When he was compared to a vigilante, Dae snorted. Loudly. Naturally, he couldn't tell, but didn't care if he did either. The idea of haunting the streets every night, wearing some uncomfortable, silly costume was plain absurd. Sorry to disappoint you, but you're not going to see me in a latex suit any time soon. He told Roman, lips flattening into a thin line. He supposed that wasn't a wrong assumption to make, given the fact the necromancer couldn't help intervene when it came to children or animals, as he had a soft spot for both. The moment the gun was pulled out, so did Dae's weapon of choice. A dagger, with some patterns engraved along the handle. A dagger he actually used when those he murdered were meant to be serve as a sacrifice to his god. Dae didn't blink an eye, he allowed the threat to be made, his spine straight and his stare unflinching. Clear as crystal, my lord. He forced his face into the sweetest expression he could muster, a sign that he was being sarcastic as all hell. After the gun was removed from his face, he brought his dagger up and against Roman's neck, the sharp point directed at his pulse point. If he was threatened, Dae felt compelled to do the same in return. I'll have whatever you're having. That same saccharine expression stayed as the dagger disappeared back under Dae's sleeve.
⋆ ❤︎ 🐾 ˖ ࣪𓂂 . They deserved it. That's fucking vague. There were a caliber of things Roman would consider someone deserving of death that many would, and have, disagreed on. So he knew it really depended on the individual making that call. And as Dae keeps writing Roman can't help but wonder where that line was for this man.
Eyes follow hand as he writes before looking back up at him once it's fully shown his way. "How noble." Why he was seeking refuge here is beyond Roman considering he had no real morals. But at least Roman can say he wasn't out here kidnapping kids. But he doesn't really give a fuck about them either. Not to the extent Dae clearly did.
"I hope you're not looking to become one of those vigilante's out here in Gotham. Because you're barking up the wrong fucking tree if that's the case." Gun's pulled out from beneath blazer to emphasize that and also as a not so subtle warning. A little pat to the other's cheek with weapon before putting it back in holster. "I don't give a fuck who you killed, as long as it wasn't some of my people. And since I don't do business like that I think we're in the clear."
A pause. "You want a drink?"

[ stairwell ] sender stumbles upon receiver sitting in the stairwell alone, hiding from the crowded ballroom and all the guests ( From Steve Harrington )
At first, the ball had been fun. But eventually, after nearly two hours of shaking way too many hands, smiling way too many smiles, and nodding along to way too conversations he barely understood the context of, Dae grew tired. For a fraction of a second, he'd considered disappearing with the excuse of having something important to do at work, a last-minute project he'd just so happened to remember right there and then. Only, he'd promised his friends he would stick around, since it was the birthday of one of them. Yet, there was no written rule that said he had to be the center of attention. So, while his two best friends busied themselves socializing, Dae made a quick trip to the buffet, grabbed as much snacks as he could carry, and found the most private spot by the stairs. As he munched on some fruit, he drew on his sketchbook with charcoal, having memorized some of decor, the way the dancing couples moved, the elegant stance of the musicians.

🍆
Send 🍆 for my muse’s reaction to being sent a very intentional nude
At work, Dae's cellphone vibrated sometime during the morning, which he ignored. He was too busy dissecting a bearded vulture and he couldn't afford the distraction. So, without even looking at it, he abandoned it somewhere on his desk. It wasn't until hours later, during lunch break, that he decided to check his messages. The first few texts were nothing out of the ordinary, nothing to make a fuss about either. Just friends asking if they could plan something for the weekend. Until he made it to the last one, which turned out to be a photograph Cheng sent. Dae choked on his coffee. To call it spicy would be an understatement. The other man was butt naked, posing in a matter than left absolutely nothing to the imagination. Well, now Dae was going to definitely have a very hard time concentrating for the rest of the evening.

