I really do feel like it says something about how a lot of people look at the world that they watched a duo who fundamentally succeed because they balance each other out -- one who trusts in people and wants to see the good in everyone and one who is always suspicious of everyone and tends to see everyone's flaws and shortcomings (though to Stiles' credit, just because he sees them doesn't mean he uses them or resents them for it, at least not all of the time) -- and came to the conclusion that actually the trusting one who sees the good in people was wrong to be that way and should've just adopted Stiles' approach of suspicion and distrust.
Not only does that just fundamentally ignore all of the show's themes (which are not subtle for the record, they say the word "balance" a lot). It also just seems like a really sad philosophy to live by? Which is also why Stiles doesn't hold to it 24/7 and takes on more of the trust and hope that's central to Scott's character?
I'm just saying (still, I've said it before, so still saying), if you truly believe Scott should've listened to Stiles and all of his suspicions and distrust 100% of the time, then you're advocating for a cast a quarter of its current size, everyone being miserable and distrustful of each other, and the story being radically different because it would rob Scott of the traits that make him a good Alpha. And also almost none of the Stiles ships people love would exist. So there's that too.

Supernatural is so insane because what do you mean the big bad of s11 was god and his sister and the next season was just British people.

i know this narrative has been beaten to death, but dean settling into the bunker and immediately nesting like a bird versus sam keeping his room empty and working like a dog is so interesting to me. dean wants to belong somewhere, lay down roots the moment he gets the opportunity. sam doesn't think he belongs anywhere, can't get comfortable, can't bring himself to see the bunker as anything but a transient space.
dean the drifter, desperate for a home. sam the escapee, who doesn't know how to settle. it's tragic really.

Watching things with adult eyes is such a trip; that Finding Nemo opening is horrific, actually.
