Becoming A New Bre
This segment of class has been very eye opening. I’ve learned so much about myself and this land of chakras. Herbs &Arts was incredible, the women there were amazing. They were able to read me, problems and my energy like a best-selling novel. It was emotional and inspired me to change. I'm now evolving into what I believe is a new form of Breana. I've been meditating and been focusing on what goes on inside my head. Since I've started this journey, I've noticed a change in me and people around me have started to see it as well. I've lost and gain friends, I gotten complimented on my energy and my aura. I like who I'm turning into. I'm thankful for learning about this world and magick. Its really amazing and helpful.

Rose Quartz:A soft feminine energy of compassion and peace, tenderness and healing, nourishment and comfort.
“Quartz crystals were valued by the ancient Egyptians as talismans with powers to prevent aging”. - Bob Kammerling
This pink stone does “wonders” for those who believe in its power. Its power dates as far back as 7000 B.C .Romans, Egyptians. and Greeks used this stone for many different reason then what its used for today. In the Middle Ages, rose quartz was deemed medical used for healing and balancing emotions. While in modern day use its used for love. It is also used for helping with anxiety and sleep (the reason why I love it). Rose Quartz is a heart healer which is why people only use it for love but it can be used for so much more. It can soothe skin, can clear your mind, and open the heart, and overall just mellow out your life. Also that color is just beautiful smooth or ruff this crystal is absolutely gorgeous. I would use and do use this stone to help my heart when I'm feeling overwhelmed , sad, stressed, or anything dealing with my heart and mind.

Anxiety Sucks
My biggest problem is my anxiety. I thought i would find things that help soothe the pressure of anxiety. The herb i found that was Lemon Balm. “Prescribed as a medicinal herb since ancient Greek times, lemon balm has long been known to relieve anxiety, promote sleep, and sooth agitation.”- Johnson, Tiesha D. “Quick Relief from Anxiety and Stress Without Tranquilizer Drugs.” LifeExtension.com, Aug. 2007, www.lifeextension.com/Magazine/2007/8/report_stress_anxiety/Page-01.
It has a strong scent of lemon and mint. i feel Adler’s definition of ritual can describe lemon balm by the “ability to enter the altered states of consciousness”. I believe the scent can pierce its way through the brain and cause a sense of calmness and euphoria. Which can help soothe and relax a person. it can help through meditation and put you in you head in a good way. “Reawaken imaginative faculties, to increase concentration, attention, and self-confidence.” Lemon balm may even open your third eye.
I also I have in obsession with Roses. In addition to being one of the most beautiful flowers it has a many benefits. Roses can uses for skincare, anti inflammatory and so much more. That pink color its so calm and gorgeous and it makes you feel the same way. Rose color and scented candles help with anxiety I want to know more about what magick properties behind roses.
I wanted to add this candle I found called Hot Sugar Love. Its an Herbal Alchemy Magick Candle. It made with Sugar, Amber, Lavender, Rose. (cannot post the picture)

New Orleans, Lafcadio Hearn once wrote, a place that “actually resembles no other city on the face of the Earth, yet it recalls vague memories of a hundred cities”
The city of New Orleans has a history. This city named One Of The Most Haunted Cities, just like the quote above says its made to symbolize French styling architecture.it has found a way to somehow make it uniquely different and creepy. New Orleans creepy history dates far back far as 1755. The “Wet Grave“ tells different tales on this cities haunted history. Most “hauntings” are sweet and small like Père dagobert who is sings in the rain, Vera smith who haunts a small restaurant by walking around it. The others are dark and sinister like the history of Madame Delphine Lalaurie.
“Madame Lalaurie, under her soft and beautiful exterior possessed a demon soul”
House of Hell
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZQFrB_cJvE&t=220s
Throughout this whole segment we’ve discussed the fact if the stories. The story behind Madame Delphine Lalaurie, and Vera Smith all seem to be true, with no alterations. Madame’s evil is all history. Her abuse and torment over her slaves caused many angry, sad souls to remain where they died. Vera Smith death during Hurricane Katrina caused the city to come together and overcome.
Oddly enough they all find a way to connect to each other. They all except for Vera are buried at Saint Louis Cemetery. A famous haunted cemetery in New Orleans

Passing Through
Hollywood is a sad place. Its full of hopeful spirits trying to make their dreams come true. Those who don't make become depressed, resentful, and sad. Sad and angry even to kill or commit suicide. The stories of murders and suicide are all over Hollywood especially the Hollywood sign. Sunset Blvd. which is just the saddest and causes feeling of dread. The Black Dahlia is another interesting tale. She was murder and her murderer was never found. She's now haunting a hotel. Why wouldn't someone haunt somewhere they were once happy. She isn't the first celebrity to haunt a hotel room. The stories of old dead celebrities haunting places is a marketing scheme.

