Day 20: Club lol

Dear diary. Pango will be moving tomorrow. She had just finished packing by the time I got to her. Even with her mind made up, I could tell she had second thoughts over this matter. I assured her again that she should go if she isn't satisfied with her life. She should feel free to go and explore the world. 

The live venue finally opened today. It looked gorgeous now that everything was all cleaned up. Mr shrunk spend a ton of bells getting this place together. He told me himself that he would love to perform on a stage like this. 

Apparently he use to be a comedian. He became one after his doctor career felt unfulfilling. His jokes were about the emotional highs and lows of his own life. He retired but he did have a wish to perform at his "perfect stage". I wanted to see what kind of jokes he has so we came to an agreement.

He would tell one of these jokes in exchange for a snack. None of my apples or coconuts had grown back yet. I did have a mushroom that he had no objection on eating. He put on a silly looking jacket and told me a joke about when he proposed to his wife.

It was a very interesting show. I could relate to his feeling of shyness when he talked about his wife. The way he expressed it helped to show how to express it fully to others myself. He gave me a joke book to help remember his bits. If I give him more food then he will fill up my book with more jokes.

I found the perfect dress for me while shopping today. Mable called it a Princess dress. It looked even better then the dresses back home in the city. With my hair pinded up the right way and the right shoes it makes me feel like a princess. The way a princess should be. If i didn't have more work to do I would have worn it all day.

I got bored of waiting for the animals to finish that bridge. I did some island bug hunting and payed off the rest of it by myself. I can wear my new dress to the ceremony tomorrow. As long as it doesn't rain again. 

Now it's night time. The first showing of DJ K,K in our forest. I was the first one to go see his show and dance to his music. My legs are still weak from all the jumping around I did. If I continue to do this then my legs will turn into ells.

Day 19: Animal friends.

Dear diary. Purrl came over to visit today. I made my home as presentable as possible for her. I didn't have many things in my main room yet. Ever since the expansion too a 2nd floor my home has felt rather empty. Purrl didn't mind in the slightest. 

With no new events and no bad weather. I continued to talk to Purrl about various interests. We talked about music and she went on about the different kinds of music she enjoys. Her and Bettina apparently like to sing and dance to their favorite music. For a Cat and a Mouse, those two get along very well. 

While doing some yard work. Drake talked to me about a time capsule. He gave me a box and told me to bury it somewhere he would remember. He apparently has lots of memories of his. It look some will power to not even peek in it. I put it right in front of Pangos house. I figured he can remember his friends home.

I rearranged my stone tablet area as well. This could get me a better chance of more rare colored flowers. Someday this tablet will be completely covered with flowers of all different colors. I would do more work but it started to rain yet again. 

These days have been rather slow lately. It must be the heat making me want to stay home with my violin or my books. Probably the best way to spend a slow day.

Day 18: Time Is Money.

Dear Diary. I bought myself a timer at the nooklings store today. It could be fun with Button or Isabel when they have the time to come over. I wanted to test it out by seeing how many fish i could catch in 15 minutes. It was a good way to make some bells on the side. After five minutes I underperformed a bit. Despite catching one fish every minute, I had trouble finding all the fish I wanted. 

More fish appeared the more i went on.  I haven't noticed much of a difference between this new silver rod and the old one that isabelle gave me on my first day. I'm sure it is actually much butter, I have simply not seen it's full potential. 

 As the clock ticked down. I found one fish ahead of me. I cast my line while the clock was quickly ticking away. Ib missed my catch by mere seconds. My final score said it was 27. 28 if you count the fish i count too late. I do count that by the way. 

The money I got was very nice too. I used it to pay off part of my loan. The turnip prices were pretty high too. I got a 60 bell profit per turnip. A very profitable day indeed. More than typical at least.

My villagers aren't making enough progress working on the bridge by themselves. I'm startin to think it's time to pay for it all myself. If there is another project I want to do then I will pay it off all by myself.

