She can barely make out some extra persons looking up after her shout stretches across the valley. Logical for there to be a whole squad overlooking this reconstruction, but the extra help is appreciated nonetheless! However, only one wayward shadow seems to be getting closer after a minute passes. Anna hopes that for her sake, this one person would be strong enough to lug a bag full of bricks. For now, another couple of pulls shouldn’t hurt her…too much.
As luck would have it, the assistance in questions turns out to be none other than Felix himself! This is just great, genuinely! They can get to some small talk before being forced to focus on the task at hand. Not that the work should be void of any interaction, but something tells her that slinging some stone around isn't in the top-rank of conversation starters.
"Yep! It's just...me, but I'm more than enough! Professor Anna is at your ser-" the redhead goes for a simple introduction she wouldn't stumble over while carrying the load only to be met by Felix reaching out for the sack. She naturally lets go from fatigue, allowing for him to take on the responsibility. She is shocked (but not that surprised) to see him going at it with only one hand, yet retaining a good posture.
"You have my thanks...Felix Hugo Fraldarius, correct?" she starts with his full name, to test the waters. "Actually, the monastery did not provide me with the bag. Paid for it myself as well! Sounded like you needed all the help you could get."
Should she have confessed the lack of support from her employer? By the sound of his words, they were expecting more help than a simple professor. Oh well, anything that shows her in a brighter light is always a benefit. Besides, she didn't tell him everything. Each brick was about...25 g or so? She stopped thinking about it after trying to count how much was in the bag. Ignorance is bliss.

“Let’s see here…foodstock at that price is fair enough. The rate on that sword matches the tag…woah! You’re telling me a simple stone could fetch that high?!”
Anna does little to hide her excitement, critique, and fascination as she goes through the streets of House Gloucester’s capital. And why should she remain silent? She’s smack-dab in the middle of one of the grandest battlegrounds she could ever imagine to take part in: a hustling and bustling marketplace! Of course, the great hustle only means that her comments are drowned out by the exchanges of actual shoppers, along with the haggling of desperate buyers and the roaring advertisements from less-fortunate stalls.
Not that this concerns the professor whatsoever. She’s here purely for research, and the more she can spare her wallet the better. At times it is difficult to remember she is no longer commanding an army, having to financially handle every single purchase and consider its repercussions in future expenditures.
Likewise, the freedom of pressure exposes her to a whole new issue: peer pressure. Why, the crowd seems pretty absorbed in whatever that artist is selling. Surely there wouldn’t be any harm to check-
“Hmm?”
Before she makes a potentially fatal error (fatal for her funds, at least), she feels a somewhat light touch on her shoulder, proccing her to turn right bound and discover the source of the limb. Anna, of course, easily recognizes the boy despite his unfamiliar golden-laced student outfit. His face says it all; it was the Prince of Leonster himself, Lord Leif! And wait, He is already familiar with my name?!
“You are absolutely correct, kind sir!” Anna starts with a estatic wink, merely happy to be recognized by another so easily. Obviously, she keeps away from revealing she is aware of the prince in her own way.
“But then, might I ask for your name in return? And how you are already acquainted with my identity?” the redhead strikes a usual pose, with her full right hand under her chin. If Leif truly is a student, then surely her renown as a professor at the academy has already skyrocketed her to the top!

Anna eyes the tall man's imitation of a stall before immediately knowing what to do.
The merchant (who thankfully was not the redhead she dreaded facing) who held that so-called legendary bow has been on her mind the entire day. However, catching a huge beast to sweeten the weapon's deal is no simple feat. And the amount of zeroes tacked onto the bow's selling price...ugh, just thinking about it gives her chills!
She's only familiar with Balthus on a surface level, yet that is enough to know that he is a strong ally. Whatever large target she would risk taking on should be safer with a grappler on her side! He is potentially informed regarding the surrounding forests to hunt in. How much knowledge, she doesn't know for certain, but any information is better than her current lack of any.
Now, spending 1000g just to slash half the cost of a future investment may seem sketchy, even if the price drop will be dynamic. But it is Balthus' final pitch that finally sways her heart: a return of 1500g upon the end of their contact. That's a flat 500g profit when ignoring the money she's saving from satisfying the vendor! It's almost too good to be true! ...his words are true, right?
A small batch of gold coins pour on the table from Anna's pockets. "My Ki- oh sorry, my Lucrative King of Grappling! Professor Anna would like to call upon your aid!" Now that she said it aloud, is it strange for a professor to pay for help from a student? In all fairness, the student here is tall enough to make her look like the trainee.
"A cruel seller is holding a bow with my name on it hostage for a hefty price tag. The only way to end their tyranny is to hunt a mighty beast and fell their sale by half! I only require your assistance in obtaining a find that satisfies their greed."
She pushes her fee over the stall while speaking her request, smiling to silently signal her belief in his strength.

