if USPS has a million fans, I'm one of them
if USPS has 5 fans, I'm one of them
if USPS has 1 fan, that is me
if USPS has no fans, I'm no longer alive
if the world is against USPS I'm against the entire world
till my last breath I support USPS
I joke but actually USPS is the literal lifeline for so many housebound disabled people who receive lifesaving medications through it- especially housebound people in rural areas. so many private shipping companies do not serve rural areas. try getting anyone else to drive hours into the middle of nowhere to deliver. try it. not all disabled people live in urban areas. USPS saves disabled lives ‼️ without USPS many housebound disabled people will die.
USPS is a disability rights issue
#my mom is a mail carrier and has had SO MANY elderly clients where she is the only person they regularly see#she's the one who makes wellness checkups or calls for them#your mail carrier actively saves lives every day by delivering medication#by delivering the forms to access care#by being a consistent person who will notice if you aren't home/picking up your mail#i say this all the time irl but if the government privatizes/dismantles usps people will die#and the fucking gov talks about veterans all the time but you know it's just bullshit bc usps is one of- if not the-#largest employers of veterans#that's a side note not related to op but wanted to make it said anyway

I miss when everyone on my dash listened to Welcome to Night Vale so there’s be a good chance that on any ole day someone would reblog a quote that would grab me by the throat and forcibly ascend me to a higher plane where I understood myself and the universe better and with more kindness but also a little spook
#'We are not history yet. We are happening now. How miraculous is that?'#welcome to night vale#long post

truly the most american thing is Big Drink. more than late stage capitalism, more than an unparalleled cultural focus on individualism, more than 9/11 jokes
what binds all americans together culturally is Big Drink
and you might be saying "is this fat shaming" or "but mayor bloomberg outlawed Big Drink in nyc" or "gays are so annoying about their iced coffee" or some other dumb comment but no open your minds, Big Drink isn't just sugary or caffeinated beverages
every day i see one of you hydration bitches (affectionate) on the train with a water bottle so big a toddler could drown in it. that too is Big Drink. we literally invented a bigger beer can (tall boy) in wisconsin in the 60s in the service of Big Drink
anyway i never feel more american then when i have Big Drink in my hands
#european drink sizes are literally so small#I'm simply still thirsty#also tall boys >>>>#can hold them longer and can drink the top part first quickly and then hold the top so your hand doesnt warm the drink#and there's still a full-sized cold drink!#in conclusion#america is right about big drink#to clarify: i mostly drink in social settings so having something in my hand longer = less $ spent and less alcohol intake
