seeking a room in DC!
the good news? i got an amazing internship opportunity for summer 2025!
the bad news? i don't have housing in washington dc 😭
i'm olive, i'm 20 years old, and i'm a college student from ohio. if you (or any woman you know) have a room (or half a room) available in DC to sublet from june 1st through august 10th, please please dm me!!!
my maximum i can pay is $1500/month and i would probably need to be within walking distance of a metro station, but other than that, i'm not picky. i don't have any pets or partners; it would just be me and my suitcase! i like to write, cross-stitch, and work out.
please reblog to spread! thank u <3

People on tiktok love to repeat "lesbians have always had a complicated relationship with gender!" ad nauseam but never follow it up with any critical thought.
The reason lesbians tend to have a difficult relationship with womanhood is a combination of sexism and homophobia. We are expected to conform to strict gender roles, have heterosexual relationships and center our lives around reproduction - of course homosexual women are going to feel alienated by all this. But that doesn't mean we are lesser women or not women at all.
It genuinely upsets me to see people celebrate our estrangement from womanhood. Lesbians shouldn't be expected or encouraged to identify as "non-women". There is nothing wrong with us. What needs to change is society's idea of what it means to be a woman, not us.

Birth control is one of those things that’s so complex to feminism because on the one hand, it single handedly freed millions of women from sexual and reproductive servitude and fuelled women’s liberation in an easily accessible way. On the other hand it’s such a representation of all of the inadequies of women’s healthcare, the horrific side effects, the ways it’s overprescribed and expected of women to take on to save their boyfriends the burden of using a condom. It’s like thank you, but also do better. It may have leased to mass improvements in women’s rights in society but it desperately still needs improvement

your sex is literally just your body. it is a completely neutral biological characteristic. it says nothing about you. nothing about your personality is incompatible with your body. you can act/dress/behave any way you want regardless of your sex! neither your personality or body need to change!!
baffling how this take has become so demonized

sometimes a post will generalize about americans and be semi or mostly right but obviously has only interacted with one specific region or class or race and ill do my smug little american chortle that they're stereotyping poorly and then immediately after there'll be a post saying that americans cant live without large bevvy and if you seen an american without a large beverage in arms reach thats actually a distress sign and possibly even a medical emergency and im like oh that's true 100% for all of us. yes.

“but it wasn’t that bad”
did it hurt? did you feel scared? unsafe? were you embarrassed? humiliated? terrified? did you feel confused on why? does it keep you up at night? do you avoid being in a similar situation? did you cry? did you want to cry? who told you it wasn’t that bad?
