Loch Ness Monster                                                                                                                                                                                                                   The Loch Ness Monster, affectionately dubbed "Nessie," is the most famous lake monster. Being sighted as early 565 AD, the first serious wave of Nessie sightings began in the 1930s. Witnesses tended to describe an animal with sleek, rubbery blackish-gray skin, about twenty feet long. Nessie usually has the serpentine body that is typical for sea serpents and lake monsters, and is also reported to have four "paddles" or sometimes stumpy legs. As a gentle giant, Nessie prefers to retreat at the first sign of confrontation and would rather swim away than take physical action. Nessie is both incredibly strong and intelligent, but is very illusive and tends to stay in the Loch Ness.

It was rediculous. There wasn’t a cloud in sight, and yet here Avner stood, holding an open umbrella. Why had he listened to his gut? Sure, it was generally right but.. This? This was silly! Silly bordering on the absurd, and there was no doubt in his mind that anyone who walked past at this exact moment would probably point and laugh at the fool holding an umbrella on the sunniest day the month had seen yet.

Sighing, and despite the lingering feeling that he may as well just keep the umbrella up a bit longer, Avner conceded to his anxiety. The umbrella was refolded, bound.. and he had only just finished putting it away and zipping his backpack shut when the first drop of rain landed on his scalp. then another, and another.

“Well that’s great..”
