Do you guys think that maybe the reason Eddie hasn't realized his feelings for Buck yet (that we know of) is because he thinks everyone feels that way around Buck? Because who wouldn't love Buck. He even told Buck that (Tommy) will learn to love him like we ALL do. And if he doesn't then he's an idiot.

But maybe Eddie is actually the idiot here because he doesn't realize he's in love with his best friend

irl a medic unit will stage outside a fire scene and take your vitals when you come out to switch oxygen bottles. and you aren’t supposed to go back in until your heart rate/bp drops back below a certain threshold. this becomes a problem for buck now that eddie is the one doing his rehab and he’s like no i’m good i swear. just let me go back in. and eddie’s like well no i mean what if i let you go back in and you get hurt. and buck is like okay then let hen check me out. if you are so complicated. it’s your fault my heart rate’s up anyway. and eddie is like what, because i’m arguing with you about this?? seriously? and buck is like um. yeah. yes that’s it. that is why. no other reason. just normal reasons. and eddie is like ugh. fine. 🙄 whatever. and lets hen do it. and buck refuses to meet her eye. yay.

i was talking about this with @fraddit a while ago but it is still lodged in my brain so:

buddie roommates era, but it's... it's really not going well. it's a small house, there's no real privacy. either buck is sleeping on the couch or they're taking turns, but either way it sucks - the couch is fine for a night or two, but not for weeks on end. half of buck's stuff is in storage and the rest of it is mixed up with eddie's and neither of them can ever find anything, and on top of that there's no way for either of them to get any space. there's all this tension between them that never seemed to be there before. minor conflicts keep escalating, they're snapping at each other constantly, it sucks so much. buck is frustrated because he was so happy when eddie and chris moved back, so what the hell is wrong with him?? eddie feels horribly guilty because they only reason buck is there in the first place is that he gave up his loft to help eddie go fix things with chris. it's miserable. they're both miserable. buck finally finds a new place and they're both secretly, guiltily, so relieved. now everything can get back to normal. right???

anyway, the night before he moves, they're packing up, and they're bickering in a way they're both pretending is playful, but it's really not. eddie says something bitchy, and buck is like, 'well, don't worry, i'll be out of your hair for good tomorrow,' and goes to leave.

eddie grabs his arm and stops him.

and he meant to say something, he had a snappy retort right there, but he doesn't say it. they just stay like that for a longggg moment, closer than either of them meant to be. and then a couple of things happen in quick succession: eddie's eyes drop to buck's mouth for a couple of seconds, and they both sway closer, and then eddie lets go of him like he just caught fire and flees the room.

they both spend the rest of the evening avoiding each other and, quite frantically, repeating to themselves, eddie's straight/he's straight/i'm straight.

and then the next day buck moves out.

and things between them very much do not get back to normal.

Thinking about Pepa thinking Buck and Eddie are together and telling Eddie as such, but Eddie just. Doesn't correct her. Now Eddie needs to tell Buck so they can start Fake Dating. It takes a while for Eddie to tell Buck, of course, and Pepa still never suspects a thing. But Eddie knows her, and she finds out he lied to her? She will smack him in the head. Except Eddie doesn't know why he's so nervous to tell Buck and he's talking to henren about it, and they give each other a Knowing Look, which Eddie doesn't like at all until eventually Eddie says what in a nervous tone. Then henren looks back towards Eddie, and oh no, Eddie thinks he hates that more— before karen eventually says that maybe he has feelings for him, just something to think about— and the thing is, now he can't stop thinking about it. But he does tell Buck eventually, to which Buck agrees, and oh no, he does have feelings for Buck

I’m gonna be honest with y’all. I think Eddie handing Chris’s adoption papers to Buck is more likely than that man kissing him. And that’s just how crazy these two are.

Later, Eddie won’t be able to put his finger on what, exactly, finally did it.

Maybe it’s the fact that they're nineteen hours into their last shift before their seventy-two, the firehouse still and quiet the way it always is when it's so late at night it's wrapped back around to being too early.

Maybe it’s the fact that they're nineteen hours into a shift that feels like it's lasted more than twice that, each call dragging on into monotony, his muscles tense with an anticipation that's had no outlet.

Or, maybe just it’s seven years of them finally catching up to him, stacks of evidence piled so high that he can't pretend not to notice it anymore. It's a steady presence watching his back, offering a hand almost before he can ask for it. It's evenings spent on the couch, dinners cooked and dishes washed side by side, fun facts and wordless glances and countless days of shared blood, sweat, and tears, every moment another chip at his resolve, as inevitable and inescapable as gravity.

All Eddie knows for sure is this: he wakes up in the bunk room in the middle of the night, his heart racing from an already-forgotten dream. He reaches out instinctively, squinting out at the bed across from his own, but he already knows that it's empty

He throws back his blanket and rolls to his feet, creeps past the rest of his sleeping teammates, and slips out the door.

