it turns out eric didn’t think hanging out with her was too bad. he did feel like he was at least a few levels above her just for the locations of their homes, but he was trying - really trying hard - to put that behind him. she was actually kinda nice. that and the fact that anna wasn’t an option anymore. a laugh left his lips, it sounded ridiculous when she said it, sometimes he thought he didn’t listen to himself too much when he spoke. “yeah, me too. it’s a charity thing so it makes me feel better about it, i actually kinda miss going to these events so i’m glad there’s one while i’m here.” he told her, taking a moment to look at her as he thought about her question. “i think plain black and white or maybe just white this time around. i’m not quite sure. there’s a saint laurent just around the corner and versace beside it, they should have good stuff. have you been enjoying being home?”

His motivations behind wanting to spend time with her were unclear, but Naomi chose to not dwell on that aspect of things. It felt better to just live in the moment sometimes and she came to the conclusion that, where Eric was involved, that route would always be best. “You give to charity?” She questioned, doing her best to not sound too shocked by that revelation. In her head, he was the type that would only have interest in spending on himself. It was another reason why she needed to try and get rid of all of her preconceived notions of him. “I think you could totally pull off the all white look,” she concluded after looking him up and down for just a second. “It’s nice. Like the familiarity of everything is cool. My dad’s having me work while I’m here, though. I guess I could kind of live without that.”

Even as little as a week ago, Naomi could’ve never predicted that she’d be in the scenario that she was in during that very moment. Walking step by step beside Eric Prescott was an odd experience, yet at the same time, she somehow felt like she just belonged. Spending time together during the show was one thing - they were on an island with very few other options. So the fact that they were in a city of over 8 millions and he was still willingly spending time with her meant something. She just wasn’t sure what yet. “A gala? Sometimes I forget that things like that are even real,” she commented, eyes wide as she looked from shop to shop as they made their way down the street. “What color scheme do you think you’re gonna go for?”

even the air around them seemed to be different ever since he landed back in new york. there was no place like home and he would stand behind that statement no matter what. eric loved being in new york, he loved the busy city and even the assholes along the way. the arquiteture and the art that the city was itself, there was no place that could be compared to this. as he walked beside naomi, his eyes looked around at the stores  he missed shopping, even. “i need to buy a suit for this gala thing i have this week and it’s too late to have it made just for me so it has to be something good.” he told her, to reason why they were walking in the first place.

Grayson had been here for a while and he felt like he still didn’t know a lot of people. Or maybe he hadn’t really tried to get to know anyone. But the few people he did know he got along with pretty well, Naomi being one of them even if he hadn’t talked to her much since the day they had met so he was happy when she had come up to him. “Hey there, lifesaver.” He laughed as the brunette came up to him. “Pretty good, how are you doing?”

“Oh, yeah I did tell you to call me that didn’t I?” She recalled with a grin, taking a seat across from him. “Same, same. Pretty decent. Kind of trying to mentally prepare myself for the end of the season. I feel like I’ve gotten so used to spending my days with barely any responsibilities and I know that the second I get home, there’s gonna be work to do.”

The look on Eric’s face gave away that he kind of did forget, but not intentionally. “Ah shoot, my bad.” He shrugged, greeting his teeth a little as they made their way into the beach - he didn’t remember what they said they’d do but this seemed like a nice change of plans in case they already had thought of something. Eric didn’t even understand why she wanted to spend time with him when she clearly didn’t have the best positive feelings towards him. “Well when i changed my major to Arts at Yale they used to steal the concept of my ideas, yeah. It was kind of annoying.” He said, recalling it with a cringe expression on his face. “I like to think that everyone is a bit of an artist inside.” He shrugged, letting his eyes rest on her for a moment.

Naomi was used to the second class treatment coming from him, so the confirmation that he definitely did forget about her didn’t come as a shock or anything. It took an exceptional amount of effort for her to not make some type of snide comment about the fact that now he was admitting to her that he’d changed his major from business, even though he’d been bragging to her about the fact that he’d studied it only days ago. She was really doing her best to try and remain civil this time, but the temptation to argue was a little hard to fend off. “Yeah, well everyone except for me. I can’t draw to save my life. Even my stick figure are indistinguishable.”

“believe me, if i could live out here on the beach i would.” kasey let a small chuckle out after she spoke, mostly because the girl across from her seemed to have a sense of humor. “with my dad’s work schedule, it was really hard for us to vacation so that’s why we never got to go to the beach before. we’re from pittsburgh so it’s not like thee was one readily available for us either.”