okay but why is the merchant coming to me for the merchant-ing

Anna naturally steps back slightly upon the man's presentation of true intimidation. While it doesn't make the woman herself desperate to run toward the hills, she can feel her heart somewhat shaken. It is an emotion only comparable to dire straits in a tough battle or having to deal with some of the less cooperative Heroes of her Order.
But that's just the thing - Gerome here is a student, her only student right now! And she isn't even able to move him an inch in the direction of what she toiled over the whole afternoon! What a waste...
Maybe it's time to brush off the "scary skeleton" charade and make up a different approach.
"No no, you're absolutely right..." there is a small stammer at the start of her speech, a mix of embarrassment and fear. "Which is why I must ask you instead...brave one, will you rise instead and cross your axe against those who oppose you - and threaten this very world?!"
Her tone is done being low and threatening, instead going for a more proud, soaring voice that still offers seriousness but in a more uplifting manner. Anna must always be capable of switching to pitch whatever has to be sold, after all.

The faintness in the princess' voice is enough to confirm to Anna that Lachesis' mind lies elsewhere, perhaps in a place beyond the land they stand in. The commander has always found it... difficult to recall the specific backgrounds of every single Hero, to say the least. Not to mention that she must remind her again that Lachesis and those residing at the monastery are not Heroes. There's a story that Anna is missing, one which she is uncertain of if it is even truly relevant at this moment.
All she is here for now is to punch rocks. Maybe Lachesis, or everyone else here, has a greater reason for standing here today. But Anna's mission is to crush stone, and by gods she'll crush stone.
When the blonde finally responds to pestering and accepts the challenge, Anna returns her grin with a playful smile. "That's the spirit! Ah, and there is no need for a prize," well, that's sort of a lie. Anna would love a prize for any reason, but seeing rising morale in her ally (or as Lachesis put it...her "wrath unfolded"?) is more than enough of a reward. Besides, if she wins this whole competition, surely she can settle for that grand prize!
"I am aware this exhibition only desires the largest rock smashed, but starting with the small fry should prove gratifying," Anna lays down a format for their test, walking over to a new target for herself. Contrary to her words, this rock is quite bigger than your typical "small fry," but the redhead is still riding off the high of her previous two smashes.
Ooo, of course the professor is still hesitant to follow Anna. She couldn't really blame her for being suspicious of a stranger just excited to punch some brick.
"You can just call me Instructor Anna! Or Professor Anna, whatever you find more fitting. Just Anna works too. A simple teacher honed in the martial arts. Like so!"
Anna Rock Smash Check: 6...
Her ego might have finally caught up to her, as she punches down once more only to add a slight dent to her bulkier opponent. Trying to show off in front of the other later also cancelled some of her prior focus. She's going to have to try a little harder if she wants her instructor pitch to land properly...

She only speaks two words - her outdated title - but everything else about her says all that Anna had feared. Colder, red eyes that threaten to drain Anna’s own, a mask hiding facial emotion from the upper-half, and a skin that is not of the mortal plane. This is indeed Veronica, as Anna had managed to stumble out. But this is not her Veronica, the Embla princess that she has formerly fought against for years only to eventually temporarily alliance against common enemies.
No, this Veronica is dead. Dead yet alive thanks to the blessing (or more like curse) of the Land of Hel.
They’ve only battled each other in one war effort, in which Askr was victorious. Though Anna supposes she can’t be surprised that a being who plays by different rules from mortals is standing in front of her now, even if Alfonse felled Hel’s ruler. No, the proper question now is why here?
“Just Anna is fine, Gene- Lady Thrasir,” the professor abruptly pauses to correct herself, almost falling for the same militaristic title. They are not enemies within this monastery. It would be difficult to continue the facade without any soldiers for either to command. (Or at least, she hopes Thrasir lacks any dead units to fight with in a place like this.)
“How did you…end up here? And for how long?” Anna’s tone while questioning does not escape the initial hints of tenseness, yet she tries to sound more sincere. Come to think of it, they never truly checked back on the dead land after the conflict was resolved. Then again, what new could flourish from what has already been lost?