“All of these stories in on way or another respond to history”
"Shifting Ground" is a passage about a slave named Chloe (who man or may not existed). She worked on a planation and was the slave master mistress. She fell out of his favor when she was ease dropping in one if his conversations. He cut off her ear and she wore a green scarf to cover it. She tired to gain his love back but making him need her to care for his family. she "poisoned" them. They died. She was killed and denied a proper burial. It was later discovered they died from yellow fever. She's been seen haunting this planation. Then there's a story about another ghostly girl from an Indian tribe whose buried under the plantation. There are many explanations debunking these ghostly theory.
My dad as told me history was His Story meaning. people are always going to change it
What I've been thinking this story cant be true. Mainly because it is just that a story. There's no real evidence to back up this. It been passed around and changed.

“Ghost stories are as old as human civilization appearing in the earliest written epics and throughout the ancient world.”
“Anatomy of a Haunting” is about old house , The Merchant's house, that was turned in to a museum. According to this story, after a cousin got the house in an inheritance and turned it into a museum it become haunted soon after. The house is described as "a prime example of a grand old American haunted house". The house is haunted by many ghosts but the important ones are Gertrude Tredwell and her "black sheep" brother Samuel. Gertrude was forced to live alone because her father disapproved of her suitor. she never found another man and died alone and angry. She is soon the most, yelling at children and parents. Her brother was disowned by the family because he wasn't as successful and he is angry because he didn't receive the inheritance that he felt was he’s. The Father’s effect on the family has trapped them in his house for all of eternity angry at his action and how they were forced to live.

“SpongeBob ultimately tells boys that it's okay to be a boy rather than a man, that manhood is exploitative and competitive.”
Growing up, this movie was my whole life. I loved SpongeBob with a passion, this movie just made it better for me. I can actually quote and sing the whole movie. But back to the topic at hand, i agree with this because that's something the show has always pushed. SpongeBob's masculinity has always been in question , yet in the end he continues to act like this little boy in a huge man's world. SpongeBob is surrounded by these "men" who i feel are the male examples. Squidward= angry/grumpy guy. Mr.Krabs = money hungry/possessive guy. Larry= muscle head/ not to smart guy. The list goes on and on. SpongeBob challenges this by being a complete oddball, child acting out of the norm. In a way he was more of a man than any of the men in his life.

“I wish i could write a book about triumphant weight loss and how i learned how to live more effectively with my demons”.
In "Hunger", Roxane Guy talks about her past being overweight and the struggles of being in her body. This except from her book really hit close to home for me. In my previous post i talked about how i struggle with my weight. My story goes deeper than that like Roxane's. My weight and the years of social abuse has rendered me depressive, anxiety filled, and slightly insane. my abuse came from students, teachers, strangers, and doctors. My doctors always told me i was too fat whether it was said medical termed or just flat out said to my face.(as cruelly as possible) Yet I never had anything wrong with me. I was sick every now and again but it never was from my weight. The term "obese" was always thrown at me just like Roxane , be cause of that i hate that word so much. Roxane breaks down the word obese saying "Obese is an unpleasant word from the Latin word obesus, meaning "having eaten until fat" which is, in a literal sense"(12) This word hurts more than being just being called fat. At least to me it does. She just talks about how i basically having been feeling my whole life. My demons still dwell in me. I dream one day ill have a self- exorcism and finally will be able to be confident with my weight.

"I don't see my whole body as fat. when I look in the mirror I don't really see a fat person there." -Karen (Dying To Be Thin)
I relate to this quote because I was always been called fat. I've always been a bigger girl. I got bullied for it all through school for my size. At home with my family I was just "thick" or as my mama would say " bountiful blessed ". I was so confused about my weight. I was healthy, I just loved eating. I never really thought was fat until I got in the fourth grade. Everyday I had to hear students, teachers, and even doctors tell me I'm fat. I eventually started to finally see and feel what they were saying about me. I tried diets, medicines, stealing diet pills and bulimia nothing helped me. It took me years to finally be okay with myself. I had to learn its all about how I see myself. I'm still not fully in love with myself but like myself way more then I used too.

“A language which they can connect their identity to, one capable of communicating the realities and values true to themselves”- Gloria Anzaldua
Gloria Anzaldua, author of, “How to Tame a Wild Tongue” , talks about being forced to not use her native tongue. Which is something I can hugely relate to. Growing up in the south as a woman of color, we are taught to talk in two different tongues. We speak heavy accented Ebonics. We talk like this to fit in with those like us . If you don't you’re are judged by our peers. We are already judged by others for talking the way we talk. As we grow up, our parents, teachers, and society tells us that the only way to be accepted in the world is to "sound white". Which is the term for it back home. That means to talk as clearly and as properly as possible. Some schools back home have classes on talking like this to "get rid of our accents". It used to make me question my identity. I got penalized for my "country talk" then for my "white talk". It took so much for me to be comfortable just talking out of fear for more judgement.
