So! Like, around last year, I made my first saint seiya fanart and it was a height chart of the gold saints (here) - so for my year anniversary of posting for this fandom I wanted to redraw it! With bonus Shion and Kanon this time Hope I’ve uh, improved ^ ^;

I'm so glad the overwhelming fan opinion of the live action st sei film news seems to be

I genuinely hope this film blows me out of the water and surpasses all of my expectations of a properly realized Saint Seiya adaptation, I hope I can say it does more than the bare minimum to properly portray the characters and themes I fell in love with the series for, but for goodness' sake, I've seen how wrong these things can go so many times. We all have.

Hello I have returned to just add on: all of the character traits Shun posesses that are considered 'feminine' are the exact values that we should be encouraging in young men, we should be showing more examples of male characters who are genuinely sensitive and kind, and are treated with the same respect their peers are because those 'feminine' qualities they possess are their greatest strengths and what makes them absolutely essential to the group dynamic.

Let male characters be soft. Let male characters be gentle. Let male characters be pretty. Stop taking away the few role models "sensitive" boys have. There are no gender-exclusive personality traits. Let boys cry.

I know it's old news but it really destroys all the significance of Shun's character and his importance as a masculine parallel to Saori if you just... make him a girl because you don't think kindness is a "masculine value" or whatever toxic clownery the Americans responsible for SS netflix were on about.

Plus it makes both characters seem a bit redundant when their values and traits overlap as much as they do.
