I think I was actually contacted by this guy (or someone like them) being pretty damn insistent on converting Prom Dreams to MV, and I had to tell them "no" like three times to get them to go away. It was on gamejolt and not itch.io but still. DO NOT TRUST >_>
Important! 🚨 Please read and share
Hi everyone. There is a recent topic on rpgmaker.net discussing another possible game thief on itch.io. They go by the username Sight21 and ask people if they can convert their RPG maker games to MV presumably to steal their files. They have targeted many devs, including ones from this site. If you see any comments of theirs, do not reply and report them. There were known game thieves on there last year, I don’t want anyone’s hard work stolen or impersonated again. Please spread the word and keep your game files safe!

RPG Maker Dev “Play and Promo” idea?
Hey all, so while brainstorming ways to promote Turovero I had the idea of engaging in mutual promotion with other devs who may also be struggling to get the word out about their freeware game. How it works is simple:
Have an RPG Maker game with some sort of playable build (demos are fine!)
Contact me via Tumblr, Twitter (@QZProductions), or Discord (QueenieZ#6237)
I’ll play your game (and maybe livestream it??) and promote it on my devblogs, twitter, and in my discord server.
You do the same for one of my games! (Though you don’t have to livestream it I promise lol)
???
MUTUAL EXPOSURE!!
If anyone’s interested let me know! If you also want to use this idea that’s fine too, the more we help each other out the better! :D

This is a little late I know but in all my busyness I totally forgot to announce on this blog that Turovero was finished! :D;; If you like traditional JRPGs and dark stories please check it out!!
Turovero: The Celestial Tower Version 1.0 is now available!
Turovero: The Celestial Tower is freeware, dark fantasy role-playing game created with RPG Maker VX Ace.
Players will take on the role of four young adventurers - Sigurd, a brave and kind-hearted knight, Leilia, a gentle and motherly cleric, Edric, a gifted yet sharp-tongued mage, and Ruby, a cheeky, fun-loving thief - who have no recollection of their lives prior to meeting one another. Determined to free their world from the influence of an ancient evil, the Dark One, the group sets forth on their most perilous journey yet as they climb the mysterious divine tower, Turovero.
However, as the heroes ascend the Celestial Tower, they begin to realize that not everything is as it seems. Just what is the Dark One that plagues their world so, and what truly happened to the Four Gods of legend? The answers to these questions lie in wait for them at the top of the tower… but do they truly want to discover them?
Turovero: The Celestial Tower features:
A marriage of some of the best elements of RPG Maker games: the dungeon-crawler gameplay and aesthetic of old-school JRPGs with the mystery, intrigue, and macabre elements of the RPG Horror genre.
An original, dark, psychological story with multiple routes and endings, determined by player choices, exploration, and even battle outcomes.
All-original title, character, enemy, and cutscene artwork by a team of talented artists:
Title artwork by Cristina Moreno ( @caffeineandcarpaltunnel )
Character artwork by Genkaiko ( @genkaiko )
Enemy artwork by Amy C. ( @pleasedrawmore )
Cutscene artwork by Meaka ( @meakersneakers )
An entirely original soundtrack.
Environmental puzzle solving requiring the player to use character skills to their advantage.
A wide variety of optional, character-centric scenes to expand the story and affect its outcome.
Download the Full Version (1.0) now!
Requires the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP, which can be found here!
Please also check out my previous game, Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story!
Also available on RPG Maker.net, itch.io, and GameJolt!
#other projects#turovero#turovero: the celestial tower#confession: the exposure hasn't been quite as robust at launch as Prom Dreams was so any sharing reblogging etc. would be much appreciated!!

