Katrina and Johnny Ghost

This is a pie lore breakdown made specifically in mind for my very confused friends when I discuss the insane lore and theories that plague my mind like a beautiful blight.

I provided links and timestamps with my thoughts and analysis as well as direct dialogue, i even give a mini breakdown of Jimmy Casket.

I hope this is useful to someone even if just a quick refresh i spent a whole day putting this together

Gmod Scary Ghost HUNT horror map part 2 Johnny Ghost and Johnny Toast are called to an abandoned building that seems to be some sort of sewage plant due to astronomical paranormal readings discovered to be hoards and hoards of zombies locked deep within.

At 4:01 we get our first sighting of a paper pale young even teenage looking girl with stark black shoulder length hair, dressed in only a mid length sleeveless white dress. Her posture indicates her to be shy or standoffish with one arm overlapping the other, hand holding just above her wrist. This stance makes her appear smaller and meek, non threatening.

Johnny Ghost on first sighting: We came back- Woah.

Johnny Ghost: No. it can't be. It- it's not Katrina is it..?

Johnny Ghost: No it can’t be her not again.

Johnny Ghost: The ghost is messing with my head, it's not really her.

Johnny Toast: It does that sir, you know it does this sir.

Johnny Ghost: Go talk to it.

Johnny Toast: Me, sir?

Johnny Ghost: I can't, johnny. You know what happens.

Katrina disappears before Toast can approach

Johnny Ghost: This ghost is obviously trying to haunt me.

Johnny Ghost: If you see her again please tell me. I think this ghost might unveil the secret we've always been wanting to find but never wanted to hear…

This sets up three primary factors, Ghost reacts badly to Katrina, Ghost knew Katrina and something horrible happened to Katrina that remains publicly unsolved.

6:45 Katrina shows herself again right in front of Johnny Ghost as they walk down the abandoned hallway, all is the same as her first appearance minus the blood that now seeps through her dress on the right side below her hip.

Johnny Toast: Why is she here sir?

Johnny Toast: We've never seen her that often.

Johnny Ghost: Not since…i thought that i came to terms with it, Johnny.

Johnny Toast: Maybe she's trying to communicate with you, sir.

12:35 Katrina's ghost appears in the distance, her hair is seemingly wet, stinking to her face and collar, she’s damp and even seems to be bloody without any clothes.

Johnny Ghost: There she is. Why is she following us around, Johnny…..

Johnny Ghost: And why can you see her too? You've never seen here before.

14:10 Toast spots what we assume to be katrina, ghost does not

Johnny Ghost: At first i thought maybe it was the paranormal entity just messing with my head trying to get into my emotions but…

Johnny Ghost: What if it’s actually her-

This scene is cut off by a jump scare as they enter a short lived cave part with shallow pooled water.

15:41 new Katrina sighting. Mostly the same but with longer curly hair and a longer dress and white out eyes, this difference should not effect canon as unlike prior sightings this is a 2d photo realistic asset compared to her 3d model, meaning it is merely a factor of the map creator bridging that gap but is still the same person

Johnny ghost: it’s actually her- what if- what if this ghost is not haunting us but is trying to communicate with us-

Ghost though normally apathetic is starting to get more emotional than logical, a rare sight only prominently seen in the past when his partner Johnny Toast gets hurts like in haunted by zoroark or when on the verge of an episode like with cardboard box friend or in haunted by batman when Gavin pretending to be his twin Johnny Toast pulls out a knife nearly provoking Jimmy Casket within Johnny Ghost to take over.

17:10 Katrina appears face to face with Johnny Ghost, the same model as 12;35 confirms she is damp and bloody, still unclothed with her hair covering her chest for modesty. Her face has seen better days with her lips badly bruised and her eyes totally blacked out or even hollowed.

At this point in the investigation Ghost and Toast have started to bicker with Ghost's frustration mounting as Toast tries and fails to awkwardly lower the tensions, this could severely affect them and their ability to work with an open mind and a level head.

17:40 while leading the way Johnny Ghost climbs a ladder out of a (i think it's a sewage pit of sorts? Hole with big water pipes leading to it. Shallow water again.) only to be jumpscared by a zombie, he flings himself into a far corner of the pit leaping from the ladder frantically repeating Johnny Toast’s first name

Johnny Toast: What is it sir???

Johnny Toast: ...did you find batman?

Johnny Ghost, sounding uncharacteristically meek: No…

Johnny Toast: Well alright sir, let’s get up, come on.

Johnny Ghost: Johnny…

Johnny Ghost: Johnny.

Johnny Toast: Yes? Do you need to talk to me about your problems again, sir?

Johnny Ghost: No…

Johnny Toast: Do you want to write it down?

Johnny Ghost: No…

Johnny Ghost: I need a hug. Johnny, I need a hug.

Johnny Toast: Come here, sir. Comeee here sir.

