think Can you get the same links or not Just analyze of competitors and think how they provide that along building components And use the the same their techniques. If you can get easily get this backlinks and yep what you can see here is I think it's An insurance or yep it's more suitable if It insurance. Okay. Tip number 7. Find questions that your buyer persona is asking. You know all, Of course you can use Quora you can use Reddit you can use on the public Many other tools whether you can find some of what people are talking about your industry And what I like about quora and reddit because if people can’t find on Google they go to this Website and ask questions there. It means that it's better to take part in community to speak To speak with other related people members and to find their questions and give this Answer on your content because you can create only content by using only genetics keywords Because you are talking about some general keywords of big brands big websites just occupy This directions. What you need to do to find questions where Google doesn't have a lot of choices and you Need to create content that, yup you can use Quora, Answered the public and I think even The Reddit you know and the Google keyword Explorer you can use it and yep and enlightening Questions to your content. Tip number 8 transcribe your video content. Yep, I like that point. For example, if you write some articles you can convert them to audio or video for a month. Example In my point, I don't write articles I just take other articles and convert them To video format because I know for example, if I write articles I usually spent one, Two weeks you know a lot of time to find together information to create something you need each Listing information. But when you convert to video from other articles why not you can get the traffics it works Because YouTube is not like Google for example, On Google you can take other content and publish On your website because he doesn't blocking for promotion but if you do it on YouTube It works because you know.Yeah, of course I have backlinks I have links to in my description To this I take course you can take them but you know I just proposed different format For people who likes more to watch done to date. Okay. Tip number 9. Get a column on an industry publications. Yep you can use alltop and I think the same directory as and for example, if you use alltop You can find some niche related blogs and there you can find some opportunities. It's not like to use only insurance or Google search or any other tools just use directories. Yep, because or if you are talking in alltop they are a high quality content from different Websites. Okay, and make it content make outreach. Okay. Tip number 10. Update and publish old content.Yeah, I like that point. That means if you write a lot of stuff a lot of content what you need to do republish old Content or you know or for example even delete them because if you have some. If you wrote some articles 2 3 years ago and some information from this articles don't Work anymore and it doesn't help your readers what you need to do you rewrite this content Or delete it.For example, HubSpot deleted three thousand blog post because they don't Have some valuable information anymore and I think HubSpot has all content plan and if It’s not related with old articles and if they see that they can't republish this content Because it takes a lot of resources because they don't need this traffic anymore or for Example they want to delay this traffic for new content. Yeah, in that point it's better to delete them but if you delete it just set up free Country for reader you wrote and in that point you can't lose your backlinks. Okay, tip Number Eleven is Run CO-marketing campaigns. Read the full article

Clicks is the number of times that page was clicked In the search results. Click-through rate (CTR) is the percentage of times your site is viewed And clicking on it to request a specific search. How To Increase Website Traffic & Get More Subscribers on YouTube, Guaranteed!
Hey Miles here. MilesBeckler.com. This video is going to answer the question. Why is no one finding and watching my videos or why is no one finding and reading my blog posts? You know, I've done a lot of content on this channel about doing a 90 day challenge. Um, all kinds of people are taking action Bravo to you. If you're someone who's publishing, but one. Question continues to come up over and over again. And that question is miles. I'm not getting the results I expected. No one's finding my stuff. My view counts are too low. My subscriber counts are too low. My traffic's just not there. So this video is going to help put this all into perspective. I'm going to explain what the numbers mean and what this Venn diagram means and how that really ties into you as a content creator, building your platform, growing your audience. Online. And at the end, I'm going to share with you the one skill, like the one skill that if I was to recommend, and I do recommend you master one skill moving forward and you apply it every single time you go through these motions, I'll share with share with you what that is. Once we're done with the Venn diagram, examples. The first place I want to start is with expectations. I think it's normal. I think it's human nature for us to always want to be farther along than we already are. No growing my business through the months and years, you know, year two of growing our business and still not seeing real big returns and having to hit that 10 grand a month Mark yet. And I've been working on it for two years on this one business and then making money online at that point for seven or eight years. Right? Like. I wanted to be farther along than I was, and I think that's human nature. So I think keeping our expectations in check is one of the biggest things we can do. And one of the big ways to do that is to focus on who you're being of service to their needs instead of what am I getting from this? Because if you're moving forward in internet marketing and your only goal is to get. Get from this, you want to get money. You want to make money. You're trying to get from people. You've got it all wrong. And this whole thing's gonna fall apart out from underneath you. When your focus truly is at a heart level to be of service to an audience and to help them, no matter what the costs, you can control your fate with me in this case handle. For example, my 100% goal is helping you build a business online. So I'm doing everything I can within my power. Can't build it for you, but I can sure. Lay down a couple of different pathways, whether you want to do paid traffic or organic traffic, whether you're doing info products or physical products, I can lay down those pathways in those roadmaps for you. You still have to take the action, but that's not. That's outside of my control, right? As long as I'm focused on giving as much value to you as I can. I can win. I can set the game up so I can win. Now. If I was thinking I have to reach a certain income Mark every month by this date, or I have to have a hundred thousand subscribers by XYZ month, that just puts myself in a position to where all of those kinds of results are actually outside of my control. What's within my control. Publishing a great piece of content very, very regularly. Right now I'm three times a week. I'm publishing as good of content as I can. So that's the first perspective shift I want to offer you the second one. These numbers here, normal right on what they are. Um, and if you're listening in there's two columns down the left, it's just one through six. And on the right, we've got a 55 through 3,500 and I'll explain what these mean here in a second, but. How I Rank #1 For Very Competitive Keywords on YouTube
- Since 2017, I've grown my YouTube channel from zero to over 490,000 subscribers. YouTube is the second most popular search engine on Earth. I'm ranked for keywords on YouTube that are some of the most competitive, like SEO and content marketing. Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today, I'm going to break down how to rank number one for very competitive keywords on YouTube. (upbeat music) Now, before we get started, make sure you subscribe to this channel. That way, when I release more content like this, you'll get notified. And if you're on YouTube, click the alert notification. The first thing you need to do is become an authority in a specific area. In other words, you need to be an expert. You know how Google has the E-algorithm? YouTube doesn't have an E-algorithm, but it's very similar. Channels that are very specific versus talking about everything, tend to do better when it comes to ranking. Google wants to rank authoritative channels that are really, you know, the key, the end-all, be-all authority on that subject versus just random people. Why? Because it provides more value and that keeps people more on YouTube longer. So with my channel, I tend to stick with marketing. SEO, content marketing, blogging. You don't see me creating topics about my family and videos about my life or driving their car, because that doesn't really have anything to do with marketing. So whenever I try to go out of this expertise, I don't get much traction and I don't rank well even if I do all the stuff that's right. But when I focus, I do really well. For example, my buddy Derek Halpern told me to create a video on sales because it got him a lot of paid speaking gigs. When I did that, even though I copied the right format, I did all the right SEO stuff, I didn't do well. Why? Because I'm not known as a sales expert. So no matter what, you need to have one focus area for your channel. I kid you not, that really helps you rank better. The second tip, pay attention to feedback. You'll notice that some topics will always have good performance on your channels, and others won't. If people love certain topics, then do more of them. If some people hate certain topics, then do less of them. Sure, you can't always keep creating the same video over and over and over again. But you can do variations of it, you can expand upon it. Like I know you love SEO videos from me. Yeah, sure, all my videos don't have to just be about SEO, they can be about link building, they can be about content marketing, they can be about Google algorithms, they can be about international expansion. There's so many areas that you could take it, but really listen to your audience. And sure they may not just tell you this feedback in a comment, but you can also tell by the views, the likes, the dislikes. All this will give you feedback. The third thing, understand search demand. Much like SEO, having the right keywords, with the right search volume gives you the best chance of success in the long run. See, today, search is the second biggest traffic source to my channel, accounting for 25.5% of all views to my videos. You can use Ubersuggest to find the right keywords. Under the Keyword Ideas report, you can see tabs for questions, prepositions, comparisons. This will give you ideas for content that you can create, as well as it'll tell you what's being searched. The last thing you want to do is create content on things that just aren't searched. Sure you'll rank number one from something that gets no volume, but who really cares, because it's not driving any traffic. The next thing, do your keyword research, but focus on the value of your content. See, when people do keyword research they're like, "Okay, I'm going after these keywords, "so I want to optimize my title tag, my meta description, "say the keyword within the video, "because if this video's on SEO "and I say it 10 times in the video, "like 