i am not sure i’ve posted this on tumblr (i’ve def talked about it on twitter) but i have a very fucked up and evil hc for c!eret :)

basically i have a fun and neat hc that after being crowned king, if eret messed anything up, dream would behead him with the reasoning being “punishment fit for a king”. however, it happened so frequently that eret has a neck scar similar to the scars you get from canon deaths. but because it was never a canon death, he’s been manipulated into thinking it wasn’t actually that bad.

i personally don’t think we talk enough about the fact that c!dream pretty much threatened to kill c!eret during their conversation before the manburg-pogtopia war. “if respect is the only thing protecting you from a knife in the back, respect is nothing, right?”

and it’s already well-established at that point how terrified eret is of dream. to me it really just makes her decision to risk aiding pogtopia that much more impactful and telling of how dedicated she is to earning trust again and building herself into a better person.

Eret understood. Dream wanted to put on a show.

"Look at that," Dream chuckled, and Eret's captors dropped her to the floor, Eret barely managing to catch herself. She landed by Dream's feet.

"People are already starting to gather," Dream continued, a grin in his voice. He looked down at her. "All to see the example you're about to set."

Eret's attempt to overthrow Dream and take her power back from him fails. An execution is staged, allowing the public to see how their king has fallen.

Dream's not finished with her yet, though.

so. this is one of the most fucked up things i've ever written. smile.

this fic is based on an au of mine where eret is the one to defeat dream, not clingyduo. dream doesn't take kindly to her first attempt to overthrow him, which is the event this fic is set directly after.