Day 17: Drakes Birthday

Dear diary, Drake had a birthday today. it was a small party but he wouldn't be discouraged. it was his day and he would live it up. I actually forgot to get his gift earlier. I had to rush to the able sisters to buy him a space suit. He put it on right away. happily singing along the table.

I was happy to see Pango spending some quality time with Drake. She had mentioned her plans to move away soon. It was very nice of her to spend a good day with Drake before leaving. I left drake and pango to party all day. There was more work to be done. 

I had a ton of things come in today for the education center. they are still far from complete. I'm keeping my eye out in the shops all over for more stuff. I also need more bells to continue to order these things. It may be time for me to look into other towns.

They were selling a special fishing rod over at the museum. A silver rod that shined like a gemstone. I have yet to see any improvement over my old fishing rod but it surely must be an improvement. I think button has a silver rod. I should ask him when he is free. 

Just north was a human looking settlement. It was empty space for the longest time but now an actual human was living  there. He was a wealthy looking man named Reggie. His home had more things i can order for the science lab. His face looked pretty odd actually. I think he had makeup on. A lot of make up.

Genji thought it was time for a new nickname. He is going to start calling me "Mega C" Agian, I don't understand this nickname. Is it because my name starts with the letter C? what's so special about that? Coltons name also starts with C. I'm just not a nickname person.

Day 16: Nice and slow

Dear Diary. Not many exciting things happened today. I was upset about this at first but i realised that there is nothing wrong with having days of quiet and calm. It didn't start off so calm though as the museum expanded today to a top floor. As I had talked with Blathers, My plan for the top museum floor is meant to be a place of learning and study. I don't have a materials for them yet but when the time comes then I will have A school, A library, a medical/science lab and a miniature hospital room for sick villagers. Only a matter of time now. 

Right after renting out some of the rooms, I got to thinking about adding another bridge at the river. I do want to make it as convenient as possible to move around the village but my money has been dumped dry. I am leaving this project to the animals and too whoever may visit. In the meantime i can save my bells for more important projects. 

The rain was no harder then it would normally be but I kept tripping when I tried running. I normally try not to run but when you are looking through the trees then you will come across creatures that you must run from. Namely, bees. Every time I came across one, I tripped and got stung, without fail. The nooklings were smart to start selling medicine when they did. Thats for sure.

In Between my planning for the museum exhibits and ending my day. I went for a walk and found our campsite being used. Inside was a mouse from new hell named bella. She didn't say this to me but it wouldn't be surprising if she came to visit Rory and Colton. I was not interested in having another new hell resident or another mouse decide to move in so I left her to her time in her tent.

Like I said before. Today was nice and slow. Nothing worth making a big fuss over. I can use this time to drink some tea and watch the rain outside my window.

Day 15: Long Work

Dear Diary. I woke up in the early morning to buy turnips from miss Joan today. With all the pubic works projects and mortgages digging into my funds I needed some other way to make bells. They looked pretty cheep today. I fear my inexperience with the stalk market may come back at me for spending too much money on these turnips. I can't complain now. I really need those bells right away. 

Over at the museum. Blathers wake actually awake in the morning. He was very deep in thought about the state of the museum. Not the exhibits but the amount of people visiting. I talked to him about turning the museum into a center of education for all the forest. He was happy with the idea but he lacked the funds. I promised to pay for the whole thing. A much bigger undertaking than I was expecting.

I went to work all day to get this renovation paid off. Everything from shaking trees, selling seashells, doing favors for animals. Along with the fishing and bug catching that come from this town. I ended up going to see Button and Isabel to trade our town fruits. Even after that I was only half way though.

By this point I was exhausted. Button took me too the tree in the town center and showed me how big it gotten. Sitting under it was the best way to relax. No one would believe me when i told them but I could hear the tree. She told me everything she knew about new hell. Some things did sound off about what the tree was saying. She said her memory was fuzzy after Buttons family friend came and altered things to make the town progress faster. She wanted to thank this stranger. For he helped her grow. I must say. In the heat, her shade is most helpful.

