You get it. I may focus a bit more on All Might in my arguements bc I am so deeply connected w him as a character, but you're completely right too, it is in fact canon that it drastically lowers the lifespan of holders that have a quirk(One of them died at just 18 years old)-

The only reasonable explanation I can think of is MAYBE wanting to rush a storyline where One For All fades off bc Izuku dies before he can pass it off to someone else, but even then that would be. A really shit storyline to take.

and like... idk.

A massive plot point is that All Might is probably going to die soon. As it stands rn that feels bittersweet, All Might able to pass on in peace knowing he has someone to take his place that he trained specifically for this.

But if Izuku turns out to have a quirk its just going to be bitter for me. Knowing all the work he put in was for nothing- And that he could have HAD someone else. That Izuku was never meant to have One For All, and that he was chosen for being willing to risk it all w/out a quirk to save someone. There's not going to be that peace either; cause he knows the effects of One For All if they already have a quirk. He'll go worrying about how long til Izuku joins him- If there will *be* another one or if Izuku will go with nobody to take his place.

Its been shown some villains were only able to be defeated using One For All at full power. What happens if there ISN'T someone with One For All? Would anybody else be able to take them down?

And like. Yeah, All Might has made some shit decisions. He knows this too though, and.. Idk. I don't think he deserves to have to have this discovery happen during what is most likely one of the last years of his life.

And thats going to mean nothing now if Izuku had a quirk this whole time.
