INSIGHT: BEYOND
"What is your insight regarding this issue?"
"Care to tell me your insights?"
I have always thought that insight was something that two or more people have the same thought or understanding of one particular thing. Or is it?
In the reading "Insight" by Ferriols and the clarifications I have gathered from my professor, and my father and sister, insight does not stick with only one insight. That it actually varies on different people, that each has their own insights on particular things or topics. To be fair, I didn't exactly know the true meaning of insight. In fact, I have always thought that insight and opinion are the same. Turns out, I was wrong!
Insights could be an opinion or a fact. However, there's one thing that enlightened me about the difference between the two. I would like to add that opinion - despite having your own thoughts and perspective - often includes personal reasons, as if there's a bias included. Unlike opinion, insights are carefully thought; gleaned from observation and thinking logically.
The reading "Insight" made me realize that Philosophy isn't merely opinionated. It is insightful; it taught me how to evaluate and unravel philosophical text, arguments, and information. It gives this "OH! I get it" or "Aha!" factor when revealing or discovering something new due to crossing an edge after thinking carefully about something - which literally happened after the professor clarified my questions! Big, thank you!
What makes it amazing is that in an Insight - the original one - you can gain different types of insight from it! Quoting Ferriols, “We may explore them in many ways and along different levels, but some superabundance of the original insight always remains beyond the reach of our techniques.”
Did I learn something? Well, I proudly would like to say yes! I learned something, a lot actually.
I am also delighted to ask questions and clarifications now (no matter how ridiculous it was for me) since I was nervous way before then.

ce que je comprends: Blind Men and the Elephant
Blind Men and the Elephant seemed fun to read - if you don't go beyond that. However, if you delve deeper into it, it's more than just "blind men and the elephant." In fact, it reminded me of a particular topic, which is religion.
The poem somehow fit how the religion works, most people believe in something, someone. It can be seen from the poem how "truth" is shown - relative truth to be specific. Through that limited knowledge and perspective, each blind man creates his own version of reality. Familiar, isn't it? Relativism and religious tolerance.
I learned how the poem is profoundly connected to religion. How each religion has its own perspective, especially in terms of worshipping God/s. How does one make their own reality with just a touch? Similarly, how does one create their reality with lack of information or evidence?
Christians have their own perception which they believe is the truth, and so does Muslims and other religions. None of them agree on each other’s belief, and that is where religious tolerance enters.
"So, oft in theologic wars The disputants, I ween, Rail on in utter ignorance Of what each other mean; And prate about an Elephant Not one of them has seen!"
Again, the six blind men as a narrow viewpoint on objective reality - but that doesn't mean that there isn't objective truth. Is truth objective? Relative? Theologically speaking, limited access to the truth does not say that any view of the facts is equally valid.
Blind Men and the Elephant have given me a wider perspective not just in religion, but also the different types of truth and how/where it applies.
note: I was unable to create a proper essay, if I ever did, I would be too anxious to submit as I didn’t know if it was enough. I would think it’s too short and I have difficulties in expounding, and rambling about it might lead me to write things that are not related to the topic at all. I am falling behind and I am fully aware. To say that I was scared to submit is an understatement, but I knew I had to suck it in since it’s my faults.
I would ask questions to myself, questions that I wish to ask to the professor but too scared as I would think the question is stupid - in which I have always learned that stupid questions deserve stupid answers.
I realized how difficult for me is to write essays, I know myself that my writing is far from academics essays - as I’m more into writing stories. Of course, I can’t use such writing style in academic essays, and I know that I needed to learn how to write coherently.
I have difficulties in explaining as well as putting my thoughts into words. My thoughts would sometimes get messy with ideas and statements, about the topic, but I couldn’t put myself to write it properly. I would note it down, but to no avail, I couldn’t piece it together. I’ve been deteriorating, physically and mentally because of my own faults and incompetency. However, I will try my best to do well in the later lessons.

As said by many, philosophy is a tricky subject - it is challenging to understand. It requires the person to think profoundly and encouraged to think outside of the box. During this, I was able to understand both readings somehow.
I cannot deny that I had troubles in the assessments, especially when it's essays. I realized that what I made at first was a reflective paper, where I lacked a lot of things. After realizing my mistake, I was able to come up with a better essay in "how to read."
However,  I struggled a lot in writing the "Why does one need to know how to write philosophical texts?". The reason for this is because I felt that something was lacking in the pdf file given, only for me to realize that It's still possible to write an argumentive essay about it.
Although I was able to understand, I tend to panic, and my mind would go blank whenever there are quizzes. If there was any difficulty, It would be a personal difficulty, but nonetheless, I just had to bear in mind that mistakes are made for one to improve and learn.

mon point de vue: AdDU Online Education
In the 21st century, people live in a technological and media-sufficient environment, characterized by exposure to an abundance of information, dramatic changes in technology, and the ability to cooperate and make individual contributions on an unparalleled scale. However, this year, 2020, people are stuck inside their homes because of a pandemic. This year, as technology rises, people can find ways to maintain their needs, thus, resorting to online. Academically, online learning gives both the advantages and disadvantages not only to students but also to teachers.
Students, despite the given schedule, give them flexibility. They can work to fit their work schedule more conveniently with their work. Even if they take an asynchronous lesson, they will still be able to communicate at their own pace with the professor and fellow classmates. Students can choose their own learning environment that best suits their needs: their bedroom, study, or living room.
Another benefit is self-discipline and responsibility. Although it's something that does not magically come, students can develop these skills. Online learning requires more self-motivation and time-management skills because students spend a lot of time on their own.
Access is an added benefit for the students. The digital world has a lot of information stored in it, from academic books and research papers. Students can gain access to a lot of things, especially expertise.  Under access, social networks can also be considered as a benefit because students can interact with different people outside school premises anytime, enabling them to expand their social network that would be useful when they graduate.
However, let us not forget the disadvantages of it, especially to those who are non-privileged. The Philippines, being part of the third world country, has citizens with no access to things such as the internet. The disadvantages of Online Education leans more on technicality and access.
Equipment is one of the significant problems. Some students yearn to learn. However, lack of equipment such as a computer or a *proper phone prevents them from doing so.
The connection is also one of the problems, as not everyone has access to a fast internet connection. Reality speaking, not everyone can afford to have wifi. Although there's an option to use mobile data, others prefer to spend their money on their daily needs than the internet.
In this list of disadvantages, familiarity comes in last. Despite having the equipment and the connection, the students' familiarity around the said gadget - like a laptop -  or website could actually affect the students' performance. Although it's not that common, some students get this fear in damaging a unit - especially if it's not theirs - or pressing a wrong button on a website or computer/phone setting.
-
*Proper phone - there are some students (or people) who own cellphones that are considered damaged. Issues like cracked screens (which may affect accuracy and sensitivity) and small internal storage and battery could affect their learning.