The relaxing couldn't last forever. while I was with button I had to get back to work. While fishing I found that same seagull again. This time, Gulliver was having trouble waking up. Both me and button were working to get him out of his sleep. I went back home to buy medicine but Button said he woke up once I left. He was a truly stubborn little bird. Kapp'n should hire him to sail his boat. Then again if gulliver did then the boat would crash. 

Well I did enough fishing for one day and planed to end my day there. But I had gotten word that Isabel was visiting the forest to talk to Colton. I grabbed my hood to watch her talking with him. She was blushing quite a bit. at least i think she was. There were times where i didn't have the best angle to see it from. She was, Without a doubt, more emotional then she had ever been before. She must have been angry at him. Or happy? I've never been good at these things. 

She left just a few minutes ago. Leaving me time to finish decorating my new upper level of my home. Walls and floors could still use work, along with the size. But it is much more private than before. I can sleep peacefully without fear of anyone walking in. Not that thats a common issue or anything.

Day 14: Dream on

Dear Diary. As soon as i walk out of my house to check the weather, I was greeted by a very odd looking creature. He wanted to open a live venue on our main street. I would have told him to talk to Isabel about it but he claimed that he already had. She was worried about the noise that a dance club would create so I was tasked with asking the villagers. Every animal I asked about this seemed to be okay with the idea and signed without any debate or discussion. I wonder what Isabelle was worried about.

I gave the signatures back to the. well i'm not quite sure what animal he is. Perhaps a type of fish, anyway. I gave him the signatures and he showed me where it was going to be built. right in between nooks homes and the dream suite. He did say it would take several days to complete. I would be willing to make this a public project but he did not offer that possibility. We do have more important things planned.

All that sunlight last night left me sleep deprived this morning. I went inside the dream suite to try and relax my mind for a few hours. The Taper inside got me some warm pajamas and took me to a fluffy little bed. She must have some magic in her because i was able to go to sleep just with the sound of her voice. She took me to the random dream of a young man named Mix.

She said the town was called Onett. It looked like any other town I had seen before but everything was slightly off. Voices ha an echo to them. All the shops were "Closed forever". the train was stuck in the station and there was no breeze whatsoever. I did eventually find the mayor. He had on a very strange suit and helmet. I'm fussy on the details but i remember his suit looking like it wasn't from this earth.

While exploring this world I saw someone very peculiar. It was Vladimir! His shirt was different but his voice and mannerisms were the same. He was also aware that this was a dream. He didn't remember me when i said who I was. Being in the dream, it was hard to articulate what I was outside the dream world. While i slept I had not thought about this but now I wonder. Dreams can give a message of the future after all. 

I wanted to know just how similar this dream was to reality. I looked in the trees to find anything out of the ordinary. Nothing was strange about these trees. They even had bees, They stung me but I could not feel them. The bump I got on my face was completely gone when I woke up. 

I wanted to wake up after the bees attacked. I went to the town center and saw the tapir with the same bed as in her stop. I was told to lay back town on the bed while she calmly and carefully woke me up. I can't say that dream was entirely refreshing. Having thought more about it, I wonder what message it could possibly have. The Tapir said i should come more so i can feel more refreshed throughout the day. If the dreams are more relaxed then this was then i will.  

With the rain pouring down. I grabbed my fishing pole to find all kinds of rare fish. Walking along the beach, I found that seagull again. The storms must have toppled over his boat. He told me that he was going to a place called Singapore. He really must learn to not travel in this awful weather. He's going to get himself killed.

With that, I started my fishing quest. I opened my ticket gate to allow visitors to stop by while I was fishing. Isabel from New Hell came over and tried to earn some money and find furniture for her home. After catching sea bass after sea bass after sea bass I finally caught myself a Coelacanth! I would have went to catch more but I fished up enough sea bass for one day.

Day 13. Start of Summer

Dear Diary.  As I write this the hour is nearly midnight and the sun is still in the sky. For today is the Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year. At first the celebration, while light on activity, was enjoyable. But later in the night it has become rather hard to lay my head. A recent building that was added too our main street might help. A taper run building called a "Dream Suite" I took a short nap there a little while ago. It was so relaxing. A perfect place to hide from the cruel sun.

