OKAY so Zootopia is already out in Korea. It was released on Feb 17th, and it’s such a beautiful movie. I didn’t want any spoilers so I didn’t watch any clips. So all I knew was that Nick’s a sneaky fox and Judy’s a cute cop. I didn’t expect much since [Good Dinosaur] pretty much disappointed me, but ZOOTOPIA kicks so much ass.

As in [Big Hero 6], Disney created such a gorgeous background. This time it’s even better. Animal citizens look totally diffrent from one another; the sectors are so unique and lively in their own ways; and the lighting is killing. It may not be as grand as The Good Dinosaur’s background, but Zootopia’s urban engineers designed such a belivable city. Nice job, really.

However the greatest part of Zootopia is its topic. (I believe) The entire movie is a metaphor of the modern society. Diffrent people seemingly live in harmony, all striving to achieve their own dreams. It is said people are equal there but are they treated equally? Zootpia answers NO to this question. There are discriminations and even reverse discriminations. Prejudice leaves permanent scars; trauma haunts even the grownups. I thought Zootopia will only briefly touch this problem but NO. It cuts deeply into the issue and reflects our own society. Zootopia serves as a great modern Aesop’s fable. Some problems are better addressed as a metaphor, huh?

I am so glad that Disney created such a great movie. Who can say “animations are for children” when it can be this deep? Can’t wait until Zootopia hits American theater…

12. Favorite Sashi design.

As I’ve confessed earlier police suit Sashi is my personal favorite but design wise Star trek Sashi from [Flurgle Burgle] is the best. Even Uhura can’t handle her sass! Also the overall plot of the episode just made me love Sashi even harder. Not only for the costume but also for her backstory. Super relatable.

11. Favorite Boone design.

[Plantywood: City of Flora]. 

Boone doesn’t necessarily show up in this episode but I find this my favorite. 

Visuals do play important role in character design, but that’s not everything. What matters is how likable the character is, and the crew took a very clever approach. Even though he visually doesn’t exist, Boone constantly reminds his existence through only narrating and actively interacts with the other characters commenting on their actions. That made me, as an audience, really bring myself as Boone. You’re watching the episode as Boone, not yourself. He’s absolutely likable even without any visuals. That’s what you call a powerful character design.

10. Favorite Rippen design.

[Where Dragons Dare]. Seriously, who designed this Rippen? I wanna give thousands of hugs and likes to that amazing artist. This design is so powerful; it captures the Top Gun feel perfectly and those horns look just downright evil (in a good way, you know, cuz he’s a villain?). This clearly one of the best character designs in PZPTH season 1...

9. Favorite Penn design.

“Man, you rock in that ponytail!”

As long as Penn’s in a ponytail, that’s my favorite. His vibrant red hair and ponytail just mix so perfectly that even the show itself mentions it...  He should do that more often. Seriously, that’s the best man-hairdo I’ve seen in years.

Yeah I caught that in QPC - what I was trying to say here was there's probably more than sibling rivalry btw them. Like they worked in the same team but something went wrong during the mission and Brock's blaming Chuck... but it's really just my headcanon ;)

Uncle chuck used to be Brock Zero’s wise man, and Vonnie was the sidekick. But something happened during the mission made Chuck and Brock’s friendship fall apart. So Chuck doesn’t work for Phyllis anymore. In the meanwhile Vonnie and Brock got trapped in the most dangerous world imaginable probably because they were without the wise man.  They are a dynamic duo but still, three’s better than two.

If this were a canon then the original team hero (Brock, Vonnie, Chuck) reuniting to save the new team hero (Penn, Sashi, Boone) would be interesting…