'SEO, SEO, SEO,' YouTube picks that up, "I'm going to rank better." But what about the value of the content? See, YouTube measures retention. How long is someone watching your video? And are they leaving? And not only do they measure how long someone is watching your video, they measure how long does your video keep someone on YouTube, because after your video is over, they tend to autoplay other videos even if they're not from your channel, and if that user keeps sticking around and watches five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 videos, a lot of that credit goes to your video, which will help it rank higher, because that helps YouTube also generate more ad income. So look at the quality of your videos. You want to hook people on early on. You want to tell them why they should stick around. You want to keep them entertained. All these types of things will do well. There's this lady named Sunny. She has something called the hot script. Look it up. It'll help keep more people on your YouTube channel. And if you're just boring and talking in monotone like this, no one's going to stick around. But when you have amazing content that people like, "Oh my god, this is so entertaining, "you have great animation, good transition," that'll keep people around longer. The next tip, pay attention to your video format. See, I've found that certain formats of a video, like how it's structured, how my story, how the whole five or 10 minutes is structured, really helps keep people around, also subscribe to my channel and increase my rankings. So here's my formula that I use with my videos. First, I start with the hook. This is the idea where I capture the attention of my audience by telling them what the video's about, why it's important and why it matters to viewers. Then, I tell people to subscribe. And I just don't say, "Hey, subscribe to my channel." I tell them, "You have to click the alert notification," because if they click the alert notification, more people will get notified of your videos. This action at the very beginning is very important. It's really helped change my channel and helped boost my ranking. Third, I lay my content out in a step-by-step format, bulleted explanations. I use stats, I use actionable advice. I explain things so anyone can understand. I just don't want to give a lecture and be like, "Hey, I'm Neil, I know everything about SEO or marketing." No, I want to break things down so you can implement and get results, because if you do, you'll keep coming back. If you do that with your audience, they'll also keep coming back. And that's why I also try to keep things short, sweet and easy to understand, so whether you're a newbie or you're advanced, you can get value. And finally, I give them some additional calls to action, talk to them about my ad agency, telling them to like the video, telling them to share it, telling them to leave a comment. This all helps boost my engagement, which helps with my ranking. Now that you've got your format right, the next step I have for you, keep a eye out on what's working within your market. See, your audience isn't only watching your content or your channel. There's other channels that are competing with you. Look at their channels. See what's working. See which one of their videos is doing the best. Analyze it. Copy their best concepts and strategies. I'm not saying you should copy their video word for word. I'm talking about their concepts and strategies. If someone created a video on link building or infographics because it does really well, I can do my own take on that as well. That's another example. And the last tip I have for you, it's all about the first 24 hours. See, YouTube's SEO algorithm is the opposite of Google's SEO algorithm. See, with Google, you rank well over time. It's a long and steady race. With YouTube, the videos that tend to do really well in the first 24 hours tend to rank really quickly. In other words, I'll release a video and I can get ranked really highly for a keyword within the first 24 hours of the term I'm targeting. Sometimes it takes a week, sometimes a few days, but it doesn't really take longer than that. So the first 24 hours, I push it out to all my social channels, like Twitter, saying, "Go to YouTube, watch this video." I'll do email blasts, push notification blasts through Subscribers.com. All this helps my videos rank higher because it's so popular in the first 24 hours, YouTube sees it, it's much more likely to do well in the long run. Now, I could end it here, but I have another bonus tip for you, and the reason I want to give you this bonus tip, because it's not really a tip that matters too much that you don't already know about, but it still impacts your ranking. You really want to focus on your headline. Copyblogger has a headline formula. Check it out. It'll teach you how to write headlines. And to give you a quick stat, eight out of 10 people will read your headline, but only two out of 10 will click through and read the rest of your article or click through and watch the rest of your video. That's why headlines matter. Because if your headlines suck and no one's clicking through on them, you're not going to rank well. But if you get a lot of clicks, you will rank better as well. So that's it. If you need help with your social media marketing or your YouTube SEO, check out my ad agency, Neil Patel Digital. If you enjoyed this video, like it, share it, tell other people about it. If you have some questions, leave a comment. I'll respond and help you out. Thank you for watching.. Read the full article

the Norman normal intro here Karen hi and then I'm gonna play recording a pre-recorded session on this presentation I haven't done this much before I think maybe I tried it once but I figured this this situation better than canceling I can show you something out of my archive and hopefully that'll work and then I'll come back through it's about 37 minutes of the presentation I'll come back when it's all done and then we'll answer questions hopefully me sitting here quietly for 37 minutes well it'll help me to rest of my voice kind of get it together and that sort of thing and by the way I mentioned it I'll mention it again in a second but if you have some kind of screen freezes he's so mesh says there's a screen freeze refresh if there's some some kind of issue or something refresh it on your side a lot of times that will fix the issue so okay I need to have more energy at least for the the intro alright people now multiple people are saying it's freezing it could actually be freezing sometimes it happens with the webinarjam servers and stuff try and refresh it though so by the way is everyone seeing a freeze and I'll type it in because obviously if it's frozen you maybe can't hear me everyone okay all right yeah see this is the this is the weird game that we end up playing one person says it and then I freaked out then I start checking stuff alright so here's what we're gonna do I know a few people looks like the folks that are joining up it's slowed down and the other the other thing is if you're not in North America it's probably not unusual for the video not to be super awesome so a little bit of a lag Marcel I know you mentioned that I'm mentioning that so you know on my end I'm at least wired into the wall and have fibre to the house so okay I'm gonna try and start this video and at the end I'll answer questions so and I'll be in the chat hanging out with everyone and let's see if this thing works let's see very strange okay I'm not sure cool alright I'm going to try and play the video it wasn't a hundred percent clear 100 percent clear if it was cool let's do it we have several people on if you're just joining up Doug Huntington here from niche site project we're gonna get into the presentation which is SEO for niche sites and really it's a plan and I outlined a plan for you perfect and I'm gonna get rid of the bookmark bar just to give us a little more real estate so if excuse me if you are joining up got really excited and talked over myself there so if it's your first time on one of these webinars or live streams let me know I'm interested to hear and by the way I think I have a couple questions throughout so when I ask them you can just answer back in the chat and I'll you know see if they're and quick note as we are getting a bowling if the audio freezes if the video freezes or something like that just refresh it also let me know in the chat but usually if you refresh it you should come back and it should start working a lot of times if you you know mention it in the chat other people will say hey it's fine or if I see like everyone can't see it then I know there's a problem but most of the time a refresh will work okay I read either the Sam check but I always put this slide in here just to be sure here's a quote so all generalizations are false including this one that's a Mark Twain quote at least believe it's Mark Twain and I put that in here because I'm telling you an SEO plan that is generalized this is basically a plan that you can use an approach that you can use but there's a lot of generalizations made and I'm not saying this is the right way to do it I'm saying this is a way to do it and there are dozens of other ways many other people have completely different focuses and you know what their ways are valid too I haven't tested everything I'm just telling you what I've done in the past and I will mention that you know I said it before there are some great that's technique so I'm going to mention here I don't use them by the way and I'll point them out specifically however I do know that they can't work and have friends and peers that are using this gray hat methods with great success and it's a valid thing to do is just not my not my preference so as I mentioned abduct Huntington I'm the founder of niche site project which is an internet marketing blog and I've been been blogging there for about four years and that is a picture of my dad and i am i late dog Brody there at Yellowstone obviously weren't the Old Faithful geyser which is think like from door to you know the boardwalk there it's maybe like two and a half three hours so I live really close to Yellowstone which is awesome it's a great great place so pass okay I'm not sure if I'm back on I think I should be I think the video I think the video was not where it was supposed to be and I'm not sure what's up with that I apologize I think I wanted to cut out some other stuff so I'm gonna try to restart it sorry this there's always like some kind of tech issue here and I hope this isn't going to repeat stuff cool let's do it we have several people on if you're just joining up Doug Huntington here from niche site project we're gonna get into the presentation which is SEO for niche sites and really it's a clam and I outlined a plan for you perfect and I'm gonna get rid of the bookmark bar just to give us a little more real estate so if excuse me if you are joining up got really excited and talked over myself there so if it's your first time on one of these webinars or live streams let start working a lot of times if you you know mention it in the chat other people will say hey it's fine or if I see like everyone can't see it then I know there's a problem but most of the time or refresh will work okay I already did the Sam check but I always put this slide in here just to be sure here's a quote so all generalizations are false including this one that's a Mark Twain quote at least believe it's Mark Twain and I put that in here because I'm telling you an SEO plan that is generalized this is basically a plan that you can use an approach that you can use but there's a lot of generalizations made