For the actual celebration. I invited little Button over. He was able to grab some of my perfect fruits while spending the day enjoying the  sun. He really like taking the photos together. We must have done a ton of different face combinations till he was satisfied. I won't complain however. A day with friends is worth it. 

He did find the pitfall ment for one of the animals. Oddly enough he claimed to like pitfalls. Don't know what about them he could possibly like. Perhaps the surprise excited him. 

As i mentioned earlier. Having sunlight all day grew exhausting. The day never truly felt like it was done since the sun never set. I was in no rush to make any bells so fishing of bug catching became moot. the only thing the animals wanted to talk about was the sun. and button said he had to go do school work. I assumed the day would be ruined until I got the idea to travel.

Her name was Isabel. She detested the sunlight. Her town did not have this day of light. Even so she had an umbrella with her at all times. She offered me to come shopping in her town and enjoy the darkness. Up in the sky of her forest was something glowing in the distance. She said they were wishing stars. I went to find the perfect place to watch for them. I lost count how many of these stars fell from the sky. I made a wish that Richlend forest will one day be the perfect place for animals to live without fear and worry.

Day 12: Art

Dear Diary, Redd was back in town and selling more art. Knowing about his shady tactics had me worried. I figured at least one of them have to be legitimate. I did my best guess and picked a painting in the corner. It looked the most familiar to me but i was still unsure. More so then the first time I shopped at Redds.

Button wanted to come over and shop at Redds as well. He told me that he used to visit art museums all the time. He didn't find any authentic ones. He said i had the only real one he was selling. I must have a better eye for art then I thought. Button couldn't stay for too long so he left after watering several flowers and meditating at the tablet with me. He did promise that he will allow me to visit again soon.

I still had a dream suite to pay for. My best option was the island. I used my club tortimer membership and went to a new island where i met a young man named Victor from Victoria. He was a quiet man that wanted someone to go on some of the tours with him, I was happy to go and earn more medals and play some games. He caught bugs, went deep sea diving and used our toy hammers. we went on for a good long while till it was time I actually sold the bugs and fish from the island. 

I made enough bells to fully pay off this new project. By tomorrow my main street will be bursting with the new nooklings shop. the store being built next to the able sisters and the dream suite. This is the advancement this town needed.  

with no more bells to earn and no more goal to complete i spend some time with the animals. just talking to them. seeing what's on their mind. I found Flo spending time with Rory in his home. Rory had heard from Genji that I was musically talented. I disagree as a good humble leader would but he had an instrument for me to play. They loved it. 

Flo told me she had a painting she wanted to see me. It was overpriced but it was a painting. I couldn't resist. Getting two of them in the same day sounds unheard of. I ran to the museum to donate it right away. Blathers gave me some unfortunate news. The painting was a fake! He would not have it in his museum. I tried to put it for sale but even re-tail would not take it. 

Well I have no choice now. Until this town finds a way to dispose of its waste without going through Re-tail. Until then I have some art to display in my home. For a fake, it doesn't look too bad.

Day 11: Activity In Mainstreet.

Dear Diary. I found a book laying out in the middle of the rain today. I must have talked to about everyone who was awake to find out whose book it was. The animal wasn't awake so i had to hold onto the book while I went shopping. As my usual rounds were I went too the nooklings shop first. Little Tommy said that the store would undergo some remodeling. They were holding a sale to get rid of their stock before the big remodel. It was a good time to get some cheap stationery.  The store will be closed tomorrow but it will be for a very good reason. I'm sure their uncle Tom will be helping immensely with the building process. 

Over at the Able sisters. They had a large sewing machine in the store. It was a gift meant for Sable but the poor thing couldn't figure it out. I'm no better at the technology so I'm afraid I will be using this new feature very sparingly. As long a the other animals see a reason to use it then it should stay!

There was also more construction next to the Able sisters building. Once again the sign was blocked off from my view. I only have educated guesses to go on what it is based on the other main streets i've seen. If my assumption is correct then I will say I am immensely excited for this new building. I just wish they would tell their mayor when these were being built.

