Hi! I’m looking for a long-lost Jenny/Giles fic, and hoping you might know where to look! What I remember is that there was a new teacher at Sunnydale High from somewhere in central or Eastern Europe (Hungary, maybe?), and he became obsessed with Jenny, so he put a curse on Giles. One of the effects of the curse was impotence, but the curse also just ate away at Giles’ health. All the scoobies try to help lift the curse. But I can’t remember how it ends!

i’m just so obsessed with ‘what you make’ but SAD that we don’t get to see giles and baby art??? it works for this story so well and i can’t wait to see how it develops, but do you have recs for fic with a calendiles baby (literal infant)? feels like they’re harder to find because 1) kind of a niche ship and 2) giles and jenny do not strike me as fans of the nuclear family in general lol

awww HECK this ask is so very very sweet! i'm so glad you're enjoying what you make! if i hadn't only published three chapters, i might casually mention that there is definitely a fic planned in this 'verse involving a calendiles baby with both parents present. but idk. we are only three chapters in. ;)

as for recs, here are the fics that come to mind! almost all of these involve calendiles having a baby daughter lmao. the fandom hive mind is SO strong. it's part of the reason why i settled on a little boy for the plot of what you make! i wanted to explore what giles and jenny's son would be like so badly. he's such a lil sweetheart.

four things that never happened in a kitchen, and one that might've: @angelinthefire wrote this piece of excellence, and a calendiles baby (ani) is very present. there's also nuclear fission which takes place in the same 'verse, and the existing chapters have some baby content as well!

the unexpected one: GOD THIS ONE IS SO CUTE. it's preceded by plans and followed by ambition, but if you want baby content complete with new parents giles and jenny, this is the one for you! (ambition involves giles being a sickeningly adorable helicopter dad, though, so i highly recommend that one as well.)

watcher's child: set in late season one/early season two. exactly as excellent and sweet and adorable as can be imagined, with bonus ethan for good measure. also this is literally the only fic on this list that involves giles and jenny having a son which i think is SO funny. we as a fandom really said "daughters only for calendiles."

the gift: giles and jenny have a daughter! this is a fic in a series, and the other one involves spike babysitting their daughter annie, which i linked to pretty recently.

surprises: giles and jenny have a daughter: halloween edition! complete with all the scoobies clustered around the hospital bed to meet the baby. very very cute.

since my knowledge of the wealth of ripper fic on the internet is not nearly as prolific as my knowledge of giles/jenny fic (and since this is first and foremost a giles/jenny database), the recs provided will be exclusively centered around ripper/jenny.

Ok, so, there is a fic called, “Bad Moon Rising” that (and this may be wild) I swear, “Reprimand” was a chapter of. The fic detailed Jenny meeting Giles at the graveyard the night they reconcile, them making up, getting all smoochy the next morning, and then it goes into the Reprimand story. Does that sound familiar? I cannot find it anywhere!

Hey... I read a super sad fic a while back and was planning to re-read it when I re-watched season 2... but now it is gone! All I remember is... I can't remember if Jenny was a ghost or what but there was a feeling that she wasn't back for long... the fic was quite long and had a bot of sex in, and it was devastatingly sad! Do you happen to have any idea what I'm on about?

so. me coming up with calendiles day is p awesome. me arranging 2 calendiles days? unprecedented. but this marks the third year of what by this point should really be counted as a national holiday and i’m feeling pretty happy as i type this post.

anyway. obligatory briefing!

i’m p sure nearly all of you know the drill by now, but april 28th is when i robot, you jane aired and jenny calendar was introduced to btvs as giles’s adorably disastrous love interest & everyone’s favorite computer science teacher. and as such, on april 28th, starting at midnight pacific standard time & ending at 11:59pm that night (i used to say it was 11pm but i ALWAYS end up staying up to make More Things), i encourage anyone & everyone to make giles/jenny content! fic, art, meta, anything goes!

as you all also most likely know, my contribution to calendiles day has been posting one new piece of giles/jenny content every hour, on the hour. however, because this is the third year of calendiles day and 3 is my favorite number, i have decided to add a surprise twist: i’m not telling anyone what i have planned. partially because it’s something i’ve never done before, but also. u know. to Encourage Suspense & Excitement. that sorta thing.
