Friendly reminder that when Charles confronts Erik in the plane in dofp he doesn't even MENTION the fact that he betrayed him, that he paralysed him, that he went against everything he stood for or that he killed a bunch of people. What he does insist on though, what he repeats and screams louder than anything else, is the fact that he abandoned him. Even losing raven, which we know was hard for him, is shown as significantly less important in his speech. Also note that, while Erik says "you abandoned us all", Charles uses "you abandoned me" because for him it wasn't about a larger cause or the greater good, for him it was personal, his bond with Erik went beyond just being fellow mutants fighting in the same fight, BECAUSE HE LOVES HIM FFS.

Cherik mini comic about Charles’ telepathy vaguely based off a fic I read while back where they had a similar conversation. I can’t find it now but if anyone can let me know 😢
Not a sad one! Kind of! Maybe I’ll make a sad one in the future. I need to go finish my homework now LOL but thank you everyone for the patience!

I constantly think about how in canon, Xavier is constantly sending Erik his unconditional love, and Erik wears the helmet so not only can he not feel Xavier's feelings - but also so he doesn't feel HIS OWN love for Xavier.

“I can’t believe the X-men became woke in X-men 97”
The leader of the X-men is a disabled wheelchair user, a lot of members are either a woman, a person of color or queer, many of X-men are of different religions and backgrounds, two their main antagonists are a Jewish holocaust survivor and blue shape shifter who has been in a long and complected relationship with another woman who is blind and the X-men have always been an allegory for civil rights and they have also been a allegory for LGBTQ+ rights for a long time as well
So no, the X-men never “became woke”, some of you just weren’t paying attention
