he didn't respond to your discord invite to call, nor did he even see your message asking to game. although you initially suspected he was ghosting you, you come to realise that he hasn't even been logging in to any of his games, which meant he hadn't been gaming at all. when a week passes and it's still radio silence from hiori, you get worried. you regret not asking him a little more about himself, because how useful can knowing he's from the kansai region be if something bad actually happened to him?

almost two months after his sudden disappearance, you get a message from hiori saying, "sorry, got locked in a facility without internet access. apex?", and what else can you say to that but "what the fuck?"

As much as I'm happy for Blue Lock S2, I also want to gatekeep Hiori from the animation team.

There is some kind of emptiness in his eyes that I haven't quite seen in the few frames of anime he was featured. I'm afraid that they might, unintentionally, ruin his character design for me—I don't want him to just be a soft looking boy; his eyes told his story way before Manga did.

Even when he was visibly smiling or laughing, there was some kind of sadness that was always, unknowingly, lingering around.

Something about him felt melancholic, and everything made sense when his backstory was revealed.

You might think I've gone crazy, but he seems so free now after the Ubers match. It doesn't make sense, I know, but at the same time, it makes a lot of sense.

“the abused become the abuser” is the perfect description of Kaiser and i have to agree on your opinions on his backstory and when you said that in one of your posts. The amount of trauma he had survived, his mother leaving him alone with that shit excuse of a father that he lived and all of a beating from his father is heart shattering. Constant fear and pain in only things he knew while growing up, “if i fall, im gonna die” is practically his motto. Constantly stuck in a loop he is not even aware that he is apart of. He is not a bad person but he bites and wrestles yet he doesn’t know AND down enjoy it. He is not a violent man naturally and he doesn’t know why he bites.

(did i absolutely repeat that famous quote of a “isle of dogs” film, of course i did because it’s a perfect match for this)

🚬 *sighs in three octaves of melodrama* i'm not strong enough for this right now. gonna need to smoke ten full packs later just to forget about the eerie amount of similarities i have with said fictional character. i guess we're digging more up than flowers at this point in spring. we're digging up the skeletons too. of all the gut-wrenching character tropes to exist, kaiser just had to embody the worst ones. he becomes the very thing that he hates. he destroys everything he touches. he tries to escape his fate but ends up fulfilling it in the process.

i think the most horrible part of it all is the cyclical nature of his pain. everything in his family is passed down onto him. he acts just like his father, and he looks just like his mother. the one place where his parents are finally united in love is in the features of his own face. but even then, he's never satisfied with how he looks, constantly changing his appearance until he no longer recognizes himself in the mirror.

tbh this was a pandora's box because ever since his backstory dropped, everything kaiser has done in the past now has different meaning. he literally told ness a few chapters ago that the only time he ever felt genuine happiness was when he was destroying other people's lives. back then, it might've been interpreted as some sadistic tendency to crush other people's dreams in order to bring up his own. but now, it's more or less a reflection of his past. he was told that he ruined everything (his parent's marriage, his father's life, whatever potential happiness he could've had), so i guess he sort of internalized this cruelty.

i think kaiser is the type of person to hunger for fame not out of greed but out of desperate belief. he think that if he works hard enough, proves himself strong enough, climbs high enough, he can reach a point where no one will ever be able to touch him. and that also means no one will ever be able to hurt him.

This is exactly why I love Hiori. Definitely, he's extremely perceptive and emotionally intelligent. A lot of this is because of his high composure, but in the light novel, his calmness is mainly explained by him distancing HIMSELF from HIS emotional state (and that he was lowkey kind of slowly losing it until someone finally listened to him (aka Karasu)). Essentially, in the light novel, it says he's not very in tune with his emotions because of how he views his life as "being a character in a video game and his path is his character settings" (Karasu says Hiori has a passive mindset too). Makes you wonder how someone that can't exactly understand his OWN emotions (until Ubers match) can be so emotionally intelligent and be able to listen to other people with full intention... It's so interesting how someone like him ended up being called blue lock biggest sadist too LMAO. When you look at the light novel and his egoist bible profile, he's a bit...strange😭. (I apologise for my yapping)

It's not just Hiori being kind perse. It's about him having a high emotional intelligence.

Despite being cool and reserved most of the time, he knows how to act accordingly in every situation and he doesn't really put himself in compromising situations.

He also doesn't give "unnecessary advice." If you have problems, he'll really "listen properly."

Hiori could have a career as a diplomat or even a counselor outside of soccer or being an avid gamer tbh.