After sending one last smile in the other girl’s direction, Naomi focused her gaze back out onto the water and the calming crash of the waves against the shore. “Ah, okay. Well, cheers to no longer being landlocked,” she joked. “I’m Naomi, by the way. I don’t think we’ve actually gotten the chance to meet yet.”

hanging out with naomi again wasn’t as weird as he thought it would be. acting normal around naomi again also wasn’t as weird as he thought it would be. it almost felt as if he’d been doing this since he met her, and that nothing negative happened between them. and he liked it. he liked getting along with her and getting to spend time with the incredible girl. he was highly grateful for having her back in his life, in all honesty. his head immediately snapped towards her upon her arrival before he smiled widely. “hey, lil’ darling,” nick faked a thick accent before standing to his feet. her suggestion made his eyes light up in seconds. “uh…yeah, of course,” he laughed, and clapped his hands together a single time. “i thought you’d never ask. i look forward to introducing you to the wizardry world,”

Scrunching up her face at the accent that he initially tried to use, Naomi couldn’t help the series of giggles that escaped her lips as a result of it. She had no idea what his intentions were with that, but she was honestly just happy they’d managed to not make things weird between the two of them. “Oh, yeah? Just like that?” Naomi pressed, unsure at first of whether he’d truly thought it through. “For some reason I pictured myself having to do some convincing. I did the math and the time it’d take to watch every single movie is like 20 hours total. I think even I’d get tired of spending time with myself after that long.”

The last time they’d intended to hang out, Naomi ended up having to cut things shorts, so this time she made sure that absolutely nothing could possibly come up. After asking around a bit and managing to figure out which house was Lila’s, she made her way over to Seascape, finding the redhead fairly easily from that point. “So I probably should’ve asked first before walking all the way over here, but are you down for attempting to find something fun to do on this island now?

With so many of them on the island, it wasn’t particularly surprising whenever she ran into someone that she genuinely didn’t mind seeing. Ever since that day on the beach, Naomi had been kind of waiting for the moment that she could talk to Grayson again - the last time had been kind of fun. “Gray, hey!” She greeted, walking over to where she spotted him. “How’s my favorite ally doing?”

Whenever Naomi was around Sebastian, she found herself putting extra thought into everything that she said. With him it was like everything was being scrutinized, and even if she didn’t show it, she genuinely did care what he thought of her. Out of a simple curiosity as to just how his mind worked, she decided to bring up something that she remembered discussing in her into to philosophy course back in college. “Hey, Sebastian,” she called, her gaze focused on him as she prepared to study his features for the slightest reactions to her next question. “If there was a runaway train going down a track and there were five people tied to that track, would you pull a lever to redirect that train towards another track where there’s only one person tied down? Or would you just not do anything?”

Ever since Naomi had announced in front of the cameras that she’d never actually seen any of the Harry Potter movies, her notifications had been blowing up with people asking her why. The answer she had for them wasn’t a very good one since really it only went as far as she never took the time. Eight movies was a lot and there was so much else she could’ve been doing with that time. Still, on the island, she had more free time than she’d ever been presented with in her entire life so it just seemed like the perfect opportunity. Plus, spending that time with Nick wouldn’t hurt. She wasn’t even entirely sure whether that offer was still good, but rather than wasting even more time obsessing over that, she instead went looking for him. “Hey!” She flashed him a quick smile before launching into her real reasons for being there. “So is watching Harry Potter still a thing that you’d want to do with me?”

Sometimes the food options in her own house didn’t particular appeal to her. On those occasions, Naomi found herself sneaking over to the others to see if there was anything better that she was just missing out on. But once she spotted Michelle, she decided to give her space and instead took a seat at the counter. “What? No, totally take your time. I’m actually just here to steal food,” she told the girl with a grin. “I have this theory that my house has the worst options, so I like to check the other fridges from time to time.”

Michelle felt awful. She’d gotten so caught up in her new routines that she’d pretty much isolated herself for a week straight. She hadn’t even seen Cliff or texted Lani about her ideas. She’d finally realized that she’d been in isolation for a week wen she also realized she had yet to eat in three days and her body was screaming at her to stop. So there she was, digging through the fridge in her house and nearly all the way in the thing looking for something filling, when she heard someone come in the kitchen. “Don’t mind me!” She called, not yet bothering to see who it was. “Just give me a minute and I’ll be out of your way.”

“Wow, you are literally me. I am you. I’ve declared this beach my new home and it’s nice to know that I’m not in it alone,” Naomi commented with a chuckle, flashing a smile in the direction of the other girl as she spread out her own towel to take a seat. “Except I guess I did have a couple of summers at the beach before this. But still, living here full time is pretty much the most amazing thing that I’ve ever experienced and New York is just gonna have to go without me.”

“i’ve never really been to the ocean until now.” growing up in the city, kasey never had the opportunity to go to the beach as much as she wanted. but now that she’s here on the island she was loving every second of it. she sat on the beach, sprawled out on a towel and discarding the denim shorts she had on to reveal the rest of her orange bikini. “i just might never go back to the house if it means i can lay right here.”

Throwing on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, Naomi’s mind was more focused on comfort than appearance as she headed over to Sand Laurels. The texts between herself and Cliff had been pretty light in nature, yet still the invite felt like a real one. Letting herself into the house, she managed to locate his room without much of an issue. Knocking three times, she waited only a second before pushing the door open.“Hey, hey!” She called out, further announcing her presence. “I brought alcohol in the form of things I stole from the bar. Wasn’t sure if we should go light or dark, so I have both.”