When the offer was accepted, Dae pulled a tiny vial out of his shoulder bag. As odd as it seemed, he always carried a small amount of chili powder everywhere he went, just in case. He would rarely drink hot chocolate if it wasn't spiced. To Kelly's mug he dumped just a little bit, barely enough to be noticeable from sight and for the taste not to be invasive. He bit his bottom lip, a painful expression contorting his face. Sharing this information was never easy, even when it came to speaking to a friend. After nearly four years, he'd think he would have gotten over it by then. I don't know. He swallowed as he wrote the words down, his hand moving slower than usual. He's tried to get over his addiction before, but always relapses. I was there for him, every single time, until I couldn't do it anymore. And he felt so, so terribly guilty about it, too.
Brown eyes peered over at the words he was writing down on the notepad. ❝ I do love a little spice in my life, ❞ she mused out loud. She prompted herself to take another long sip from the mug, enjoying how it tasted with the cinnamon before trying the added chili powder. Hey, she might not like it at all. ❝ Alright then. Just a dash or two to see if I even like it. ❞
Kelly understood that. Leaving people behind was the hardest decision someone could make, especially if your heart longed to be with them. It didn't even have to be in a romantic sense either. The heart longed for anyone that mattered to you. She got that feeling. ❝ I'm sorry, ❞ she said quietly after a few beats of silence. ❝ Is there any way you can be with that someone again one day? You know, when the dust settles and all that. ❞

► reblog to let your mutuals know that... YOUR RP BLOG IS NOT TIME-SENSITIVE!
...That there is NO time limit or expiration date on asks, memes or threads.
...That your partners NEVER need to feel they have to apologise for not responding to a thread or ask yet.
...That you welcome replies to "OLD" threads and memes, even if they've been sitting quietly untouched for weeks or months.
...That there is NEVER any pressure or obligation for your partners to reply until they feel the drive and enthusiasm to do so.
...That YOU will happily respond to things at YOUR OWN leisure, and you would like your partners to feel comfortable doing the same.
Not everybody enjoys running their blog this way and that's a-okay. But removing the idea that RP interactions are something that can "expire" or that the asks in your inbox have an unspoken "due-date", takes the pressure off of both your partners and yourself and can help bust feelings of stress/anxiety from the hobby. Reblog to let your partners know that you're just jazzed to receive new writing from them, whenever it comes.

In all honesty, Dae wasn't terribly excited to be here. He rarely ever was when it came to social situations in which he found himself surrounded by huge crowds. He would have much preferred to stay at home and watch the stereotypical slasher film or go to a pumpkin patch. But he was hungry. So, so hungry and no amount of candy would satisfy him. When the question was asked, his face contorted with displeasure, as if suddenly remembering thar yes, he was in fact waring a costume. Dae was dressed like a clown. A murderous one, in fact. His makeup was done in a black and white palette, the only color in his face belonging to a tear painted underneath his left eye, like a drop of blood. His suit was printed with black and red diamonds, and he was wearing combat boots instead of shoes, because a line had to be drawn somewhere. A couple friends and I decided to choose each other's costumes. He wrote back. We promised to do our worst, and as you can see, they delivered.
@purrgatorial asked: 🎉: for our muses to attend a Halloween party together ⊱ via.
⊱ now this is his favorite time of year, where the freaks come out at night and everyone is masquerading as something they're not. naturally, he just has to masquerade as what he is, with a comical dracula costume à la bela lugosi. it's too ironic for him to resist, a not-so subtle warning of his intentions for the night.
for now, however, jasim is playing nice. fraternizing and drinking like any good mortal boy does, never straying too far from the person he had roped into joining him. they are, essentially, crashing a party. who even cares, though? the majority of the people here are too intoxicated to care, the rest too scared to speak the fuck up.
he needs a break, he decides, so he finds seating near damián and pulls out his phone. slim digits tap away on the screen, then he offers the device to him, ❝ what inspired your costume? ❞ ⊰

