Kosmo !!
Kosmo nodded with a quiet, but steady “Sí, señor.”, determined eyes looking at both his father and the head of his institute, his fingers curling around his stele. It was what he needed. A responsibility he had forgotten before he got trapped in the Seelie realm. He wasn’t the best shadowhunter out there, but he still felt a sense of obligation. And, of course, there was a fear of not being able to do the only thing he could. After all, what could he possibly do if he wasn’t a shadowhunter? This was what he was born for. He could already feel the runes tingling on his skin, and he hadn’t even activated any of them. “Does this mean we can train with them from now on?” He asked, his smile matching his father’s.
Francis couldn’t help but feel pride, but he had to remind himself the reason for doing this. There were dangers out there and unseen threats. It was never a bad idea to play cautious. There were those that may take advantage of the situation at hand. They had to at least make sure others were not getting hurt. Those that could not fend for themselves were protected and justice delivered for those that needed it. They were in a different realm but the principals should be the same. Justice had not been delivered on his son’s front. He had not forgotten that. He was still seeking answers to that, but that came second to his own son’s wellbeing. “Absolutely,” he confirmed. He got up and moved away from the house to give enough space. He brought out his own Stele and activated a few of his own runes. “Now strike me,” he ordered with a glint in his eye. He wouldn’t make this easy, but he had confidence his son could land a hit on him. There were many different approaches he could take. Go straight for him or take his time and try and land a sneak attack.

Lavinia !!
“And here I thought I was the only one,” she chuckled. But honestly, she didn’t think she needed to know any about this either. As long as she stayed under the radar and did not harm any mundanes. So far, she did not. Not in a way that called for involvement from shadowhunters at least. Lavinia listened to him curiously, she couldn’t imagine being of any big interest to anyone, yet alone a shadowhunter. “Hmmm,” she hummed to his words, giving them a moment of thought. “You are right, but then again… I don’t know what I can tell you about my life. I’ve been on land for barely a few years and before that… it was… just the usual game of hunter and prey – you know, like a lion, an eagle, a shark; any other animal of prey you can imagine. This life on land… this is way more interesting to me,” she admitted, “It is also way more dangerous, in a different way. But interesting.”
“Nope,” he sighed and gave a sad smile. Was just a shame it had to come to this at all. No matter what path. However what was going on out there was not something that needed to be focused on just now. The Siren had nothing to do with it and he wasn’t looking to answers right now either. Just company and a chat by the lake. “So you have an outsider’s perspective one who doesn’t have to take part in the bullshit that goes on between us land dwellers. What keeps you on land?” He kind of envied that. A way out. Though now they were stuck here with the rest of them. “Dangerous yes, though I imagine the oceans have their own dangers?” He asked a little curious about that. Sirens came one land and sure others have come across them but it was rare and there was no rune to create gills nor Mundanes that live in the ocean so no need to ever look. It was a great unknown to them.

Pinniki !!
A RECEPTIVE LOOK ON THEIR FACE AS THEY LISTENED … & pik nodded thoughtfully in turn . the information he’d just provided helped them immensely & they were very appreciative the whitelighter only hoped that showed now in their softly indebted expression as they weren’t quick to say it ; more than anything they’d find in the pages of a book . francis seemed particularly insightful , trustworthy , & pik noted this . it was a cruel fact , but they knew it to be true . they couldn’t recall exactly how they’d wound up the wander woods , but they knew they’d spent a good amount of time there . the idea fact that others would get lost there , as well , perturbed them greatly . at his question , pik’s lids flickered . ❛ i no … ❜ they replied . ❛ it isn’t . ❜ there were times pinniki slipped like this & truly didn’t know if they should explain . was it better they don’t ? & why shouldn’t they ? small existential crises came & went every so often as a result of these poorly answered questions , but they carried on . browns smiled as the corners of their lips upturned at the concept of his : ‘ not that it matters ’ . it was refreshing . they were happy to gloss over that & focus on his next reply . ❛ your son ? ❜ they inquired lightly , curious . ❛ he must have been grateful to find you . have you more family here ? ❜
Francis could see the other was thankful for the information. “I think the most important lesson is if you don’t feel comfortable in a situation just get out of it. Even if you don’t understand why yourself for feeling that way,” something that he himself took a while to understand himself. He’s ended up in beaten up states because he didn’t listen to his gut and then got a hell of a yelling from Silvia and the rest of the familia. So they were an unusual case, but where they came from didn’t matter. There was no bearing on who they were as a being. Though Francis could see they were not comfortable with the question. So there was some emotions surrounding it and he was not one to poke at things that wasn’t his business. So he was right to move on. He could see the relief on the other’s face. “Si, mi hijo,” he spoke in his native tongue. “We were grateful to find each other. Yeah my wife, my daughter and granddaughter,” three generations of Reyes now in the realm. It wasn’t that long ago when hit was just him and his son. He has glad to have them here and to know they were safe but now they were stuck in what ever was going on here.