I hadn't checked in the fossil section of the museum in quite awhile. I spend too much time watching the fish to even think about the fossils in the front room. Well I went to check it today and noticed some exhibits were complete. I hadn't the slightest clue. Reading about the creatures was more interesting then i would expect. I wonder if the other animals would come to museum to learn more then just fossils, bugs, fish and art.

Well I spent enough time in the museum to allow some more of the animals to wake up. The book was Vladimirs He doesn't look like the bookish type and he did not seem bothered by the water damage My guess is that the contents of the book are not what's important  It must have some sentimental value to it. I should have gotten a look when I had the chance. 

With it raining yet again I was fishing around. Still no sign of Purrl since the previous day. Fishing helped me feel better about missing that. Not only did i catch some fish but I managed to find two rare tools. A silver and a golden slingshot! In one day! This is just a beginning. I want to have a collection of these tools for when I am more mature. If they are like these new slingshots, they will also be more helpful. 

It took many hours but I finally saw Purrl by her home. She acted like nothing had happened between us. Not even mentioning it when we started to talk. Such a relief to know i didn't ruin her trust with me. we even traded some furniture before i had to return home. I've certainly learned my lesson about these promises. I'll have to keep much better track about these things. Don't want o do this all over again.

Day 10: Highs and lows

Dear diary. Pete was doing his rounds on his way to work. He had to deliver all the letters i wrote while i was stuck inside from the rain yesterday. He complained that his load was too heavy but insisted that he loved his job. I told him I expected those letters to be all delivered by sundown and had a light chuckle with him before visiting Isabelle. The poor girl was sleeping at her station! When she woke up she promised it wouldn't happen again. It did remind her of a building that had been requested to put in mainstreet. Something to do with dreams. I don't fully understand it but our main street is lacking. Once our current project is done we can start right away.

We also had yet another new animal. New too town but not new to me. He was the Lion from new hell. He was so excited to live in the same town as me. I would hope that my town doesn't disappoint when compared to the much more bustling new hell area. We are still a very small community after all. He wasn't bothered by this fact at all, He might make a better fit than I thought. 

Since there was no public projects to be done today, I found it was the perfect day for some landscaping. Of course while I work it started to rain yet again. Talking with the other animals did help the workload not feel as daunting. Purrl even offered for me to visit her home once my work was done.

When I was stung by a bee, The new penguin gave me some medicine to fix my face when the work was done. For someone who barely knew me yet to be so generous. The animals in this town never cease to amaze me with their kindness.

My poor feet were so wrinkly and sore when I was done. I had expressed interest in getting some kind of covering for my feat with all this rain. To which Button send me a message. He had yellow rain boots in one of his shops for me to take. In exchange I gave him all the apples in my town and some furniture. He said it was too much but these boots were perfect. I tripped a bit while running around in them for the first time but I did get used to them by the time i went home. 

A villager in buttons town said that the rain would be a good opportunity to go fishing. She didn't offer much of a reason but it worked wonders for a friend of her sisters co worker. That must mean it's true. It was raining even more when I got home. I even heard thunder and saw lightning flashes. I took the deers advice and went fishing while it was storming like this. It was very so very difficult to see the fish. The only thing I had going for me was the silhouette being very noticeable. In once case I even noticed the fin of a shark. I made enough bells this way to fully pay off the fountain being built on the west side of the forest.

By the time i was done fishing. It was around 6pm. I missed my chance to see purrl. As soon as I looked at the time and remembered my promise I ran all over the forest more than i ever have before. She wasn't home and she wasn't anywhere in the forest. It's far too late in the evening for me to see her now.

I'll have to apologize to her in the morning. Maybe reschedule if she isn't too mad at me for breaking a promise.

Day 9: Working in the rain.

Dear Diary. I had quite a bit of work today. I went and had a discussion with isabelle. I told her that I was getting irritated with the lack of development in the town. Even though it has only been a week, it seemed like so long that anything truly fantastic was added to the town. She assured me that all the advancements will come as I work and become more experienced. She also assured me that the villagers think the town is doing very well for itself. The only complaint was the lack of plantation in certain areas. Which i already intend to fix with the help of the garden shop. 

