how you program your mind when you’re at a low point is so impactful. resorting back to toxic patterns when you’re low is only strengthening those neural pathways and programming your mind to make those unhealthy choices or think those unhealthy thoughts every time you’re not feeling well. alternatively, trying your hardest to cope in a healthier way every time you’re feeling bad will strengthen those positive neural pathways, and as time goes on, it will become easier to make healthy choices and say no to toxic patterns. this of course isn’t to say that you should feel guilty if you relapse, it is not by any means easy to reprogram your brain and sometimes we relapse and that’s okay, so long as we’re trying our best to treat ourselves better.

Rima keheningan
Hai angin,
Kini jam berbisik berirama berusaha menunjukkan akan dimulainya hari.
03.24
Namun kau pun tetap saja berada di sekitarku.
Diam. Menyelimuti dalam keheningan. Nyaman.
Nampaknya, aku tetap tidak bisa menghindarimu.

Angin
Lari, berlari ke samudera dan benua.
Menjauhi angan atas bagaimana debu bertemu dengan angin.
Selayaknya aku. Terlalu takut untuk berlari. Juga, bagaimana mungkin aku menghindarimu?

Procrastination 101
I wanted to tell you a few things about procrastination, because we all procrastinate from time to time and I’ve been doing it more often than usual. So how do we beat procrastination and start getting sh*t done?
First of all, ask yourself why you procrastinate. Indeed, procrastination is a stress reliever : by avoiding some things, you push away the stress and the struggle it brings you. You don’t want to do it because you don’t want to get anxious and you think you have better things to do.
Think about the excuses you’re using to avoid the work you should be doing. If you always say phrases like « I’ll do it later » or « I don’t need to do it right now » chances are you are procrastinating.
Your perfectionnism may be the reason why you procrastinate. You want it to be perfect so you don’t even start because you fear the result and the possible criticism
So how can you stop procrastinating?
Just start. Try doing it for 5 minutes. Set a 5 minute timer and see what you can accomplish and then stop. If you feel like 5 minutes weren’t enough, set your timer for 5 more minutes. Maybe you have no idea what you’re doing, maybe you’re really confused about what you should do but the most important is to do something. So sit on your desk, or put your running shoes on, and just start.
