my hope for V6 is we bring Penny back, but she’s not the same Penny, she’s a Penny built from the ground up without any memories from the original, and Ruby gets to make friends with her all over again

There's a very specific and frustrating type of bias against same-sex ships which I've noticed over time, and it's hard to describe because it's often fairly subtle but I'm going to try.
Basically what I'm talking about is not blatant homophobia, but rather a more lowkey and insidious form of pushback against same-sex pairings. Because I've noticed the same reactions every time a same-sex ship becomes popular or mainstream and it's so very tiring.
I'm talking about how as soon as a same-sex pairing gets a lot of attention or looks likely to be canon, suddenly a bunch of people will be incredibly “worried” about how it will affect the writing of the show.
They'll say things like “I'm fine with the ship but only if it's done well,” or “I just hope the shipping doesn't ruin the show.” And on a surface level these comments don't seem unreasonable because of course everyone wants the pairing to be written well and for the show not to be ruined, but it's the fact that they only raise these supposed concerns when it comes to a same-sex ship and never anything else which bothers me.
There will be absolutely no signs of poor writing for the pairing or the show being damaged because of shipping, yet these people will already be concern trolling or arguing based solely on hypotheticals to pre-emptively justify their lack of support for the LGBT+ rep. Usually they'll also point to some totally unrelated example of bad writing or toxic shippers ruining some other show/fandom and cite it as the reason they're so “worried,” even though it has nothing to do with the ship or show being discussed.
There are two other things that will happen as well. First, these people will start saying things along the lines of “Why does everything have to be about shipping?” or “Why is everyone talking about [insert same-sex ship] instead of [insert other thing]?” And I don't think I need to explain why it's a dick move to act like LGBT+ people being excited about potential rep is wrong/mindless hype over nothing or to compare it to people behaving toxically over a straight ship, or to try and tell people how they should enjoy media.
Second, out of nowhere you'll start seeing theories designed purely to ruin the potential same-sex pairing. Someone will suggest that the characters are secretly related, or predict that one of them will die horribly, or theorise that one of them will cheat, etc. Without any basis in canon, these ideas will suddenly crop up when the same-sex ship gets popular, and again I don't think I need to explain why this is bad. And yes, those were all true examples of theories I've seen multiple times about different same-sex pairings.
All of this is stuff which as an isolated incident could be easily dismissed, but which as a recurring pattern really shows the less obvious but no less annoying types of invalidation and double standards which popular same-sex ships always face.
Okay, rant over.

Anyway friendly reminder to believe abuse victims and condemn abusers. And also to show Arryn Zech all of the love in the world for being a wonderful human.

For all you Bob Morley stans, I would like to advise you to read his ex-girlfriend's (Arryn Zech) latest Instagram post. She has shared her story about the years of abuse she's endured from him and the toxicity that was their relationship. Within the letter, she talks about Bob cheating on her and having an affair with this girl for at least six months. He claims to have hated this girl, but still forced Arryn to befriend this girl and was always seen getting too close for comfort with her. It got to the point that he was caught on tape with this girl in the house he shared with Arryn. Arryn didn't address this girl by name. And I for one, don't want to make any accusations based on assumption. But, you all can guess who I have in mind. You are entitled to your own opinions and choices. As for me, I will no longer show support to this man and his career. I believe in Arryn and will remain to standby her. I can only hope you can see the significance behind all his wrongdoings as I do and why this matter is of importance.