That was enough of my antsy behavior. I was reminded about the stone tablet over by the flower fields. Isabelle called the citizens and went over to the event. I saw an orange tulip during the ceremony. Having all those flowers in one place created something strange yet wonderful. I gave my usual short speech and used the confetti popper before arranging the flowers in such a way that more strange tulips may come out. 

  While on my way to my next job as mayor I met that camel with the accent yet again. She wanted to redecorate my house yet again. Even after spending a whole day getting sand out of my home from the last time, I gave her another chance. Just to see what her plan was. I wanted to have more money than I did when she first did her "redecorating" when I first agreed but the shaking of trees got me plenty. In the expense of a visit from the local bees. Harsh creatures they are. 

She did do a better job this time but her sense of style just... Confuses me. In what nation would a lap flooring go well with a dessert looking backdrop? She was already paid and refused to give me any form of refund. Unless selling the mismatched carpet and wallpaper at Re-tail counted as the refund. 

With that distraction out of the way, I had to complete my other duty of the day which is starting to happen very frequently. Greeting a new animal into town. Her name is Flo and she comes from a land very cold. I have experienced cold before but what she told me was much worse. This warm weather of the forest might be a shock to her over the next few months. 

It had started to rain right before I got to flow but it got much worse when she and I were done talking. Another day where all the bugs go into hiding. I took this opportunity to do very menial things around town. Pay off the loan, deposit money into the bank, Organize my mail, It was really nothing special. I did try to go fishing but the rain would make it hard to see where the fish were. There was one place where I could see the waters as clear as the sky. 

The boat ride to the tortimer islands was a little bumpy at first but it was worth it to see the clear skies and waters. I was able to catch the fish to pay for more public works projects and for a larger home someday. visiting the island on a rainy day shall become a new tradition for me. The sun will be far too tempting for me NOT to use whenever I can.

I came back to the rain after filling up my drop off box with all kinds of things to sell. It was while i was gathering my belongings when i noticed the animals started to call me by a nickname. the name they have dubbed me is "Bucko" It makes no sense to me. It also sounds rather masculine. Perhaps they think I rule as a man does? Well a buck could mean a male deer, the highest authority in my homeland. But to make such a sacred animal so casual. Then again they are also animals so  perhaps they don't hold another animal in such a way. I'll need to ask isabelle about this tomorrow. 

With nothing else to do in the rain I went to Re-tail to see what Reeses husband did. He recolored my furniture into something that looked almost brand new. I must have taken all my furniture there to be a matching color. I used my newly colored furniture as an excuse to redecorate. It take a long time to paint all that furniture but it's starting to look like it will be worth it. I just need more of the furniture of the Regal variety.

Day 8: Two Cats.

Dear Diary. When I woke up this morning there was a tiny kitten exploring around my home. I walked up to her thinking she was a tiny lost little kitten. She told me she loved exploring other towns. She neerly begged for me to take her too a new town as she was done exploring this one. When her was told I had work she looked so heartbroken. I made sure to make note of her for when my work was done.

It was still far too early to celebrate the new public works project so i started my daily shopping route at Re-tail. Reeses husband decided to finally wake up this morning. His job was to fix old items and to give them a new and improved look. I already had several projects for him to do and i'm going to have several more. The way Reese looked at her husband was something to behold though. He had been sleeping for a whole week and she did not feel any resentment. She was just happy to see her man. He should consider himself lucky to have her.

Once i finished my shopping rounds It was time for the celebration. the Water well was completed and ready to be used by the locals. Isabelle gathered as many animals as she could to cheer when fresh bathing and drinking water was available. The celebration could not last too long. There were many other projects that our town must have before it can be time to celebrate. 

  The next project I have in mind is much cheaper then the well project. I had talked to isabelle about the slowly growing field of flowers on the other side of the river. Back at my home, my family would use a large field of flowers for meditation purposes and I wanted something similar to be done in this forest. I discussed having a stone tablet to signal that the flowers were a place of quiet and concentration. She agreed and helped to put up the donation gyriod. I was able to pay it off almost immediately. Stones with old sayings on them must not be too hard to come by. 

