Initially it’s because Cristina asked. Their relationship develops from there — it was a fun one to write because they’re not people who would have been thrown together normally.

Kieran and Alec got some interaction in Lord of Shadows. Will we see them interacting more in QoAaD?

A bit — one of the things I like about such big books is being able to move around between different interactions with different characters. Kieran interacted with Alec and Kit in Lord of Shadows; now we see him interact with Helen and with Diego.