Olivia !!
DID HE REALLY MEAN THAT or was he saying things because it would be stupid to voice a distaste for downworlders while he was standing next to a hybrid ? it was hard to tell and not just with him . everyone could turn out to be the enemy . anyone could betray you . ❛ it would . ❜ olivia agreed in a quiet voice , emerald eyes flickering to his features when he announced that he wasn’t a fan of the clave . ❛ a shadowhunter that does not agree with their actions ? wow . i guess that didn’t make you one of their favorites . ❜ he was not the only one and the whitelighter-witch knew that , but still . the majority of them followed their leaders . blindly . ❛ you think i would just leave you here ? safe my own skin and leave you for death ? ❜ it made her laugh , though the sound was barely audible . she was going to say something else , but his question distracted her for a moment . ❛ she is nine months old . ❜ and mostly a little angel , which made her feel even more selfish for needing some time alone . ❛ you see , francisco , i don’t usually let people die . not unless they deserve it . ❜ and she supposed that the jury was still out on this one , but it was not like she would orb away from here and leave him to fend for himself . not unless he attacked her . ❛ but i’m olivia . ❜
“No I am not well liked among the council and they have tried to undermine my work in Mexico City plenty of times,” he has made good friends in the city with the other species and regularly checked in with them. Communication was key in keeping conflicts low and most happy. Rogues were dealt with accordingly and the accords were mostly upheld. He didn’t rule with an iron fist and Mundanes were kept safe and unaware. “I rather you kept yourself safe, if there is a way of helping and you want to take it go for it. I can look after myself if need be” he was hoping they wouldn’t run into anything but if they did he would rather someone that has a young child survive out of it. Francis nodded he understood what they were like at that age. He had been through it with 4 children. “They’re cute at that age but a handful. What’s her name?” He asked though truth be told that was them at any age, just different challenges. “And what’s your judgement so far?” He asked raising a brow.

Lavinia !!
She took a swig from the bottle before handing it back. Was it smart to just trust a shadowhunter blindly? possibly not, but lavinia had not done any harm and she thought they were past the danger zone now. If he wanted to kill her, he could do so easily anyway. Shaking her head at his question. “no, no. Not like that. It’s just… i don’t understand. And i probably never will,” she shrugged, knowing that the few years on land she had spent with anything but interested in all the species on land and their politics. So simply, she was not smart enough to understand, she was nothing but a predator, trying to be anything but what she was born as. Actually have a life beyond survival instinct, eating and killing. That thought called for more booze, so she unashamedly reached for the bottle. “broaden horizons?” she chuckled, “how could i ever broaden your horizons?”
Francis nodded and smiled slightly. “I can barely get my head around it,” and as head of institute he was involved with relations. Relations of those that lived in the same city as him. Though he was always ready for a fight and taught his kids to be the same. He rather take the diplomatic route if he could. So to just destroy a city that had so much heritage and culture was very cold hearted. He knew there were those like that out there it was still hard to swallow. “Well the way I see it everyone has something offer. Everyone has a different viewpoint n things and only by talking can we understand better those viewpoints,” which is where the accords went wrong. It benefitted them and only them. “You’ve had a different life than I have so your perspective on things might be different,” he added.

Pinniki !!
A LIGHT SMILE SENT HIS WAY FORE THEY LOOKED DOWN … & pik nodded softly in turn as they scanned over the cover of the book . ❛ yes … ❜ they concurred , swallowing & allowing their smile to slowly flatten . ❛ i hadn’t much experience with the fae & i wasn’t as cautious as i should have been in their realm … ❜ brown eyes went back up a beat after to find the other once more & they brought the book down to hold at their side . ❛ i suppose i have learned my lesson . ❜ they hoped , at least . the late angel had certainly become more careful since making their way out of the wander woods though , admittedly , their sense of adventure overpowered common sense from time to time . this wasn’t the first circumstance they got themselves lost or in trouble . as francis offered his name & nicknames , pinniki smiled widely . ❛ francis , it’s a pleasure . i suppose you could call me pik , if you’d like . it’s a nickname i picked up once i visited earth . ❜ they chuckled softly at the question & nodded . ❛ i am . or … at least i am trying to better familiarize myself with them & their ways . i would much rather learn to stay in their good graces than find myself in their bad . have you been in the realm very long ? ❜
“It’s like with anyone if you have suspicions of them just be careful. Fae can be tricksters but they can also chose not to be,” he added. “Species doesn’t matter, some demons can be more helpful than some angels and not always looking for your soul either,” Camilla was a prime example of that. She was sweet and he actually took a liking to her. There were others here that defied norms. There were also those that didn’t for example Cassian. “Well I feel we learn the most from our mistakes and failures. You’re not the first to get lost there and probably won’t be the last either,” he told him. “Visited earth? So earth isn’t your home?” He asked which was unconventional to say the least from what he knew of whitelighters. “Not that it matters, it’s a pleasure to meet you Pik,” he smiled. “Been here for over a month now. My Son was here longer,” and now the rest of the familia seemed to be slowly pulled through. He wished it was the whole familia.