and I'm not saying this is the right way to do it I'm saying this is a way to do it and there are dozens of other ways many other people have completely different focuses and you know what their ways are valid too I haven't tested everything I'm just telling you what I've done in the past and I will mention that you know I said it before there are some great that's technique so I'm going to mention here I don't use them by the way and I'll point them out specifically however I do know that they can work and have friends and peers that are using this gray hat methods with great success and it's a valid thing to do is just not my not my preference so as I mentioned abduct Huntington I'm the founder of Mitch site project which is an internet marketing blog and I've been blogging there for about four years and that is a picture of my dad and I am i late dog Brody there at Yellowstone obviously weren't the Old Faithful geyser which is I think like from door to you know the boardwalk there it's maybe like two and a half three hours so I live really close to Yellowstone which is awesome it's a great great place so past track record which I only mentioned this because a lot of people give advice that just regurgitate stuff but I do have a past track record I've had successful niche sites I've had ups and downs I've coached a lot of other people I've been guest blogging talking about internet marketing different areas which I focus on and I'm a PMP which is a project management professional so I do internet marketing full-time at this point I have been doing it full-time for two years but before that I had about ten years of experience as a corporate or in a well as a corporate drone really but I was a project manager for software companies did management consulting and all that sort of corporate and stuff so it's an unusual I think an unusual skill set that it bring to the table and I have been featured on many places I will read them all out but I'm sure you recognize some of them and I was mentioned Derek on social triggers most recently so I always put this timeline in part of the reason is a reminder for myself so I've had ups and downs like there were some rocky points for sure the thing is I got a fast start you know back in the day in 2013 you could start a new site and you could rank it within six weeks two months three months or so like number one for like really competitive terms and you'll notice this rollercoaster ride where you know my rankings dropped and my sites were penalized and I launched a bunch of more sites and they were penalized too and then like I said two years ago 2015 I got laid off from my job after I worked there for nine years and things started to turn around at that point of course you see is a low point here intentionally and most recently sort of this mark here up here I saw the site with business partner and myself we sold a site for 235 which is really cool it seems like just unreal considering where we started from so I've had the ups and downs so part of the reason I don't use the gray house stuff is because of this timeline here like I said Q&A is at the end feel free to ask questions throughout you can you know ask questions like Blake did here and thank you for noting as a question so just I think that layout may have changed just a tad but the idea is you can use the that's the form there the drop-down next to the chat area the chat field and then you can mark it as a question it makes it much easier for me especially at the end so quick note you know why niche sites why should you be interested in niche sites if you don't have a site yet so in quick question while I'm talking about this how many people have a niche site right now just say yeah I have one right now and let me know in the chat and if you don't say no but I'm thinking about it or kind of where you're at that will help me shape the presentation or you know as best I can for the unique audience that we have today so why niche sites for me it's like one of the you know best ways to get started the reason why is the start-up costs are low the concepts are simple in theory and none of the steps are really like super complicated it's just putting together a string of you know simple tasks in the right order over a period of time you get the benefit of compound interest you know working on a long-term project slowly you know improving over time the other part is you build skills in various areas right so you can focus on SEO portion of it you can focus on why you have SEO grey hat SEO you could focus on the content maybe you find that because when I got started by the way I didn't know anything about WordPress making money online niche sites or anything so maybe you're in the same position you started playing around with WordPress and you realize you really like designing websites and working with themes and helping people do that so niche sites may not be like the end of the road for you or your you know path to working for yourself but you can learn a lot of skills from working on their sites that maybe you just stick with that web design stuff and your web design consultant or freelancer and you could take that and there are many areas I mean you can end up being a copywriter you could end up being an email marketer in general so I'll leave it at that but it's a great place to learn the ropes overall like I said you can get the design aspect you can learn SEO you can just like learn a bunch of out marketing which is one thing to happen to me and you know some people turn into like domain flips right it's a simple a simple concept of buying a domain and hanging on to it until supposed avaya firm so there are many places to go with niche sites and you know you could leave I'll leave it at that so so a couple examples of like how niche sites could work everyone may recognize some of the folks I'm going to mention here but Dave Fox I coached him back in early 2015 through mid 2015 and he slowly grew his site - from I think that was about a thousand bucks or 1500 bucks or so in January of 2016 - well I can't see that very well but it looks like about six thousand bucks in December of 2016 and he's consistently making between like five and seven thousand or so I haven't you know checked with him lately but if this stuff basically changed his life he was a musician he's still a musician but he would do some music teaching he's a drummer a guitarist and you know I think he he paints too so he's an artist all around but he threw you know ton of hard work and coaching with me he was able to put put together basically a new career for himself okay so I fee I'm gonna take a quick break and look over at the chat so a few several people do have sites Cesar Chuck Paul Bobby Shantz Brett Brent is just thinking about it right now my cousin aside I love cash as a sight shade not right now and okay so it seems like a lot of people do have site least with a few posts as he Gabriel just just as one site Audrey you want to get started right away and ran the let's see cool so it sounds like everyone is getting right into it either you have a site or spin up for a while and there's a handful of people that don't so that's cool it's very exciting for everyone for sure and then other example is Rob so I coached actually I met Rob way back in the day he was a leader of Mitch that project he just shot me an email and this was like back in mid 2014 I could tell he was doing well and we formed a mastermind group so we formed a mastermind group with one other person and through the years you know Rob and I have been in mastermind groups in some form or another there was a point where you know I could tell he needed system set up he needed help with templates and basically areas where my project management experience but really helped so I coached him through five or six sessions and these are all on YouTube by the way so I think if you're on the email list you should get you know links to these hidden videos but Rob last year in 2016 made two hundred and twenty three thousand dollars just from Amazon okay so just from Amazon and he has other affiliate programs that he's part of so Ron's doing really well so we'll we could see Rob's doing really well and you know like I said he and I business partners we we sold a site earlier this year and that was a good thing too so let's get into it this is an SEO plan for niche sites that works for authority sites too which by the way that's just semantics so some people call them authority sites some people call them niche sites okay so the link building is a game of incremental aims and again this is an idea of compound interest where you know 1% over time really adds up and you know I'm not saying these tactics in here will give you like a 1% gain every time you do something but you have to look at it that way you can't just do a bunch of work and you know a month and then expect it to just magically work out for you this is a grind this is not easy so there's nothing hard though there isn't anything like super complicated it's just showing up more days than you don't show up in doing the work okay there's a lot of text on this slide I tried not to do that too much but this is just the overview we're going to go over social profiles and turn a linking blog comments and guest posting web 2.0 blogs tvN's is private blog networks those two are grey hat by the way and next and kind of a bonus I'm going to throw this in is scholarship outreach I'm going to talk about that a little bit because it's popularized a lot in the last probably like 18 months or so first we'll get into social profiles so basically these are things you can set up probably in like an hour right this should take you like a day when you're launching your site get right into it and on that day one or day two if you haven't done this yet it's okay because you can go do it very quickly now the caveat is these are going to be nofollow links so you'r Read the full article

The single biggest reason why start-ups succeed | Bill Gross