Her boots collide with stone as she follows behind the former mercenary's steps, trusting him to lead the way around the town. Byleth should certainly know the place better than Anna, not to mention the lack of daylight makes a patrol route more difficult to clearly draw out. He doesn't seem to mind taking the lead anyway.
It would be nice to break some conversation with such an interesting Hero-turned-colleague like Byleth, but the lateness of the day doesn't make for such a talkative time. It is better to remain silent in the first place, to get the jump on any suspicious soldiers that made their way into town. Anna is only still learning of the current state of Fódlan, though she still couldn't see truly threatening forces getting caught conspiring in the middle of public, even at night. Just in case, she has light armor under her normal clothes and an iron axe on her side. (No need to show off Nóatún without a proper threat evaluation.)
Her theory is proven partially correct at the sight of a small group flailing around what had to be practice or iron weapons at most. It might still do good to check on them, Anna thinks, ideally aiming to prevent further unneeded reports, though Byleth is already turning back the way they came. That is, until one of the men has the bravery to speak to them.
The woman's gaze remains on the soldier, even if he is too afraid to match. Well, the "firing" part definitely explains the amatuer form. Even so, his resolve in his words is clear, and as much as gunning for a full-fledged Knight of Seiros is a lofty dream...there is nothing wrong in giving it a try.
Every fighter has to start from somewhere, a point Anna knows all too well.
That is why when Byleth finally talks to her once more, Anna is quick to turn to him and provide an answer. "There should be no harm in granting them a few pointers! You must be familiar with some basic drills, right Byleth?"
Anna shifts her attention back to the soldier without waiting for a response from the fellow professor. "The two of us will be glad to provide a lesson for you. However, we will do so on one condition: take your training outside of the city walls. Reports of your actions have led to unease, and it would be for the best to quell any paranoia on your end. Deal?"
Why are you sad stop being sad please-
With an uneasy peace settling back over Fódlan, many soldiers that had been conscripted by paranoid nobles are now being sent home. However, some had seen this as their big chance to become knights and to make something more of themselves. They're unwilling to let go of their training, and reports of these ex-soldiers convening together late at night reaches you and your party. Upon investigation, the ex-soldiers ask you to join them in these sessions, hoping either to learn from you, to practice with you, or to simply get a good word in with the Knights of Seiros. They ask for a future, having been robbed of one already, but do you really have any place to give them one?

"You!" Linus barked, jabbing a finger at the woman as he stomped up to her. "How the fuck did you beat me?!" It's presented as a disbelieving, angry sort of question, but he was...more or less, actually asking. He remembered most of the fight, but the point where he got knocked out was a bit of a messy jumble for him.
Sure, he was pissed about getting knocked out right after he finally landed a hit, but he didn't think his foes incapable.
"I was just gettin' my shit goin', and then you--!! What did you even do?!"
Ah, she was wondering when the oversized pup would show up.
As much as she would have loved to support her side of the battle as the fight begins to meet its end, Anna's elimination in the previous combat prevents her from directly stepping back in. She could spectate the remaining participants, although the thought of only watching a fight she holds stakes in doesn't sit well with the commander. So instead she decides to remain at the medical tents, perhaps seeking out previous combatants or meeting some new faces.
As of right now...well, he at least fits the former request.
Anna naturally is pushed back by Linus' poke, but his vulgar prose and pissed tone prove he is more bark than bite for now. Besides, she couldn't imagine even him picking a fight in the middle of neutral territory. The redhead takes back her ground and flashes a light smile.
"It's simple, Mad Dog. I kept a clear head at a time when you could not," while her words are true, memories of flubbing two openings in her last battle linger on her mind to remind her of the contrary. But he didn't need to know about that! "You should know best to respect a worthy foe on the field, no?"
It's hard to be threatening, let alone intimidating, towards a man that holds a fair amount of height over her, but Anna leans in slightly with a wink. "But you can always swing by for a lesson of mine if you need a refresher, Linus. Deal?"