This pathetic display from ghost shows not just how fragile dealing with Katrina has made him but also the dynamic that comes out when Ghost loses stability, Toast stepping up to keep him grounded when possible.

Also ironically enough this scene comes directly after the scene where ghost is complaining about Toast once causing an incident when they were in middle school camping together and Toast hooked the tent to his dad’s car which his father then unknowingly drove off with Ghost still in the tent causing him scars that stay even to this day in his adulthood where ghost said: “i’m not bringing it up cuz i want to talk to you, you’re not my shrink.”

This is where the episode ends. We move onto the final part.

Ghost starts the episode much more put together than we last left off asking Toast for his professional opinion as Toast has a higher education, is a bit older, and wrote a successful book on the paranormal.

Johnny Toast: Well let me think about this for a second, sir..

Johnny Toast: You keep seeing this girl, uh you used to know…right, sir?

Johnny Ghost: We dont know it’s her, it could simply be the ghost using my memories against me. Or she simply just looks exactly the same.

Johnny Toast: Or! This could be two things happening at once, sir. Say there could be some ghosts here besides the girl, but it could also be the girl who's trying to communicate and warn you as you go through, sir.

Ghost agrees with this idea wholeheartedly, saying Katrina must have freed another more serious paranormal entity to get P.I.E.’s attention. Toast steers off of the idea that Katrina Herself is malevolent, maybe he believes that…or maybe it’s something he says to keep Ghost from overreacting.

3:20 we get another segment in a shallow water cave. The motif of Katrina and Water has only gotten stronger.

5:20 An exact dead replica of Ghost and Toast's favored childhood (implied stray dog seeing they both had a relationship with it despite not sharing a home in their youth) is placed within the ventilation system that Ghost and Toast are climbing through.

(Ghost named him jumper, Toast called him spot. They argue over this and yes it is relevant)

This makes Ghost once again emotionally vulnerable and more open to guilty admissions at 6:36.

Ghost is jumpscared by another hallucination of a corpse not unlike the zombie in the sewage pit earlier, his reaction is much the same. Sniffling before he speaks, his voice small.

Johnny Ghost: It wasn't my fault, Johnny. It wasn’t my fault.

Ghost notably pauses before he speaks again.

Johnny Ghost: I didn't know jumper would do that, okay? I didn’t know!

Johnny Toast: Sir…that was a long time ago, sir.

Johnny Ghost: No- it’s not my fault. Okay?

Johnny Ghost: Jumper got hit by a car but it wasn’t my fault!

Johnny Toast: I know sir.

Johnny Ghost: Whatever- why are we talking about this.

Ghost going off info given in their debut prop hunt video should at least be in his 30s this is an extreme reaction of guilt for an animal he would’ve grieved a long long time ago. It is my belief, and many others- he is not talking about jumper in this interaction but rather using jumper to hide the truth of this pleading declaration that he is not at fault for something.

7:49 photorealistic Katrina shows in a jumpscare right in front of our duo with an audio clip, the first time she’s made noise.

Johnny Ghost: okay…does she have to be so creepy..?

Johnny Ghost: Johnny I’m legitimately scared, Johnny. I’m actually scared right now.

Mind you, Johnny ghost is the founding head member of P.I.E. Paranormal investigator extraordinaire. Johnny Ghost has been working with the paranormal for years and has dealt with much worse foes.

Johnny Ghost, through gritted teeth: I’m trying my hardest not to have a mental breakdown, okay? A lot of trauma is happening right now. First there was jumper- and- and- and her. And…

This monologue is cut off by them finding a zombie in the burrow they’re crawling through.

11:04, toast sees her and ghost does not

Johnny Toast: Sir….I have a question, sir.

Johnny Toast: Why does she always appear before something bad happens?

Johnny Ghost: I don't know….

Johnny Toast: It's a question sir….

Ghost proceeds to start hitting things like it’s nothing more than a fidget as Toast has now planted a seed that maybe Katrina is being intentionally aggressive, unlike their prior wishful theory.

Johnny Ghost: you do realize the simple fact we’re even talking about her has me on the edge of a mental breakdown, you don’t want that- you don’t want that Johnny.

Ghost breaks the conversation, switching to comment on how old the computer monitor he just broke was, Toast mentioning that it can't be older than himself. This makes Ghost act out even worse.

Johnny Ghost: Do you have to constantly bring up how you're older than me- like that really matters! Like that really matters!-

Johnny Toast: sir please-

Johnny Ghost: what?!

Johnny Ghost: i don’t want to hear about her- i don’t care- stab stab stab stab- i don’t care!

Jimmy casket is a character introduced through the murder mini game, it wasn’t until 5:30 in prop hunt 18 that it was confirmed Jimmy Casket and Johnny Ghost are in fact one in the same though the means of how is never fully confirmed leaving it up to theorists.

My personal theory has to do with Jimmy being a connection of Ghost’s father. Timothy 'Tommy' Casket who Johnny Toast remarks as a suspicious figure to Ghost given the last name Casket.