Buck isn't hard to find, not that he ever is—at least, not for Eddie. He's sprawled out on one of the couches in the loft, decked out in his LAFD sweats and hoodie, his head on the armrest and legs stretched out over the cushions, thumbing lazily through his latest book.

"Hey, Eds," he murmurs, glancing up at him with a small, sleepy smile. Eddie feels his shoulders soften, a tension he didn't realize he was holding melting away, and his feet carry him forward. "You know, you don't have to— oh," he finishes quietly, soft and startled.

Which is fair enough, given that Eddie's crawled up his body and flopped right on top of him, a leg thrown over his hips and an arm across his chest, tucking his face into the curve of his shoulder.

He feels Buck's breath shudder through his lungs, feels his heartbeat pick up a few clicks. Then a warm hand settles over the back of his head, fingers raking carefully through his hair.

"Oh," Buck says again, a little wondrous. Like Eddie's something worthy of wonder—he nestles closer, sinks deeper. "Are we doing this now?"

Eddie lets out an long exhale—it tastes like relief, and maybe a little wonder of his own.

"Yeah," he answers just as quietly, twisting one of the strings of Buck's hoodie between his fingers. "We're doing this now."

"Okay," Buck says, like it's really that simple.

Maybe it is. Maybe it can be.

Buck's other arm curls around his back, cradling him close. Eddie feels himself relaxing in increments, lulled by unspoken safety of Buck's hold, the familiar smell of his his skin, the gentle thud of his heartbeat beneath his ear.

It makes him brave enough to ask, a hushed plea, "You know, don't you? You know?"

A brush of pressure against his forehead—sweet and understanding.

"Yeah, Eddie," Buck promises. "I know."

And for right now, that's enough.

My latest post wasn't even about Ryan lmfao. I'm in full support of trans and nb people. Also fully support recasting Ryan because of how problematic he is due to his racist, misogynistic, and transphobic views.

It pisses me off how people are trying to cancel people just because they follow someone on social media who's problematic. Just because they follow them doesn't mean they like them or agree with their morals (or lack of).

What if Eddie has sworn off dating. Because the whole Kim Situation hurt Chris and he feels so guilty about that, about lying to Buck, etc. so when he figures out he is in love with Buck he thinks he can't do anything about it. But eventually it all gets too much so he goes back to the hot priest and confesses, and the hot priest says something like

"Eddie, you're a human who has been through trauma. Punishing yourself by robbing yourself of joy is not the answer."

So we get back to where Eddie is trying to find joy in things, and the biggest thing that brings him joy that isn't Chris is Buck. And he's like "oh, well if Mr hot priest says I can have joy..." And cue awkward flirting bc Eddie doesn't actually have any game, but Buck is so gone that he finds it endearing, and eventually Eddie gets the guts to confess to him

In s9 they should do a scene similar to the one in s2, where the elf told Buck that he has a beautiful family, but instead it should be to Eddie. Maybe they're out grocery shopping or something and they're talking, probably bantering about something. And maybe Buck gets ahead of Eddie or something and this elderly woman appears and says that she and her husband used to act exactly like that in a fond, sad smile. And Eddie waits for the panic to come like it did when people thought he and ana were husband and wife, except it doesn't. Instead he feels warm and maybe a little like a weight he doesn't know he's been holding has been lifted, and oh, he's in love with Buck, isn't he?

After Eddie saves Buck from getting crushed to death by slamming him against a wall, Buck becomes obsessed with the thought of Eddie's body pressed against his own. He then decides to do the most normal thing about it, which is throwing himself into danger in hopes that it will inspire Eddie to push him against a wall again.

Basically just 13k of Buck pining like an idiot and his flirting attempts becoming more and more drastic by the hour.

Buck had thought he'd figured out what he was supposed to do with his life thanks to a sudden, crazy dream inspired by a movie and an invitation from some strangers in a bar, but a car accident that results in a serious injury destroys a chance of becoming a firefighter. But thanks to a friendly face, and a place of comfort, Buck finds a new goal of becoming a zookeeper at L.A. Zoo.

Three years later, and he couldn't be happier. He loves his job, he loves the joy the animals bring, and he loves presenting the Penguin Show. He especially loves trying to spot the regular his friends and colleagues call Hot, Single Dad and his son.

When the son enters a competition to win an afternoon with the penguins, Buck might just have the chance to take this from crush on a stranger to something more.

Personally I think that when Buddie gets together I think that they should keep it from the rest of the team just for a little bit, and no one figures it out except for Ravi. Everyone is gaslighting Ravi and saying things like "that's just Buck and Eddie", even Hen even though she will get some sort of inside knowledge because Buck and Eddie are idiots who Don't Talk About The Thing. And so when buddie finally does come out to the team, Ravi would be like "I told you!" And cue chim's surprised face because he did not suspect a thing versus hen's proud face that says "finally" (she will be talking about this to Karen)
