Diamonds are the Precious Gemstones.
Diamonds are considered as the most precious gemstone in the earth. Due to its utmost beauty and characteristics, trading of diamonds is done at a very high market rate. Real diamonds are formed in the mantle of the earth surface and thus is obtained by mining. These diamonds possess their own natural property that makes these diamonds unique from other gemstones. As a result, people specially the women, are fond of such precious stones.
Diamond has primitive four characteristics which are collectively known as the four C's of a diamond. These four C's are Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat. These prime factors are the reason for its undefined beauty. Diamonds which are just mined does not possess that much brightness as that of rough stones. Its beauty and dazzling behaviour are exhibited only when it is cut and polished. Thus cut of a diamond determines its brightness. More the cut is finer and sharper, more will be its sparkling beauty. The diamond shapes are depended on these cuts. Plenty of shapes are available in the market. They are; round brilliant cut, pear shaped diamond, oval shaped diamond, marquise cut diamond, heart shaped diamond, Asscher cut diamond, Radiant cut diamond, Emerald cut diamond, Cushion cut diamond, and Princess cut diamond. Diamonds which are colourless are graded as D, E, and F. These diamonds are more expensive than the coloured diamonds. Coloured diamonds are white, red, blue and green and are graded as G, H, and I. Pure Diamonds contain no flaws or inclusions. And this property is determined by the clarity of a diamond. A diamond is considered as the hardest substance on this earth. It is measured in carats. 1 carat = 0.20 gm. Due to of its hardness, diamonds are used for multitasking. Besides decorating jewelries, these stones are used for polishing, cutting, and drilling in industries. Diamonds can also be used as an antinode and engraving stones of granite.
Diamonds are available for decades. From ancient history, many fictitious stories or myths along with many superstitions are prevailing from thousands of years. It was the time of kingship but today these myths are still there. People believe wearing a diamond engagement ring symbolizes the love, commitment, and emotions that are directly connected to the heart. These beliefs somehow also contributed to the rising value of a diamond.
However, real diamond is always rare to obtain. This is the reason why today's market is filled with exclusive lab grown diamonds. Cubic Zirconia is the best example of man-made diamonds which are mainly used replacing real diamonds. These diamonds contain the same chemical and physical properties as that of real diamonds but are not considered as duplicate diamonds. But the advantage is that they are less expensive than the real diamonds. Due to a unique and exceptional characteristic of diamond and its less availability in nature, diamonds are so precious.