Dusting off this blog to do some sweet sweet cross promotion. YAY
Almost Done - Now Seeking Beta Testers!
Finally, after an admittedly long period of radio silence, I’m happy to announce that the first playable, beta build of Turovero: The Celestial Tower is at 95% completion! Thanks to everyone who’s been patient throughout this development process which has taken way longer than I expected… oops!
At this point in time, I’m trying to get the first beta build ready to go (that is, fully playable from beginning to end, minus some of the art assets but with placeholders to fill in the gaps, and bonuses like the developer’s room) by early May. As such, I’m looking for a few more beta testers than I already have lined up to help debug while I plug in finished assets and whatnot. If you have already contributed to the game as an artist, you automatically have beta privileges if you want to play the game early. But don’t feel like you HAVE to, mmkay? ;)
If you’re interested, please read the following terms and conditions and message me via Tumblr, Discord, Twitter, or any of my other social media. I will also be making a special server on Discord just for beta testers and bug reporting once the build is completed.
Terms and Conditions for Beta Testing
The job of the beta tester will include playing through the game, finding, and reporting any bugs, glitches, crashes, broken sequences, spelling/grammar errors, and other such things. ANYTHING you see that’s potentially broken should be reported via the Discord server (preferred), or through my other social media contacts.
The job of the beta tester will NOT include critiques or suggestions for things like additional features or major story or character changes. For the most part, these things are already set in stone, and while I would like any glaring plot holes pointed out to me, I won’t be changing essential story elements on request. Sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The version of Turovero you will be paying is an unfinished beta build with some features missing. While the entirety of the main scenario will be intact, some art assets and nonessential features (like the developer’s room) will not be present. You do not need to report any of these missing features, as they WILL be added. Promise!
While not strictly a horror game, Turovero does contain violence, heavy themes, and light horror elements. Please do not apply to be a beta tester if you are under the age of 14. If you want a more detailed content warning before applying, please message me and I’ll be happy to provide you one. :)
Under absolutely no conditions is the game or any of its components to be redistributed in any form prior to release! This means no posting screenshots, videos, LPs, audio, graphical resources, or story details! By agreeing to beta test, you also agree to this non-disclosure policy. In addition, please do not leak or distribute the beta build once the full game has been released, since it’s, you know, an inferior build and all.
Further tips/pointers will be included in-game for testers once the download link has been sent to you.
Thanks for all your help and support, and happy Beta-ing! \o/

Reblogging with updates! Hopefully the individuals in questions will keep their word.
“Review” website with stolen RPG Maker/Let’s Player content and game reuploads
Hey all, I was vanity searching for Prom Dreams Let’s Plays (again orz) and came across a video from this channel. (The video itself is now deleted, shortly before I finished writing this post) I immediately noticed something was fishy when a) the description link led to some completely different website, and b) that the crappy 144p video seemed awfully familiar… and then I was able to confirm that it was, in fact, @cristinicola-freshwallpapers no-commentary Let’s Play of the game. Classy, right?
Here’s where it gets better: their ACTUAL website (found by going through their facebook page) featured a “review” of Prom Dreams that was 50% copy and pasted from my description, featured stolen fanart by @shadowfairyy , and probably most damning of all, had a COMPLETELY REUPLOADED version of the game on their Google drive!
As of now I’ve sent them comments and emails essentially chewing them out for their plagiarism and blatant disregard of my Read Me terms, but I also know for a fact that they’re doing this to other games as well. Hopefully they’ll come clean and remove the content like I asked, but we’ll have to see I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@pinkuboa @vgperson (I know for a fact the games you translated are on there) @misc-rpg @flareblitzedyt @meakersneakers and any other RPG Maker blog I didn’t think to tag, if y’all could signal boost this so creators can check and see if their stuff got stolen, I’d appreciate it! Thanks!
EDIT: I’ve been exchanging emails with the owner of the blog in question, and here’s the tl;dr.
They claim the blog and YouTube channel were a part of a project for a marketing class and was never meant to go public, a deadline and technical difficulties were keeping them from using their own footage, and the project stipulated that files had to be uploaded to their own servers. They also claim that the project will end on December 15th, after which all reuploads will be removed. I provided them with some information regarding why reuploading is considered highly poor form (it steals away views and recognition from the original), offered alternative images to the misattributed fanart, and recommended OBS for their footage-capturing needs. I’ll be giving them the benefit of the doubt and returning after December 15 to ensure that the content has been removed as promise.
Lesson learned, kids: It’s always, ALWAYS easier to ASK to use content rather than simply yank it and hope nobody notices. RPG Maker devs are usually really chill and tight-knit; in my experience they’d be thrilled to help out a review project like this with permissions and resources. This seems like a case of genuine ignorance to that fact and I hope the individuals in question take it to heart for next time.