Translator: Luan Morina Reviewer: Helena Bedalli I'm really excited to share with you some research that has surprised me for what makes companies do it, what factors really matter for initial success. I believe startup organizations are one of the greatest forms of making the world a better place. if you get a group of people with the right incentive capital and organize them as startups, you can find human potential in an impossible way before. You push them to achieve incredible things. But if a startup is great, why do many fail? This is what I wanted to find out too. I wanted to learn what matters most for their success. And I wanted to be systematic about that, Avoid some of my instincts and misperceptions I had from so many companies I have seen over the years. I wanted to know this because I started businesses since I was 12 years old when I sold candy at the bus station in elementary school, in the middle, when I was making solar energy equipment, in college when I was a vocalist. And when I graduated from college, I started a software company. And 20 years ago, I started Idealab, and in these 20 years we have started more than 100 companies, with many successes and many failures. We learned a lot from these failures. So I tried to find out which factors most affected the success and failure of the company. So I looked at these five. First, the idea. I thought the idea was everything. I named my company Idealab that I adored so much "aha!" the moment the idea first arises. Over time, I started to think that maybe the team, the execution, the adaptation, were more important than the idea. I never thought I would quote boxer Mike Tyson at TED, but he once said, "Everyone has a plan, until they punch in the face." (Laughter) And I think that applies to business as well. How important is the execution of the team so important is the adaptation to be punched in the face by the consumer. The consumer is the reality. And I came to the conclusion that the team was probably the most important thing Then I started looking at the business model. Does the company have a clear path to revenue generation by consumers This got me to the top of my mind for perhaps what he needed most for success. Then I looked at the funding. Sometimes companies receive strained funding amounts. Maybe this is more important? And of course, time. Is the idea early and the world unprepared for it? Is it early, as it were, you are in the premature and have to learn the world? Is it right? Or is it too late, and there are already too many competitors? So I tried to look carefully at these five factors across many companies. I looked through all 100 Idealab companies, and 100 non-Idealab companies to try to find something scientific about it. First, these Idealab companies, top five companies - Citysearch, CarsDirect, GoTo, NetZero, Tickets.com - all became billion-dollar successes. And the five companies at the end - Z.com, Insider Pages, MyLife, Desktop Factory, Peoplelink - we all had hopes for them, but they did not succeed. I tried to list the attributes of all of these how I felt they had succeeded in every dimension. And then for non-Idealab companies, I looked at wild successes, like Airbnb and Instagram and Uber and Youtube and LinkedIn. And some failures: Webvan, Kozmo, Pets.com Flooz and Friendster. These companies had huge funds, even business models in some cases, but they did not succeed. I tried to look at which factors mattered most for the success and failure of these companies, and the result really surprised me. The first thing was time. Time accounted for 42% of the difference between success and failure. Second place went to the team and execution, and the idea, the variability of the idea, the specificity of the idea, took third place. Now, that's not definitive, We can not say that the idea is irrelevant, but, it really surprised me that the idea was not the most important. Sometimes it was more important when it was on time. The last two, business model and financing made sense to me. The business model makes sense to be so low because when you leave without a business model add one later if customers ask what you are creating. And funding, I think, if you are underfunded at first but gain attention, especially nowadays, it is very easy to find financing. Now, let’s look at some specific cases about these. Get a success like Airbnb that we have all heard of. That company has been overlooked by many wise investors because people thought, "No one would rent the house to foreigners." Of course, people were wrong. But one of the reasons it succeeded, in addition to good business model, idea, good execution, it's time. The company appeared immediately at the time of the review when people needed money, and it helped them overcome their reluctance to lend the house to a stranger. Same with Uber. Uber appeared, incredible company and business model, excellent execution. But, the timing was so perfect for their need to bring drivers into the system. Drivers wanted to make more money; this was very important. One of the initial successes, Citysearch, appeared when people searched the web. GoTo.com, which we announced under TED in 1998, was when companies were looking for cost-effective ways to get traffic. We thought the idea was good, but, time was probably even more important. And some of our failures. We started a company called Z.com, it was an online entertainment company. We were excited for him - We raised a lot of money, we had a good business model, we recruited great Hollywood talent to join the company. But broadband penetration was low in 1999-2000. It was hard to watch video content online, had to place codecs in your browser similarly wide, and the company went out of business in 2003. Just two years later, when the codec problem was fixed with Adobe Flash and when broadband penetration increased 50% in America, YouTube was in perfect timing. Ideas, but also incredible time. In fact, YouTube did not even have a business model when it launched. She was not even sure she would succeed. But he had found the time for beauty. So, as a summary, is that execution matters a lot. The idea matters a lot. But, the right time even more. And the best way to determine the time is to see if customers are ready for what we offer you. And if we're honest about that, not to be in denial of the results you see, because if you have something you want you want to push it forward, but, you have to be very honest, about the time factor. As I mentioned above I think startups can change the world, make it a better place. Hope some of these can help you have a higher success rate, and make something great come into the world that would not have happened otherwise. Thank you so much you were wonderful audience. (Applause). Read the full article

The Best FREE Traffic Sources for New Websites
- New websites struggle to get traffic. If you have money it's easy. All you have to do is find the best ad platform where your target audience is and just pay for ads. But if you don't have money where can you find free traffic sources? Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel. And today I'm going to break down the best free traffic sources for new websites. (soft melodic music) Before we get started make sure you subscribe to this channel, and if you're on YouTube click the alert notification. So, let's dive right in. The first best free traffic source, YouTube. Look, it's the second most used search engine. I've grown my channel organically to over 490,000 subscribers, and almost one million monthly views in less than three years. So, you're probably wondering how can you get free traffic from YouTube? Well, if you're going to do YouTube you got to upload videos. When you upload videos the best thing you can do is in the first 24 hour that your video hits promote it as hard as possible. I'm not talking about paid ads. I'm talking about tell your friends about it, ask them to share it, ask them to like the video, leave a comment. Even when you're recording your videos ask people to leave a comment. For example, when I record a video like this I may ask a question such as, have you ever uploaded a YouTube video? If you have leave a comment with yes, if you haven't leave a comment with no. The biggest thing with YouTube's algorithm is how well does a video do in the first 24 hours. And that's just not view count, but it's also engagement. Another thing you can do on YouTube is tell people that hey, I got a checklist or a cheat sheet on my website. So, when you have a website and you're creating these YouTube videos, and you tell people to go to a specific URL on your site, you'll find that people will manually type that in and you'll get free traffic to your website. I've done that in the past, it works extremely well. Just don't use it with every single video that you create because then it'll get burned out, but do it when you have something amazing to offer for free. The second source of traffic that you can get is by offering a free Udemy course. According to SimilarWeb, Udemy gets over 68 million visitors a month. That's a lot of traffic. The cool thing about people that are on Udemy is they're always looking to learn new things. You can give away a free course, all the PDFs, the workbooks, the checklists, the downloadables, and host them on your site. That way people from Udemy will then go over to your site. It's a great way, plus those people are super engaged. When someone watching a five, 10, 20, 30-minute video on Udemy and they're learning, you bet that when they go over to your site they're much more likely to convert because they're super engaged. You're building amazing connection, amazing rapport with them. You're also building the trust. That's going to help also convert those visitors into customers as well. The third traffic source I have for you, podcast tours. You're probably wondering, podcast tours? I don't want to put a podcast on my website. I'm not telling you to go out there and create your own podcast, but there's a lot of other podcasts out there that do interviews with other people. Look for all those podcasts. You can look at the iTunes Store, you can look at Google because Google now indexes podcasts. Search for ones that interview a lot of other people. Pitch them to be on their show, and talk about what you can offer to their audience that'll be valuable. Now, during your interview make sure you share your URL, your website, and give them something for free that they can get on your website so that way they have to go to your site. It gives them a reason versus just being like ah, I'm too lazy to type in the URL. But when you give them something really good, they'll go to your website and you'll start converting all those podcast listeners into visitors. And that'll turn into email addresses, consulting calls, and even sales for your products or services. The fourth traffic source, Pinterest and Tailwind Tribes. So, you've all seen Pinterest. They're publicly traded now. They're really huge, and when you're on Pinterest you want to get a ton of Pins. because the more Pins you have the more attention it draws, and the more people that'll be coming to your site in the long haul. So, here's what I want you to do with Pinterest. I want you to look for boards with already 20 Pins on them each. If you look for boards that already have 20 Pins, you're likely to do better using this strategy. Then you'll need to add some images. And you can create them on canva.com for free, and point those images to your best blog articles. Now, when you do this that image has to be related to your blog article. I can't just post up dog images on Pinterest and say hey, check out my marketing articles. That's not going to work. But if it's relevant it will work. Then you'll need to subscribe to Tailwind's free trial account, no credit card required, and then next step is you want to click Find a Tribe tab and start looking for tribes within your niche. You just have to type in keywords and you'll find tons of them. And all you have to do is share the best content from other members in these tribes, and then others will start sharing yours too. By doing this you'll start seeing more and more Pins, that'll get you a higher chance of getting more people to your own site. It works super well. The key to doing this is you want to share 30 to 50 Pins a day. That'll allow you to do really well, and here's a trick. Tailwinds allows you to schedule them so that way you don't have to do them all at once. The fifth traffic source, hosting virtual summits. Pick a really specific topic, in other words you want a niche, for your event. Because if you don't have a niche, everyone's already doing conferences on marketing, or pets, or whatever it may be. If you're going to do one on marketing don't just pick SEO. You can pick a whole event just on link building, or a whole event on Facebook, social media shares, or whatever it may be. So, when you get super specific you're much more likely to do better. Then package it in a way that makes it really interesting. For example, if I was doing it for just say Facebook, I would do it for Facebook organic reach, and then offer PDF action guides, templates, swipe files, checklists, cheat sheets. All this will allow people to be like, oh my God, this is going to be amazing. Let me put in my email, join, tell other people about it. Then you decide