When it was clear Roman didn't understand a single word of what he signed, Dae blew out an irritated little huff of breath. He shouldn't be surprised at this point, since the people around him rarely ever did. The necromancer folded his arms across his chest, counted to ten in his mind as a way to calm his bad mood. A heated temper wouldn't help his situation right then. When invited upstairs, he accepted. Once inside Roman's home, he wondered just how much information was too much. But Dae was an honest man, one in desperate need of help. He would do whatever it was deemed necessary to avoid going back to prison for the third time. They deserved it. That was all he wrote at first, before continuing on. They kidnapped six children and murdered two of them, even when their families paid the ransom. And then the authorities did nothing because of lack of evidence or some bullshit. A humorless smile curled Dae's lips. So I put them to rest. He shrugged, like it was no big deal. Every single kidnapper, the cops involved in the case, and the judge who didn't do his damned job.
⋆ ❤︎ 🐾 ˖ ࣪𓂂 . When signed at Roman just squints back in question because he doesn't understand what's being said to him. Still he waits for note to be passed his way and brow raises curiously as he reads what was done. Admitted just like that-- it makes him smirk before gesturing with his head. "Come upstairs." Invited as he leads the way to his condo. Turning around as he opens door.
A tap given to notebook. "Tell me why." Just because he's curious. Gesture's then made to inside of condo. "You were here. With me, that serve as enough of an alibi?"

It was nice, Dae, thought, being able to use his hands for something other than writing. Back at the island where he lived, there were many people who knew how to sign, making communication for the necromancer easier and more comfortable. That usually changed when he traveled to a foreign land. People often acted awkward around him, flapping their hands around as if they were playing charades, then, yell in his face, which ultimately ended in disappointment when that obviously accomplished nothing. Peter's magic sent a tug in his chest, not enough to be painful, just a warmth that spread all the way down the tips of his fingers. All he did was wiggle them when his hands rested at his sides, waiting patiently for the other man to sign. He wasn't uncomfortable with the sensation, it was simply quite peculiar. At least he wasn't reading his mind, or at least Dae didn't think he did. Now that was an ability that upset him, because it was violation to his privacy and he couldn't think of anything worse when his brain was what he valued the most.
''Roughly two centuries, I think.'' This time he only used one hand to sign. ''It's honesty been so long, I can't remember a time when sign speak hasn't been a part of me.''
Amin regularly started with sign, even if he accompanied it with speech. It made for a good slight of hand while he tested the validity of a name. Damián. He signed back, carefully plucking at invisible threads as he moved his fingers, finding it's resonance. He was telling the truth. Depending on his physiology, the other might feel as though butterflies flit around his stomach or perhaps a murmur in the heart as he plucked those strings, everyone felt it differently. The list of how it could effect any given person was rather exhaustive.
If the other knew what he'd done, it would be a test in and of itself to see how he'd react. That's what he did. He tested people.
He pushed up his sunglasses, making sure to conceal his eyes before he continued. You may call me Peter. The fae offered up a small but polite smile.
He could understand what he took as a pleasant reaction to him signing at all. Not many people knew how, nor did they care to learn. He often felt relief when he met someone that could, even if he wasn't fond of company much at all these days. He could only assume it elicited a similar feeling for the other.
How long have you been signing? If you don't mind me asking.

i don't remember anymore if you followed me first or vice versa but i am generally so interested in crime ocs you know. and i remember thinking how interesting your muse sounded just from reading a bit of your interactions and then imagining how domino could come to appreciate dae for all that he is and embodies (without preconceived notions or anything like that) because he too just wants to be accepted for who he is. :') <3 and i like how these two get along and bond the way they do. i dont know, they aren't romantic or anything just yet but even so much as the physical and platonic, domino is absorbing this sensation like a fucking sponge, and then we have dae's support and in general he is a very good person to have around the don if you ask me. especially when zack or baran aren't there.
