We are so proud to be part of this upcoming event in Asbury Park, New Jersey with two of our WF Artists representing the joy of Color !! ••• On October 17th the Parlor Gallery and Sea Change AP will present an art exhibit and reception celebrating the completion of the "Wooden Walls Mural Project" at the Asbury Park Boardwalk. In addition to bringing attention to the murals existing at the Asbury Park’s historic Carousel, Casino, and Steam Plant buildings, accompanying works by artists that participated in the 2015 mural project will be on display and available for purchase. Many participating artists as well as curators will be in attendance for a Q&A. The reception will take place from 5 PM - 9 PM at the Carousel Building, located at 700 Ocean Ave in Asbury Park, NJ. The event is free and open to the public. The Wooden Walls Mural Project is a collaborative effort to bring public art to Asbury Park in an effort to enrich and add beauty to the community. By creating a conversation with local, national, and international artists Sea Change draws attention to the creative spirit that is fundamental to Asbury Park. Organizers recognize the town as a community that embraces creative endeavors and is appreciative of public art, and seek to promote the town’s reputation to this end. The local, national, and international artists selected were co-curated by area residents Jenn Hampton of Parlor Gallery and John Herguth of Madison Marquette. Artists were chosen based on their organic connection to Asbury Park as well as their outstanding use of colors, ideas, techniques and media. Each artist is unique in their statement, imagery and technique, thus giving the viewer a well rounded selection of contemporary public art. Participating artists include Tina Schwarz, Gilf!, Pork Chop, Harif Guzman, Hellbent, Shane Garron, Indie 184, Logan Hicks, Joe Iurato, Jose Mertz, and Pau Quintanajornet. Artists painted works of their own independent vision over the summer of 2015 at the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Visit Seachangeap.com for further information artists, murals, and this event. Today we celebrate with our friends in Tunisia and especially with our tunisian partners from Voicesof Jasmine e.V. (@voicesofjasmine) !!! The Nobel Peace Prize 2015 was awarded to NATIONAL DIALOG QUARTET "for its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011“. A photo from 21 September 2013 showing members of the quartet, left to right: president of the Tunisian employers union (UTICA), Wided Bouchamaoui, secretary general of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Houcine Abbassi , president of the Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH), Abdessattar ben Moussa and the president of the National Bar Association, Mohamed Fadhel Mahmoud. Photograph: Fethi Belaid/AFP/Getty Images Amid the chaos of Syria, Yemen and elsewhere, and the knock-on effect of the worst migrant crisis in Europe since World War II, the committee has chosen to honour a country which has taken a different route, in the hope it can be a beacon to others. ••• The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2015 is to be awarded to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet for its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011. The Quartet was formed in the summer of 2013 when the democratization process was in danger of collapsing as a result of political assassinations and widespread social unrest. It established an alternative, peaceful political process at a time when the country was on the brink of civil war. It was thus instrumental in enabling Tunisia, in the space of a few years, to establish a constitutional system of government guaranteeing fundamental rights for the entire population, irrespective of gender, political conviction or religious belief. ...

THE STREET ART MUSEUM AMSTERDAM - Art as tool ...
“GRAFFITI - NEW YORK MEETS DAM” is the name of the current exhibition at Hart Amsterdammuseum from Sept.18th 2015 till Jan. 24th 2016. Anna Stolyarova , founder and curator of SAMA - Street Art Museum Amsterdam got invited to write as a guest blogger during this happening and introduces us in her article the semi-permanent installation that transforms and evolves on a yearly basis. SAMA - an open-air gallery, is representative of a new media evolution in the true spirit of graffiti and urban art.
Our mural in Nieuw West, Amsterdam was our very first Wallflowers Project, painted by our artists SKOUNT and PAU. Seeing our “Spring Offering” representing the philosophy of WF during this current event - makes us more than proud !

September has arrived and we got a great opportunity to support our friends from THE PIGEON PLAN for a very sweet art project last week in Berlin . The new school year has already started in Germany´s capital and this means the guys of The Pigeon Plan got new skate courses for the “Willkommensklasse” at Jens Nydahl School in Berlin, Kreuzberg. To celebrate this new school year and get a first feeling for their skateboards these kids pimped their decks with some paint and brushes. We are so happy that we could be part of this event and are grateful that we could help Louis and Kerem a little bit in their innitiative !!
THE PIGEON PLAN is a project aiming at collecting used skateboards for children from poorer regions around South Africa and Germany. The complete boards that we're collecting will be shared with various institutions. The Pigeon Plan will work with childrens homes, primary schools, and other social services. At each location, a crew of volunteers, skateboarders, and helping hands will provide workshops, where the kids get taught the basics on a skateboard.
“Our goal is to share the freedom and comradeship of skateboarding” -
Louis Taubert - Founder. >> www.thepigeonplan.de