about the format. Should it just be crash courses, interviews, slideshow presentations, how long will it be, will there be live Q and A? Once you figure that all out you'll have your format, or you can do a mix of a little of everything, to be honest, and have different speakers. And before you host your event start building relationships with other influencers and have them as guests. But when they're there as a guest make sure they also push this out to their list and tell other people about it because it'll help give them more press as well. And of course, you're using everyone that's pushing it. You're getting this master list, and you're promoting each and every single speaker which helps them as well. And when you do this virtual event you want to make sure that people can go to your website for the files, the cheat sheets, the videos, the recordings, this will help get more people to your site. Make sure you also have a funnel. Because when these people go to your site you want to make sure that you're selling on more stuff. Because once someone's engaged for hours in your virtual summit, there's a really good chance that you can upsell them into the recorded version of that event. You can even upsell them into other products or services that are related to that event. Now keep in mind, I told you when you're doing a virtual event you need to pick a niche, but that niche also needs to be related to the products and services that you sell. because if it's not related you're not going to do that well. The sixth free traffic source, Facebook Groups. Facebook reported during their second quarter earnings call that 200 million users are members of meaningful groups. These are also communities that people are participating in day-to-day interactions with other Facebook members. That number has basically doubled from the previous year. Because of privacy concerns, Facebook is shifting their focus from its traditional public News Feeds to more private experiences through groups. That's what they said during May 2019 during the FA Conference. So, that just means Facebook Groups is a huge potential for you to get more traffic from. What I want you to do is start sharing other people's content within the group. I want you to participate and engage by leaving comments, help other people out, answer their questions. And then once you do this for a while, and when I mean a while I'm talking about a few weeks straight, then start posting articles and videos related to the stuff that you're producing. This will drive people to your website. If it's a video, in that video you'll be talking about how people can download a cheat sheet or a ebook when they go to a specific URL to your site. That indirectly will also drive more traffic to your website. Remember, Facebook wants people to stay on their platform so the articles won't do as well as videos. But if you're using videos you need to make sure you're telling people where they can go on your site to get the extra goodies. That's how you're going to get that free traffic from Facebook. All right, so I know I just went over a lot of tactics and you're probably overwhelmed. If you need someone to do it for you you can just check out my ad agency, Neil Patel Digital, but here's what I want you to do. Just take one of those tactics and implement what you just learned. If you do that you're much more likely to succeed. You don't have to do all of them right away. So, thank you for watching. If you enjoyed the video like it, share it, subscribe to the channel. Pinterest Ads Tutorial 2020 - Pinterest Advertising 101 - Get Pinterest Traffic from $0.1 a Click!
Did you know that you can get targeted visitors from Pinterest for as low as 10 cents per click? Yes! You heard me right - 10 cents for a user who actually searched for the keyword you want to rank for. And I'm talking about visitors from the United States, Canada and other countries where you can hardly get ad clicks for so cheap from Google Facebook or Instagram. If you've ever tried advertising on other platforms you know that over time the competition and market demand are driving ad costs a lot higher and if there is a good time to try Pinterest ads it must be now when the price per click is incredibly low since Pinterest IPO in 2019 you probably hear too many times that now they will focus more on building a stronger advertising platform because the company now is public and they need to really show a steady revenue growth this means that Pinterest will improve ad targeting and conversion tracking this year which will make promoted pins even more attractive to advertisers hi I'm Anastasia of Anastasia blogger.com I'm a Pinterest marketing expert and in this video I will show you first how to drive traffic campaigns on Pinterest to get targeted visitors for just 10 cents a click and convert them into buyers on your site and you will get a step-by-step guide for starting a traffic campaign with promoted pins and I will also make a quick overview of other campaign types available on Pinterest at the moment so now let's dive into all of this good stuff so our Pinterest ads really was it all the prejudice against Pinterest ads starts from the wrong assumption that Pinterest is just another social media platform like Facebook or Instagram but what many people don't realize is that Pinterest works more like a search engine like Google so when you advertise on Pinterest you can target audiences which are interested in your topic or even are looking for the exact keyword you want to target if you live outside of the United States it's quite possible that you didn't encounter that many promoted pins in your Pinterest feed yet and that's because Pinterest ads are not here available globally it also depends on the niche because in fashion and print on demand for example you will find a ton of sponsored pins but in some niches like personal development or relationship advice for example you will hardly find that many promoted pins if you never seen a promoted pin here is how it looks like this pin from Taiwan team is a promoted pin this is another promoted pin so you can see that these pins show up in a user smart feed or maybe search results in this case along with organic pins and visually it's pretty hard to tell the difference because Pinterest only mentions that it's an ad at the bottom of the pin so if you're on a mobile device and they are scrolling down the feed you see each pin one by one you first will see the top part and most probably the bottom part where it says that the pin is promoted will not even show up but the main difference is that when users click on a promoted pin they are immediately sent to a landing page and when they click on a regular pin the pin is just going to open and then they need to make a second click if they want to go to the website so it's easier to get click throughs with promoted pins and I've got a few interesting stats which will show you the potential of Pinterest ads let's call them six reasons why you should try Pinterest advertising so the first reason is that the platform is an active growth stage so you can grow with Pinterest and you can be an early adopter of their advertising system you can get visitors to your site for as low as 10 cents per click and obviously with more competition over time the prices will keep growing like on any other platform but now is probably the best time to try Pinterest at the second reason is buyer intent about 50% of Pinterest users products after they see a promoted pin the third reason is that 67% of people discover new brands and products while prior browsing on Pinterest because the majority of users on Pinterest they don't have a specific brand in mind they're just in this discovery mode they want to get inspiration so most of the searches on Pinterest are unbranded people are open to discover new brands and products the next interesting fact is that about 35% of all Pinterest users make more than $75,000 per year and 90% of weekly users use Pinterest to make purchase decisions and last but not least this is a very important number that advertisers get about two dollars in profit for every dollar spent on Pinterest let me just show you my account to demonstrate that I'm not joking about 10 cents a click so here are my ads I'll go to reporting and you can see here that for some ads I'm getting 10 cents a click and for some I'm even paying 9 cents a click because the algorithm drives the CPC even lower because the ad is very relevant or it gets more conversions now that the benefits of Pinterest ads are clear let's look at how to get started with promoted pins so first you need to set up a business account so what you are looking at right now is a business account okay the these are the features of business account I have at support I have analytics I have ads dashboard if you using a personal account you don't have any of this you don't have Pinterest analytics and you cannot run Pinterest ads so to make it clear if you're using Pinterest to promote any website and drive traffic to any website you must use a business account I will give you a link under the video in the description to a blog post where I give you an instruction how to start a business account or how to convert from personal to a business account it's not a diff process it's very easy you'll do it really quickly so when your business account is set up you can start running ads on Pinterest if you've ever run ads on Facebook you will quickly understand what's going on on Pinterest dashboard let me go to my dashboard and show you how it looks like so we have here let's go to traffic campaigns because that's what I run the ads and so you will see here that you have several levels it's campaigns ad groups and ads level and let me give you a quick overview if in case you're unfamiliar with these terms so on the campaign level you defined the objective of your campaign so objectives are here they can be awareness traffic conversions video right for app installs and and some other objectives the most common is probably traffic campaign but if you are running an e-commerce site and shopping would be probably the best option for you now I'm looking at the settings for ad group level and here you can pick the placements for ads the placements can be in the Pinterest Smart feed or in search results or you can pick both of them on this level you can also select the targeted audience bands based on their location right you can pick locations in different countries you can go down to select some interests of your audience and you can even define the keywords over here and here is the keyword research tool that you can use on Pinterest to find additional keywords so if you type in here vegan you will see some suggested keywords and you can start adding them just by clicking on this plus you can also tell Pinterest for how many days you want to run an ad or maybe if you don't want to have a specific dates you can just keep it with an open date and you can also define here the daily budget or the lifetime budget usually the easiest waste to define the daily budget and you can decide how much you you're willing to pay per-click now we're going to the ad level and here you can select one of your recent pins here we go I just click on the pin and then I click on review ads and here I can change the destination URL add some UTM codes to my promoted pin so I can track promoted pin clicks in my Google Analytics so let's quickly create the most standard type of ads on Pinterest its promoted pins with traffic objective so I first need to go to create add and I will pick traffic I will just decide that I want to spend for example one dollar per day on this ad I'll