Now I had at last finished my work for the day. I found the kitten at the train station to go home. I stopped her and told her about a place called new hell and it's mayor. She looked scared at first but I insisted that it was a lovely town. I got her to come with me to the train there. During the ride she told me about how she would get lost and scared when she was little. But no more. She was trying to stop being frightened by going out all on her own. I told her about how me living in this forest was my little way of learning that same lesson. Her face lit up at me when i told her my story. It's always nice to have another little one to look at me with such regard. 

Once we got too new hell, she went to explore all on her own again. I managed to find Button pulling some landscaping work. He is hoping to build a camping area over by the ocean. I definitely must see this when his work is done. He also had a gift prepared for me. It was a very colorful spring looking dress. He said it looked adorable on me. He knows my weakness for clothes far too well. 

He also had a visitor in his town. A panther in a tent said she could give us good or bad luck. Button had already went to her so it was my turn. Something about that panther was truly strange. It reminded me of legends i heard as a child of people using shadows as tools. After talking to her with a short while I no longer felt scared. Instead she described several things to me. She told me about the old mayor on the island. The words turle did take me somewhere else for a short while. Once she was done she told me to be on the lookout for a lucky shirt. It just so happened to be in buttons store that day. I bought it with no questions asked. I do wish it looked just a tad better. 

When i came back home, it had started to rain. Unfortunate as there was nothing for me to do but go home and redecorate. I was told by Button that today is a day where fathers are meant to be celebrated. My father had business with my brother so we could not talk too much today. I did write him a letter that talked of the things I did as a little one.There's no guarantee he will read it but it did make me happy and thats all that matters.

Day 7: Bug off.

Dear Diary. Today was the day of the big bug catching tournament. I had originally planed to let the villagers take part in all the activities but Isabelle insisting i take the day off and catch bugs. I did have my one duty of the day and that was greeting the new villager. It was Colten from New Hell. I was surprised to see him move after Button talked about how close they were. If he causes difficulties with my friendship with the little one then I may be forced to kick him out. 

There was also a new store at the shopping center. A gardening shop run by a rather likeable sloth. He's not the typical kind of person i would normally make company with however his interests of making the town perfect were along the same lines as mine. He also had an Axe in his store. meaning I can start work on my perfect apple orchard when the prefect apples grow back.

Now onto the actual tournament.  The first thing i cought of any value was A Tiger butterfly. It's size was normal but it apparently looked "delicious". It was worth

The lizard one told me that I would get something special if I had received 80 points. I would receive a special item and hold a first place position with so many points. I did manage to find a much more rare Mantis while searching for a better butterfly. With the higher rarity he gave me a large point bonas

I got my special item but i remained paranoid. At any moment I could be out done by an animal who has spent the whole week training to catch the biggest and best bug possible. I must have snagged half the bug population of Richlend before I found a Arges Butterfly. I had it in my net without any trouble. This was starting to get fairly easy. I went to see the lizard and he gave me another huge point bonas.

There was no way any other animal would be able to catch a bug so rare and so perfect. I had nothing left to worry over and yet I was still running around and showing him bugs that could cement my first place lead in the tournament.  I waited out my competitors until the tournament had finished. I graciously took homy my first place trophy while my villagers clapped me on. I must say, this is one of the proudest moments living in this town.

To celebrate i asked button to take me too his town and show him his dance club one to celebrate. Instead of dancing there was a concert. The canine who was playing the records last night now had a guitar and played some of his own music. Button gave me the copy of the song to take home to play inside my home.

Day 6: Quiet Day.

I finally have a day without any mayoral duties. I can spend my days as I had intended. My only order for today was to attempt to pay for my well. Which i did pay a large portion of today with my free time. As soon as the shops were all opened I went into them all to find their wares. There seemed to be some construction going on right next to the nooklings shop. All he noise this construction is making better be worth it. 

after passing by the construction site I went to the museum to learn about my recently purchased painting. According to Blathers, That painting was legitimate. I was sure after hearing of the foxes shady practises that my bells were wasted on this but Blathers was happy to to hand this on his museums walls. 