Timothy Casket died prior to Ghosts birth, and Ghosts mother had to of changed Johnny Ghosts legal name sometime after his birth but before he was six years old, leaving ample time for the (at the time) Gregory Casket to wander off and go missing while staying in an abandoned house with the entity known as cardboard friend in this video.

Merely under the assumption that Timothy Casket was not a good man like Ghost believes and Toasts habit of knowing better than Ghost but not correcting him outright because of Ghosts stubborn nature I loosely believe an aspect of Timothy rather it be paranormal or genetic lives dormant within Johnny Ghost

Taking the title Jimmy Casket. Johnny, Timothy/Tommy, mix the names together and you find Jimmy.

The verbal mantra of “stab stab stab” and “do you want to know my secret” is coined by Jimmy Casket and stands as a clear verbal indication of Ghost going into an episode. I call these episodes because when Jimmy Casket is at play Johnny Ghost has no recollection whatsoever of anything that’s happened, wiping his memory with hours of lost time as seen in the New Jersey case of Cardboard friend.

In the public eye Jimmy Casket is known by name but not appearance, people believe Casket is a crazed killer who follows Johnny Ghost out of some hidden motive when they are in fact the same vessel. Jimmy is considered by the fan wiki to be an “Amalgamation of a demonic entity and the dark side of Johnny Ghost” so you can really theorize he is the cause and effect of anything i am just biased towards dead fathers (jeez wonder why)

These ‘mental breakdown’ episodes are often spurred on by high stress situations, it is a coin toss of Ghost regressing into something fragile or Jimmy Casket entering the field. In this investigation we see both can coexist in perhaps the worst way with paranormal activity trying to insight one reaction and Toast working to prevent it.

Johnny Toast: Are you alright sir?

Johnny Ghost: Yes- I’m fine. I’m just taking out my aggression…on these boxes stab stab-…okay let’s go! Come on.

Ghost and toast carry on, clearing through a hoard of zombies while stacking boxes to reach the exit. Only to find another hoard of zombies after parkouring through rancid practically radioactive waters. Fighting to activate some- thingy that’s never explained to do something or another that’ll help clear the system something something it’s a P.I.E. Video not everything is logically explained. I am doing my best.

23:05 Toast drops the lore that Ghost used to have a pet zombie cat that he found in a hotel. Ghost likes strays. More reason to assume jumper/spot was a stray dog.

They bomb the place in a final effort, Katrina appears one last time with no questions answered, the place is demolished from the inside out as they escape after what would be considered a failed mission.

That is a lot of info and not a lot of answers, something even Ghost and Toast mention as the video comes to a close. Open ended for your interpretation. Which is why I am here laying out every vaguely important Katrina related thing to express my belief which may or may not be commonplace but at least the explanation could serve someone who didn’t understand the depth of the fanon…like me with gavin toast.

Going off Katrina’s physical appearance in her first sighting (using this one as it is her purest form) Katrina looks to be a teenager, going off Anna and Elsa in highschool (which yes i will take as canon) Ghost’s fear of women first revealed in prop hunt 19 (15:39, 16:38) when the french ghost girl Amie tried to pursue him did in fact hold while he was in school. For him and Katrina to have been as close as Toast and Ghost now (going off his reactions compared to his usual apathy previously mentioned) Katrina and Johnny Ghost meet in his freshman year while Johnny Toast is overseas in the UK where he frequently was in his teens due to his family.

(Side note: Toast is mentioned to have gone to a different highschool for sometime in the first fnaf gmod video 5:17)

Ghost and Katrina grow close, Ghost being a boy of few friends and a complex home life with a single mother now missing his only source of reason, an older british boy who happens to be grandson to the queen and share his same first name. Katrina cannot fill his void but she can cover it like a bandaid

Going off the water motifs and the location of this haunting Jimmy Casket at some point between (i’ll say-) freshman and sophomore year acts out killing Katrina, details unknown. The knife enters her side below her hip, Her body ditched in some body of water that later leads to it resting within the abandoned sewage plant where her spirit now holds domain. Her changing models showing us the progression of her death and then decay. Her clothes were disposed of with any of her other belongings. When Ghost came to can't be certain but going off his guilt of which the spirits prey on he knows he is at fault. Maybe it was while getting rid of the evidence, maybe her body, maybe even right after the act itself. He never comes clean and she haunts him for that reason exactly leading the main pie team in hopes of outing Ghost for something i’d bet Toast has already accepted

His partner has something wrong in him, and all he can do is try and help.

Johnny Ghost's fear of women in part stems from what happened to Katrina.

Katrina’s link to Ghost romantic or platonic can also explain his separation anxiety with Toast during most of the series (minus the retirement arc and that was short lived)

Even if Katrina was a mostly one off character never seen or heard from again her presence will follow Ghost, what he did will show in his actions for years to come.