go continue and look at the ad group level here I will choose for example people who live in all United States locations I will speak people in these age groups for example and then I'll go to I want just to target people who actively searched for my ad I'll go to select some keywords here it is here's a little hack if you work in a specific niche you can make keyword research either here on Pinterest or even in Google Keyword research tool and then you just keep this list of keywords somewhere on a separate file and then every time you need to create an ad you just copy/paste the list and put it here but for now let's try to search for anything related to Pinterest Pinterest login Pinterest marketing Pinterest tips Pinterest what else Pinterest strategy so I'm just showing you some keywords that could be relevant to my ad and you can always look at the right side and look at potential audience size so in this case I'm I'm seeing that it's a little bit narrow so either I want to increase the number of keywords here but that will take some time you can put up to whatever number one sometimes I have a hundred keywords here targeting you can also increase this number by changing the locations adding more countries you can remove some of them age restrictions that you selected languages I forgot to talk about here so by default it will select all but you can target people that only use English we can say that we want to spend one dollar for this ad and I will just put the minimum the minimum budget is ten cents it will tell me that it's too low but it will still run the ad I mean at least it my niche it it runs my ads even with this low cost per click then I'll go to continue and here you can select one of your recent pins you can use any existing ads but let's say I want to use this pin review as the spin goes actual to my YouTube video but who cares let's imagine that I wanted to run an ad to go to my YouTube video so I'll go to Google Google campaign URL builder we'll put here the website link campaign source interest CPC and here we'll go for example and that's the link we can now copy don't use the shortener I'll tell you later why copy the URL and we copy paste this URL here and after I click lunch Pinterest will review my ad within 24 hours so these are some of the rules you have to remember when you are selecting the pin to promote and defining the URL I already recommend to you using Google UTM builder to create a different URL from your organic pin URL because changing the destination URL on a promoted pin will not change the destination URL of your original organic pin which is great because it helps you track the clicks from promoted pins separately in Google Analytics but these are the rules that you have to remember when you're creating promoted pins first you cannot promote from another profile second you cannot use pins saved to secret boards then you obviously cannot promote any pins that don't link to any external URL and then you cannot use link shorteners for the destination URL so so that's what I try to emphasize when we were building the link in Google UTM builder that you shouldn't use the URL shortener and now you also cannot use third-party videos or gifs now Pinterest has several other types of ad campaigns I already showed you how to create a traffic campaign because I found them the most efficient of all campaign objectives available for me from my account from my website but depending on your website and depending on what you are promoting you might be interested in testing video ads or app installs or even awareness campaigns if you are a big brand and actually I wanted to note here that conversion campaigns might also be quite interesting for me but my account doesn't yet meet the minimum requirements for running a conversion campaign I would need to have at least 50 sign up conversions in the last seven days and I'm actually getting around 10 or 15 per on average you can see these conversions in performance report so I'm just going down here and I'll show you what we have it shows by default for the last seven days so that's what I need to look for so for the last seven days I've had twelfth sign up conversions which is not enough we need 50 conversions to have conversion campaigns available now it can get a little more technical because I will show you how really quickly how you can track those conversions on your site and you need to have Pinterest tag installed so where is the Pinterest tag we need to go to conversions over here and you'll see the Pinterest tag I have several already created I'll open this one so you can see that you can install first the code this code has needs to go between your hat tags in the HTML code of the side this is the base code and then you have event codes so that's how I'm tracking my signup conversions I have this event code for signups let's look at the sign up conversion here but you can have other types of conversions even page visit but for conversion campaigns you need to have signups or maybe lead lead type of conversions and you need to have 50 of them in the last seven days so we're looking now at the different types of conversions you can even have checkout conversion and you have to install this piece of code on the specific page where you want this event to be fired and by the way when you have your Pinterest tag installed you can also go to audiences and create a few audiences to retarget your ads to people who've visited your site earlier so you can advertise to visitors who visit your site or some specific pages of your site you can upload a list of your customers you can create an audience based on people who engage with your pins and also you can create an actor like audience based on the audience's you've created earlier so you can see that Pinterest is working hard on improving their ads targeting and retargeting options and on better conversion tracking and on analytics for advertisers so whether you are completely new to Pinterest ads or maybe you've tried them and you didn't see good results I'm going to tell you a little secret today I'm working now on a detailed Pinterest Ads course and if you want to be invited to the best test of this course when it's ready go to the page I will give you a link in the description of this video and go to that page and leave your email or connect with my page on Facebook so I can send you an invitation as soon as the course is open in better if this information helps you make sure to share it with your friends do the thumbs up and follow my channel because I specialize on Pinterest marketing and I share the most current tips about this platform every Thursday I'll see you in the next videos Read the full article

TOP 5 Digital Marketing Tools for Startups (INCREASE Traffic to your WEBSITE)
What's up, guys? I'm Mallory Graham and today I'm going to be talking about the best digital marketing tools that you should use to increase your online traffic to your business. If you want to start focusing on driving more online traffic to your website and you don't know which are the best tools to help you do that, by the end of this video, you'll know the five top digital marketing tools that you should start using to gain traffic for your startup. Now, before we get into the tools, be sure to hit subscribe and also hit the bell so you get notified every time I post a brand new video. If you guys are using any of these tools for your business, please let me know which tools you're using in the comments below. Now let's get into it. The first tool for increasing traffic to your website is Google Analytics. Google Analytics allows you to see which pages are driving traffic and which ones are performing well. It allows you to see where your leads are coming from and which pages or pieces of content are bringing in the traffic. If your bounce rates are higher than other pages, then it means that that page is a good traffic driver, but that page is also not converting visitors into buyers. Ask yourself how you can leverage those posts that aren't converting to keep those visitors on your website, and how you can create more content that is leading to higher conversions. Do you guys use Google Analytics for your content decisions? Let me know in the comments below. Now, the second tool for increasing traffic to your website is Leadpages. Leadpages is a digital marketing tool that helps you generate leads for your business. Their landing page builder, pop-up builder and other tools allows you to easily sign up interested subscribers to your email list. Building your email list is very important for your startup because it creates an engaged audience that is already interested in what you have to say. Someone on your email list is a much warmer lead than say, someone who has never heard of you before. Having a leadpage in place will give you the foundation for attracting new leads to your business on an ongoing basis. Leadpages takes all of the stress out of designing and configuring the freebie signup process where people can enter their emails and sign up for the Freebie that you've created and get them started in the sales funnel. Your email list will generate more online traffic to your business because every week when you are sharing new content with the world, you can direct your email subscribers to that new piece of content on your website. Now the third digital marketing tool for increasing traffic to your website is PushCrew. PushCrew is a push notifications tool that allows you to ask website visitors to subscribe to notifications from your website. You can then send out a notification for any new content to all those folks who have subscribed. There are lots of push notification tools out there. This is just the one that I have found the easiest to set up and to use, and PushCrew has a free plan up to 2000 subscribers. You may ask, how is this going to generate more traffic? Well, push notifications is just another way of bringing visitors back to your website. They may or may not be on your email list already, but it's a quick way to just send them a reminder that you have a new content, new update that they might be interested in. Now the fourth digital marketing tool for generating more online traffic to your startup business is MailChimp. MailChimp is a very popular email service provider that is free up to 2000 subscribers. There are countless email service providers out there, all at different price points and they all do somewhat similar things. But for a startup business, MailChimp is the best solution for three reasons. The first reason is price. The value that you're getting for the price you're paying beats out the competition any day. The second reason is it's very, very simple to use and the emails look great. Now the third reason that MailChimp is the best solution for startups is because functionalities such as Google remarketing ads are very expensive with other email service providers as they're generally offered as add-ons or upgrades, and with MailChimp it's available in their free package. Now, how is this going to generate more traffic? Well, the email service will not only allow you to send out emails notifying your subscribers of your new online content, but the added features like Google remarketing ads, shows ads to people who have already been to your website. And these can perform very well because people have already seen you before, so they're much more likely to come back for more. Have you guys used Google remarketing ads before? Let me know in the comments below. Now, the fifth digital marketing tool for increasing your online traffic is the Facebook ads mobile app. The Facebook ads mobile app is amazing for startup businesses, or if you're just getting started running your own ads. As a startup, you likely don't have a huge budget to hire a Facebook ads agency to run all of your Facebook ads for you. So this is a great way to start because the desktop version of Facebook ads can be somewhat intimidating if you've never used it before. I'm going to pull this up so that you guys can see how the Facebook ads mobile app works right up here. On the mobile app, you can create a Facebook ad campaign, import the images you want for your ad right from your phone or select an existing post that has already received some engagement, but you haven't put any money behind it yet. You can then choose your audience based on the amount of previous engagement or set the parameters for a brand new audience. You can do this all right from your phone and it's very easy if it's your first time running Facebook ads. Then you set your budget and your schedule and you're good to go. Have you guys used the Facebook ads mobile app to create ads before? Please let me know in the comments below. If you guys are looking for a step by step process to create a digital marketing strategy, download my digital marketing guide at the link in the description. If you like this video, please let me know by hitting the like button. Let me know what you liked in the comments. Be sure to subscribe and share it with your fellow entrepreneurs. Thank you so much for watching, guys. I hope you have a fantastic day and I'll see you next time. Read the full article