I ran my way to The Able sisters to find more official looking clothes.  The older sister spoke even more than  before. Even her sister declared that it was the most she had ever said to a customer. It was quite an honor. I would hope that my persists attempts at social interaction would open herself to me and the other animals.

Over at the nooklings store I found the perfect bed for Vladimir. I had just sent him a letter saying how he needed a bed and i found just the right one. I do hope he uses it. I gift wrapped him and everything. 

So like I said I had no mayoral duties but i still have my job as a friend of the animals. Genji insisted on playing hide and seek with the others. I did well at first but Genji was very well hidden. It must be his warrior training that kept him hidden. I ran out of time while running around the village. My legs are still tired.

I had to rest my legs for tonight. Button sent me a letter to visit his town. He had several new buildings in his town. After waiting for the train to come by I stepped off into the rain. I put on my coat and quickly fallowed button too the "club". He promised me that there would be dancing so i made sure to put on my ballet uniform. This kind of music was not good for ballet in the slightest. The music was something completely new and unheard by mine ears. I danced along with Button to his beats for  several hours. If my family saw me at that moment in time they would swear i was an imposter or perhaps under some form of influence. 

Button then took me too his cafe to help relax from all that dancing. I had never had this "coffee" drink before but it was delightful. The one who made the coffee was very polite and proper as well. He even complimented my way of speaking that normally confuses the animals in my forest. Button and I sat at the table inside the cafe in quiet to have our drinks. He's been rather distant lately. I do hope that everything is alright with him. He doesn't deserve any unwanted hardships.

Day 5: Redd

Dear Diary. On my way to work I saw a green tent in my town center. At first I thought someone had decided to camp right on public property but as it turns out, there was a small shop inside. A fox was selling art and enthusiastically claiming to have more authentic pieces of art than any other salesman. I looked around and found A very nice painting. I would have grabbed every bit of art available if he didn't limit it to one piece of art per customer. 

One of my villagers talking about the fox being a very shady character. I do hope I chose wisely when picking out my art. I'll find out when it get's mailed to me tomorrow. 

Isabelle told me today that the villagers wanted more public works projects in the forest. The projects that I had listed were not good for my grand vision of what the forest is going to be like aside from one. There was a well that would be good for the south west side of town. A fresh water source would be useful to animals. Some of them are starting to smell rather...gamey. 

Once again we had a new villager in town. Right from when I saw his home I had an itching feeling inside me. or was that the stomach virus from the other night?  Inside was a very colorful sheep. he was...interesting. I have no clue how he got his wool so many different shades. As the mayor I shouldn't single out a single animal but... Perhaps he would rather live in buttons town.

 With work done it was time to go into the shopping district. The older porcupine is starting to warm up to me. She has started speaking to me in full sentences. Those sentences were demands that I talk to her sister but I have still made progress. I am very curious to get to know her and how she works. I do wish to thank her for all the clothes I've bought from her family. 

Lately I've been noticing some of my animals getting along much better than before. Genji asked me to deliver a gift to Purrl because he was too shy. Genji is a warrior. A delicate feminine like Purrl shouldn't intimidate him.. It didn't cross my mind until much later that he could have a romantic interest in her.  Mother always did say I wasn't good at picking up on certain peoples feelings. I wonder if Purrl is the same way as me?

Vladimir invited me to see his home today. Either his home was undergoing renovations or he is our local builder. His home was filled with tools and other construction related things. I don't even know where he sleeps at night. At some point I must mail him a bed or maybe a hammock. Just something for him to rest on. 

I was told that my little friend button had some things to away from his town so visiting wasn't an option today. Instead I spent the bulk of my day on the island or catching crawfish. I made enough money to pay off yet another home loan and get some things around town. It's nice to have a slow day in my own village every now and again. it reminds me of why I moved out into the forest in the first place.
