Progress!

I have established color themes for each team! I still hate them but they are done!

I also assigned all the drivers their number, and ranked them and the teams.

Decided not to do any more logos because I think they all look stupid so forcing myself to do it will be painful.

The next goal will be to set up my announcer team. So that’s roughly 2 announcers, strategist, weather report, and on-the-ground team which is 2 more. So 6 characters. One fic I’d like to write in this universe is “announcer x driver.” I think there’s a lot of opportunity for that to be both cute and angsty.

I also think I’ve decided who my main driver x driver ship will be. Although I will create it so anyone could be shipped.

I haven’t even begun to think about writing team principals and engineers. Although…driver x engineer is kind of promising now that I think about it.

So 20 characters roughed out. 40ish more on the horizon. I wonder what other characters I’ll decide to throw in.

Logo Samples

So I only have a couple logos done for PREQ because...I am terrible at graphic design. No colors are final yet, but I was throwing things behind them as a test.

For team Macrow, which is a computer company equivalent to Microsoft in this universe. Because I thought it would be funny to do "Macro" instead of "Micro"... I have the humor of a middle aged father. This style of logo leans towards RB/Alphatauri style.

Resurgent's logo. This leans more towards the Williams style. The backstory however leans more towards Ferrari and Kick Sauber. Resurgent is a long time top team which has recently taken on a new partnership with Vocal, a social media app in this universe.

PAE is funded by a gas company. I don't have my notes right in front of me, but I'm pretty sure this was inspired by Mercedes Petronas which sounded like Petrol to me. Style was influenced by a mix of Alpine and McLaren.

Introduction

Welcome to Prime Equation, my AU ripoff of Formula 1. As I said in my previous post, this is a personal thing that I've put a lot into so far. It allows me to think up fics and scenarios without making any real people uncomfortable.

Here is the logo, using my beautiful Canva graphic design skills. PREQ is the shortened version of Prime Equation.

The Formula 2 equivalent in this universe is Alpha Equation or ALEQ. I have not even begun to think of teams and drivers for ALEQ.

What level of crazy is designing your own version of Formula One?

So basically I got really uncomfy with the realshipping, and decided it would be so cool if I invented my own AU...

Turns out creating 10 teams, 20 drivers, along with staff and branding is kind of difficult. But it's been a lot of fun. I think I might create a new tumblr for it to keep it all organized. It is called:

Prime Equation

I only have some of the logos for the teams so hopefully I'll maybe get input from other folks. Not really more forte. I do think the team names are kind of fun. I'd also love getting some feedback on the driver names, as I am deeply concerned about being respectful and avoiding the JKR method of naming people.
