A long rambly post about life
One thing I've learnt about growing up and leaving school is that, no matter how much you deny it, most of your 'friends' don't really give a damn about you. Seeing someone 5 days a week may seem like you guys are best friends and will always see each other but the reality is those people will fade out of your life, even if you don't want them to. I'm still only 19 but I have a full-time job and I no longer live at home. I had a hard time dealing with this reality. The amount of times that my boyfriend had to console me when I was in tears is more than I can count on one hand. But 6 months on from my closest friends going to uni I've come to realise that the people I've met since then mean so much more to me than school friendships. The people I work with, who I wouldn't of met otherwise, are the most genuinely caring people I know because we all have one thing in common - in this sad world, we all need money and good relationships to survive.