How She Makes $200 - $500 Per Day Using Shopify (FREE TRAFFIC)
what's going on guys welcome back to another video and today I have a special guest and she's gonna tell us how she makes between 200 to 500 dollars per day with Shopify without doing any advertising so she does know advertising she gets all the good traffic for free and what I'm going to do is go through some questions on my phone because I don't really know the full story I know what she does in sales I think she's my partner so I should know but I don't know everything so we're gonna go through some questions and ask her what she sells what kind of traffic she gets and basically how she does it right so we're going straight into this post well let you know that she is doing something that probably no one is doing however this is really really easy to implement you can do this pretty much anywhere in the world and actually we're in a small country New Zealand well we only have about five million in our entire country so it's actually quite hard to do so if you're in a bigger city a bigger country this will be really easy for you to do so the first question we'll be asking her is what do you sell thank you thank you so what I sell is at the moment I'll go to new fifth stores and I will find branded items that I can resell online through an auction sites and also on my Shopify and at the moment I focus on brands that are related to like New Zealand Australia and sell those alright guys so basically what she does is she goes to second-hand stores and she finds products mainly branded because that makes her the most money and she sells them online but it's not really what she sells I mean it's really easy to go to find products anywhere with her a bit of store whatever it's how she actually sells it so the interesting part is how she actually so she doesn't send traffic directly to her Shopify store from ads Facebook Google Ads and stuff like that it's all organic it's not Google traffic or anything like that so the next question will be how do you get the traffic to what could you do two things first of all you sell on auction sites yeah and that's you make a little bit of money from that so she sells on places like eBay here in New Zealand called trade me and stuff but what how do you get traffic from your Shopify sorry from those web sites or anywhere else on the Internet to your Shopify store so at the moment I sell on auction sites and I actually put in the bio a link to my Shopify website and I say that if they want to get an additional discount to go through there and which actually works really well because obviously they're looking for branded items out of a juice price anyways if they see like get an additional discount if you purchase directly from me through my Shopify store and it seems to work well plus they also get their email addresses which is you know what we're trying to achieve at the end of the day I also go on to a variety of forums clothing ones accessories bags everything and I'm quite active on there I've also got a link to my website in my signature all of my forum websites so that way people can click through there and see my items which I will also post on the forum depending on what conversations going on at the time all right guys so what she does is like everyone is focusing on Facebook and stuff but she's making up to 500 dollars per day with free traffic and not much work so as far as I'm aware I don't know I'm not I'm not sure of what she does in the forum but she comments some people's posts and as active on forums I think one of them was called post forum calm where people talk about clothing and stuff and then they click on a link in this signature go to a store and there might purchase and stuff like that but she'll also gets a lot of traffic from places like eBay trade me other option sites and she offers a discount and say hey if you purchased for us here you discount wish she gives an exchange the customers email and if she can do it you know you do email marketing stuff as well yeah email marketing and stuff as well yeah so now most of you guys when you think about brands you probably think of a lawyer Teuton Prada Gucci and stuff like that but she she does find sick sick and Hannah Gucci and Louis Vuitton it makes quite a bit of money but her main brands I think was my next question what kind of brands do you sell local brands because this this is the main stuff but every country has designers and their own brands that people are trying to push a special instagram now stuff like that so you can make good money with local brands as well and one thing to mention is well they're really hard to come by so I don't come by big luxury brands often when I do it's amazing because obviously the margin there is huge but it doesn't always happen so I do focus on things that are local yes so what do you do have anything you can show us yes I literally just pick these up a couple days ago so this here is a Camilla and Mark jacket so I got this for $80 which is a bit more than what I would spend when it comes to secondhand clothing but the reason being is because this actual jacket was in sale or in the stores last season for $900 so I'm should be able to turn this around for at least 4 or $500 I'll do it for $500 on the auction sites then I'll offer it and then I'll have another lower charge on my Shopify page which also kind of entices people to purchase through there instead of through the other websites I've also got I've also got just a denim skirt here um I feel like denim sells really well this is ketsu B which is an Australian brand and like this these like I'll sell this in the first guy I paid $10 for this yet and they retail for about 180 dollars so I should be able to make at least 90 to 100 dollars for this skirt and like I said most of the brands with this brand in particular I will sell in the first go I'm putting it up now guys if you don't know my story I actually started drop shipping back in 2009 doing something similar to this so I would go into a website called China Beijing calm find cell phones and sell them on auction sites but she's kind of done the same thing with because the thing is she loves clothing and going shopping and I said to why don't you just sell this stuff online I wasn't really um I didn't know how she was doing I didn't actually realize she was on forums getting traffic that way I knew she was doing at auction sites and I'm still in the traffic to Shopify but she's doing something she loves with his shopping like she goes out where you got you spin up how much time you spend each week shopping for these clothes like um each week a couple of hours give or take it depends on my mood as well if I'm in a good mood I could spend like half a day shopping if I'm lucky and I'm finding a lot of things it also puts me in a better mood so I mean I could spend anywhere from a couple of hours to half to five six hours depending close how many hours do per week kind of running everything like I mean not including to find the clothes but processing sales been active on the forum and I mean adoption stuff's not that hard is perfect an option yeah but I mean how many hours a week do you think you spend doing that not many um it's probably less than a part-time job yeah so yeah so you don't know but you obviously know a nine-to-five job so her job is is going to finding these clothes doing something she likes I don't know if you like to shop do you like selling stuff or as a divided attain okay well she likes selling as well so she's doing something she likes and and everyone's kind of like fighting over this Facebook traffic and stuff that she's found a little niche pocket of people that she can sell specific stuff to so guys this you could wear in New Zealand there's only five million or five and a half million people in our entire country LA New York have millions of people and you can do this type of stuff there's nothing stopping you Canada huge country Australia way bigger than us here and you guys have your own brands on the brand nasty girl who pretty much started a multi-billion a multi-million dollar company just starting off selling secondhand clothing so people are doing it all over the world just depends on how far you want to go with it yeah so that's really it guys so what you what you want to do is you can even go to garage sales and find things to sell just yeah I know this is probably for more woman because I don't think guys are really going to be going out I mean I don't know the guy of clothing niche but you can go in and find stuff to sell as nearly closed find stuff to sell go on to auction sites use those option sites for traffic make sure you read their policies you might not be able to take the traffic off the site but use those oxygen sites for traffic send them to your Shopify store offer a discount and then you can also be active on forums don't spam the forums but just be active have a link in your signature and gradually you will get organic traffic and use Pinterest as well but we were not really go into Pinterest but she uses Pinterest in a box and she schedules 20 to 30 posts per day and they get ranked in Google not really for selling she just repost other people's content but when she wants to sell products she will post that product on Pinterest we don't know if it's getting much traffic or anything we've already checked that by yeah does so that's really a day and I just wanted to share this with you guys because I don't really think I don't think a lot of people understand that there's so many ways you can make money with Shopify you don't have to do drop shipping although this is probably little bit harder like sometimes you have surplus clothes that you can't sell but then you just sell it even if you sell it what you pay for your kids oh yeah exactly exactly not not everything's gonna sell um so as long as I can get my money back and it pays the fees then I'm happy with that I mean it cuz it is it's a it's a hobby I love doing it like a few so we'll have much about school for $10 so sheep like scared for 10 bucks you couldn't sell it in two weeks and she and she you want to get rid of she's gonna sell it for 10 bucks or 20 bucks and she better flipped that for 20 bucks easier right yes so that's double the money just I mean obviously she wants to get 90 80 90 bucks but she's she's selling at least one or two items of a legit you make three four hundred dollar profit on that that's and how many times did you find in a month yeah yeah easy quick recently I got a pair of Gucci shoes from at this Designer Outlet Store for five hundred dollars and I sold them for 1,100 on eBay there you go guys so get your hustle on she's actually hustling more than me right now been a bit lazy but she is getting the grind on every day taken employment wakes up earlier than me most of the most mornings anyway guys that's it for this video make sure you hit the like and subscribe and remember I give away stuff in every single video information that is in the description below and the pinned comment I'll see you guys in the next video and I actually leave a link to one of her videos below where she talks about more about this and tips on how to sell clothing online I'll see you guys next video you Read the full article

