the ruling class freaking out over luigi magione isn't because they believe now a bunch of other ceos will be killed, it's because they're now aware the average person can hold such callous disregard for the lives of the ultra-wealthy individuals they're supposed to imagine themselves in the position as--AKA the "temporarily embarassed millionaire". that entire concept suppresses class consciousness very, very successfully, because not only are you not aligning your interests with those of your class, you don't even consider yourself a part of it! you're defending your imaginary future billionaire self instead. what happens when this incentive to defend and uphold the values and actions of the ruling class is gone? what happens when "what about this ceo's family?" turns into "what about everyone else's family?"...all i'm saying is, the romanovs weren't executed because a few communists were uniquely psychopathic. you are totally capable of ending up in the exact mindset. #inspo #mondaymotivation #becomeamarxistleninisttoday

when i was a homeless 20-year-old i was rejected from multiple housing opportunities because i had 5k in medical debt from going to the ER after getting roofied and sexually assaulted (i was unconscious so calling 911 was not my decision) and UHC denied my insurance claim. so yeah, i'm actually deriving an enormous amount of pleasure from watching health insurance CEOs snivel and hide like the heartless cowards they are. may those who profit from our suffering live in fear of those they seek to deny.

crown jewel/stained glass jello cakes are like beautiful angels to me. it's fruity and delicious. it's retro kitsch. it's an edible example of midcentury minimalist art in every cross section.

i understand the 50s housewife appeal here. if i rolled up to the potluck with a fugly cobbler and my neighbor brought one of these i may have to end my stupid sloppy fruit life.

Do not punish the behaviour you want to see

I mean, it seems pretty obvious when you put it like that, right?

But how many families, when an introvert sibling or child makes an effort to socialize,  snarkily say, “So, you’ve decided to join us”?

Or when someone does something they’ve had trouble doing, say, “Why can’t you do that all the time?” (Happened to me, too often.)

Or any sentence containing the word “finally”. 

If someone makes a step, a small step, in a direction you want to encourage, encourage it. Don’t complain about how it’s not enough. Don’t bring up previous stuff. Encourage it.

Because I swear to fucking god there is nothing more soul-killing, more motivation-crushing, than struggling to succeed and finding out that success and failure are both punished.