Camilla furrowed her brow… There was something familiar about this one… “Pardon me, but you look familiar… Do you have a sister or something?” 🧃
Anna is still shaking off the pushback of the previous rounds' wind blasts when she is approached by a purple woman outside of the medical tents. Right, she recalls seeing Camilla running around the tents earlier after the first combat, treating those who were injured. How kind of her to pass a vulnerary in her time of need!
Wait no, under closer inspection upon being in front of her, the royale is not handing her a vulnerary. Instead it appears to be a...box of juice? Well, it is always important to stay hydrated, and her wounds are not that fatal to require the curative.
As she reaches over to receive the drink, the commander is met with the usual Anna-ly mixup of the day. Not that she can blame the confusion in the other's voice, it's almost natural. Anna is surprised that she hasn't caught her alternative self out here trying to make a quick buck...
"Ah, thanks!" Anna takes the box and swiftly inserts the straw for a sip to catch her breath. The label on front does not lie, there is indeed juice within the juice box. The redhead senses many fruits, along with a hint of...cranberry? Certainly a comforting taste after her knockout.
"Oh, right. I'm Anna and...well, sister is one way to put it. Just remember me as the tough and noble one, that should clear up any uncertainty!" Anna winks, certain that Camilla is familiar with at least one of her money-hungry lookalikes.

On her countdown, the student reveals an axe of his own. Good, so he took from the announcement to be prepared for anything! Although...the addition of a weapon is meant to help fend her, the pursuer, off while they made an escape. From the way Gerome is holding his weapon, however, it appears that he implies to stand his ground...
Even when her counting slows down to emphasize the slow pace that she elevates Nóatún, his grip only tightens. Does he really have to act so stubborn? Now, of all times?!
"Z-zero!" is the one response Anna lets out in response to Gerome's cruel (yet true) critique of her current battle stance. "Oh, come on! You want to run right? Just...go!" Anna punctuates her go with finally releasing her axe downwards with a swing that obviously is not meant to connect with the man. In fact, her personal weapon only ends up stuck within the forest ground, forcing her to tug it out and stagger back.
"You're not scared, are you...? No, of course you're not. Urgh, why didn't I plan for this?" Anna's head is low as she sulks to herself, hiding a small pout from who she is meant to be instructing.

"Alright lady, this is your stop."
The lady in question rises from a brief slumber, patting her gloved hands over the seating to confirm the reality. Still in the carriage, yep! And, just as the external voice confirmed, a look outside reveals Conand Tower - or at least whatever remains of the tower - in the distance. She pulls up the large and (oof) heavy sack she was previously resting on and steps out.
"Mhm! I can take it from here. Thank you for your service, kind sir!" Anna exclaims her thanks to the driver, though she is only met with a stern expression from the other. This was a rather off-beaten path to navigate. But have I not paid him enough...?
"...oh, fine. Your assistance does not go unnoticed," Anna sighs and rustles through a shirt pocket for a stray 50g, plopping it down next to where the worker is seated. He finally shows some appreciation with a grin and small nod before picking up his tip and riding off in the direction they arrived from. Curse her generosity at times...although surely a small donation is fine to part with?
She doesn't waste long fretting over pinched pennies, as a current mission from her employer requires her full attention. Well, in reality it's both a mission and pickup. She is to meet Felix Hugo Fraldarius, a returning student to the Officer's Academy. Of course, the commander is more familiar with him as the Lone-Wolf Blade while serving the Order of Heroes. Even as a student, however, Anna is certain that his strength with a blade is close to unmatched!
Not that his sword hand will be tested on this day, as their mission serves a different purpose. It is the reason why she is dragging the heavy bag alongside her; its contents being stone and building material. Anna has only heard about the recent damages to the Faerghus kingdom, but this task allows her to learn about the surrounding land directly. It isn't her first session of fortifications and rebuilding either, so the professor sees the job as killing two birds with one stone! Erm...not that the stones she carries are meant for bloodshed.
After some hefty tugs on the bag, Anna is closer to the border-marking tower. With a greater view of the place, she can definitely tell that damage has been done. Though at the same time the structure is already old...natural erosion could just as easily be the culprit of this destruction.
"Ah...! Heeey! Over here!" Anna is close to reaching the building but already sees a figure within the distance. She shouts out her location and waves her free hand out, hoping to meet up with the subject before fatigue from brick-dragging starts to kick in.