#1 Reason Your Website is Getting Traffic but No Sales (And How to Fix It)
- Hi everyone, Neil Patel is here for another Thursday Q&A I'm here with Adam from Viewership. - Hi Guys. - And we have another question that many of you asked what's the Adam question? - This question comes from Aniket, and basically they created a website about a month ago and have done a lot really well on facebook and Instagram promotions plus some AdWords campaigns though they don't see any traction with sales. So, do you have any tips for them to help improve sales when they get traffic? - When you get traffic and you don't get any sales it's usually early because you don't get it the right kind of traffic. Yes, there is something called conversion optimization which many of you already know but you shouldn't focus on conversion optimization from day one, it's more than just generating a couple of sales. When you start a website You are likely at zero sales and you're like yeah i'll interject some facebook traffic i will throw in some Instagram traffic, I'll interject some youtube traffic and i will crush it. That's not how it works. Social media traffic doesn't convert as well like google bio, pay facebook or not facebook, paid google ads, paid bing ads, facebook ads and social media ads can generate traffic As you already know and you are great at it. - For sure. - But here's the thing. When you throw traffic from YouTube to a website, what happens? - I mean it converts no? - It does-- - It converts for me. - But when I bid on Google AdWords. - Yes. - And I get 100 visitors. I'm much more likely to convert than if I go 100 clicks from YouTube. - For sure. - Why this? - I don't know, you tell me. - Okay so, with youtube the intent is not always there. When someone googles - you say google search, I got confused because AdWords is too for YouTube ads. - Yes that is true. - I have it. - AdWords is also for YouTube, that's a good point. - Yes. - I'm talking about AdWords specifically for searching. - Yes. - Not your display network-- - totally. - Not YouTube or something. - Exactly. - But if someone is looking to fix my iPhone screen or my broken iPhone screen - right. - You are much more likely to convert into a customer as if you are displaying advertisements to everyone who is watching Watch YouTube videos - Law, so instead of just showing ad versus search basically, there is an intention. - Correct. And the main point that I'm trying to convey is when you start your brand new website You have to go on sale. It doesn't matter if it's profitable more than you are looking for the channels convert that and those who don't. So focus on Google AdWords, focus on Bing ads and you want to check SEMrush, enter your competitor urls and it will show you where to go Majority of their traffic from. It shows you two parts. Where they get their organic traffic and wherever they get their paid traffic from. Just because someone comes in a lot of organic traffic from a few keywords, That doesn't mean it's what drives sales but if they are consistently bid on certain conditions for the google search network you can usually assume that these keywords drive sales and you can use SEMrush to find out. And when you figure it out, what's causing the sales then you can concentrate from there, These are the key words that drive sales let's focus on SEO and get rankings over time. You won't get the results in three months, six months It will take over a year. Then you can say, hey let's create content on these topics because if that's what people are looking for Before they buy, content marketing should help too. And it's not just text-based content. It could be video based content like on YouTube and with your video based content, you are driving sales. - Yes. And search sales, search content on YouTube too also definitely helps. - That's right. And I know that you don't reveal your earnings But would you say you do? over five figures per year? - Yes. - Did you make over six figures a year? - Yes. - All right, I'll stop there, but. (chuckles) I'm like next i will ... - Yes exactly. (laugh) - As you can see, Adam's main channel is YouTube. - Yes. - And you can do well on YouTube, it takes time, How long did it take you? build your YouTube channel? - My first or my second? My first took about six months to a year got over a million views before I really started. - And how much did you know? via YouTube marketing when did you start? - Nothing. - And you were just consistent. - I was just consistent and get going and you learn how to walk and-- - How many videos do you have? has to be produced per week? - I only do my other channel for a week. - Okay and what is it? Keys to content creation that's good, it drives income from social media like YouTube or Facebook using video. - Huh, I mean, there are really three things. You are emotional, have emotionally exciting videos, Two optimizes them. - Wow, let's go back to the first one. - Okay. - That's how I remember before we started shooting this video you told me adam is my video guy And he told me, hey, you don't give enough emotion - Yes. - What were your tips? When you're angry, I want you to convey trouble when you-- - I want you to be pissed off, Neil, I'm like, You know, he's as kind of a gentle as a great guy, so i try to like make it work i'm like does it annoy you when people ask you these kinds of questions or does it make you happy? does it make you excited does it make you sad That's the kind of stuff that gets these things shared and that will do what You are sharing this video, right? - Okay, what's the second tip? - Optimize. Like, simply optimize thumbnails, headings, keywords, you'll see-- - Wow, you're going too fast. - I am sorry. - Let's go back with thumbnails. Every time you tip it has to be action based so what thumbnails do you need to insert your thumbnails? - So pay attention to the preview image that an image currently has really stand out as much as possible and have text in the preview and the thumbnail just basically, evokes a kind of curiosity. So you know you are competing against every other thumbnail on YouTube and the key is just What is yours doing more? clickable than others. - Cool, next one. - Within the optimization or further? - Yes within the optimization. - Inside the optimization is headline. You know if you can spend two hours making your video I want you to spend six hours when creating your headline, it's so important I mean headlines are everything when it comes to marketing. - Yes, the same goes for content marketing When your headlines suck, I don't care how great Your content is, nobody reads it. The stat is eight out of ten people will read your headline two out of ten will click through and look or read the rest or your content. - Yes exactly. I mean that's a lot of the work we do and spy on your competitors, you know who is working on youtube and see if you can create a piece of content you know what it looks like in this video I don't even know where we went with this video but we go-- - This video is about a website You just started it, you don't get no sales what should you do? - Exactly. - Then we went into video marketing and how you can generate revenue from it. What is the next step? - And then the next step would be adding tags in descriptions and stuffing it with keywords. - And what is a tool that you can use? to find all tags and descriptions? - VidIQ is an amazing tool that we use. - And the third tip? - Third tip is if you are a business that is growing it Use Google AdWords to improve your videos Use paid campaigns to get your channel up and running at least in the first place. - Yes, and we will include it in this video We didn't run any paid YouTube ads before and we took our channel, what were the stats from? It was like less than 100,000 views or somewhere around there we can do it now over 400,000 views per month. - Organically. - Organically. But the trick we used ads to increase the number and get that tension and then even after you quit the advertising you can still get the traffic, so don't think about advertising on YouTube how you have to keep spending money or else you will lose the views you take to build a community and then you can carry on traffic over and over again. - Exactly. And you basically signal YouTube You are like hey this channel is legit People watch your videos. When people don't see your videos and you put all the money in if people are just watching it for 30 seconds, click away, the ad expenses are not worth it. But for Neil's videos like, they're good content, right? So people watch them there is great audience loyalty, So the more money we put in People learn about them and then they want to see more. It only produces a show It's like producing a TV show. - Okay, let's do a quick recap. You start your website you don't get any sales Don't focus on conversion optimization, go to SEMrush instead, type in your competitors urls, find out all the keywords that she is constantly Spend money on paid advertising month after month These are the ones you should have been spitting ads on, see if that drives conversions, once you have sales, You can then figure out how to make it more profitable by adjusting your bids or optimizing your advertising campaigns, Then you can start creating content, text base content, Video-based content, could be audio content, all of these keywords This is how you get the organic SEO juice or the organic reach or traffic from YouTube and in the long run that will be starting to bring you sales. Once you come across one several hundred sales a month or at least a few hundred leads Because you could be in B to B or lead collection even B to C, some of them are leading, then you can start getting into conversion optimization but if your brand new don't start with facebook ads, Don't start with YouTube ads, Just start with paid Google AdWords. Yes it is more expensive but the conversion rates will be higher and it's a lot easier to always get more google traffic in the long run than it is to get social media traffic because Facebook is constantly changing its algorithm and it just pumps your traffic every time that it happens. - Yes! For sure. Maybe we'll do a video for next week on the new Facebook algorithm, I know a lot of people have questions about this. - Right. So thank you for watching If you liked this video, like it, share it, Comment, tell everyone about it. If you have any other question you want answered on our weekly Q&A Thursday videos, just leave a comment with this question. - We read them all. - We all read and we can choose. We meet next week. - See you.. Read the full article
