i spent the summer in santa cruz. i met a blonde on the beach with lost of quirky tatoos. she had that old movie quote were gonna need a bigger boat two tiny waves on her toes and turtle tracks on her collar bones. i asked her what they meant and this is what she said. you gotta go with the flow cuz the tides always turning sink pr swim diving in is the best way to learn kick up the sand cuz your tan proves youve lived through the burn and when you wipe out its gonna hurt you cant stop the waves but you can learn how to surf.

It's genuinely kind of terrifying hearing Adam screaming like that in The Tornado, when, by contrast, in most of his songs he's so quiet and lighthearted. The way his voice breaks, the desperation and fear in the lyrics, the whirling and chaotic melody of the music... The entire song is just so powerful and I love it.