Astra !!
— she nodded, “ it is not your fault. ” she knew he was right. even though she had been looking into things, she’d allowed herself to get distracted in her own general interests in magic. it would have been nice to know what those behind the rest of these things were, since cirilla had only brought them over. “ she’s been quite helpful for me as well. and, of course, is good company. ” the warlock smiled. she sighed, nodding as he said there wasn’t a magical fix. “ i was hoping that all of this could be resolved peacefully. but assuming those behind the blackmail are the same as those behind the recent attacks, we no longer have much choice. but i’m unsure all of the downworld will side together, considering it was fae who trapped us here, and while i agree with the queen’s wish for change, i know others do not care why they were brought here. ” astra sighed. she couldn’t speak for the warlocks. even as the original, she’d never taken a position of power, and she didn’t think she had the right, now, to take it when she knew she would act selfishly, in the end. “ i wish that i could say she had some answers, but you are right in that she is just as clueless about things as the rest of us. although, i’m unsure i’d be able to tell you, if she told me she did know anything. she is my family, after all. ”
“Nobody knows who’s fault it is though. Who is masterminding all of this? How can we do anything against something so unknown without harming innocents?” Was that their intentions to watch them all turn against each other? Questions. Questions. Questions. All this place seemed to do was create questions and no answers and it aggravated him. “I don’t think this can be resolved peacefully. Not with the mix we have here. I don’t think the powerful beings being trapped here will just sit back and take this,” he didn’t blame them either. For him he was mostly concerned about the repercussions of Alicante. For them a horseman a powerful being in their own right had been killed. What use was being at each other’s throats though? One thing for sure the queen could placate this. If she really wanted to. It could be that he was not important enough but Francis was not aware if there were any talks being had during their stay here. If she was just as clueless surely it was best to try an unify and put minds together rather than hide in her castle? “I think fixing the natural order and preventing a massive supernatural war might be more important than some of our secrets,” he confessed. Even if it hurt the ones he cared about most. “I can understand that sentiment, I would do anything for mine,” he told her.

Karmen !!
judgmental – T H A T was karmen’s ultimate flaw . guess that’s what made her human . or at least , partly . the travels to the seelie realm weren’t necessarily easy for the shadowhunter . in fact , it was the last place she wanted herself & her daughter to be . but alas , her father wanted to hear this queen out , so of course she’d oblige . for now . with crossed arms & a steely attitude , the brooding eldest paced along the wood flooring of her family home ; little cris minding her own in a corner - creating her own fun as a toddler often would .
“ papi — what could you POSSIBLY have to hear from this queen ?? i mean , she’s not even letting us go — oh dios MÍO . “ an exaggerated eyeroll as she finally stops in her track - her tall frame even more extenuated by leather thigh-highs . “ ella tiene algunos tornillos sueltos . and you’re entertaining THIS . “
@prctectcrreyes / closed .
He loved his daughter Karmen dearly and his granddaughter Cris. Though there were time Karmen and him did not see eye to eye. She was a bit more extreme in the ways she handled things. He preferred a more principled approach and would always listen first then act. That was the fair way. It was not perfect he would admit that but to be treated unfairly and to have judgement cast without the facts known was unfair and right now some of them were in the receiving end of that. “Everyone has a right to explain theirselves hija. We don’t know what it is like from her perspective,” he had a feeling Karmen had other plans. “What would you do hija? If you were in my shoes what would you do differently?” He asked. A simple way to get viewpoints on to the table. Karmen wasn’t stupid and respected that. He was stubborn but that was in his own ways. If he didn’t think something was right he wouldn’t do it. However he did like to hear what others thought. Perhaps she could see something he didn’t.

Olivia !!
WASN’T HE ? it was rare to find a shadowhunter that did not have any hesitations when it came to downworlders - even the good ones struggled to let go of their prejudices from time to time . it would take a little more convincing if he wanted her to believe him , but just for now she gave him a simple nod of her head . ❛ good . as someone that happens to be on both sides of the story , i can tell you that it’s bullshit . ❜ their species did not define them . actions did . her green eyes studied him for another moment or two before she finally started to lead the way , a small sigh falling from her lips . ❛ sounds smart . being associated with the clave is bad news right now . ❜ and unfortunately , it dragged all shadowhunters into chaos , whether they were part of the solution or the problem . ❛ still , you might want to be more careful than that . i can orb out anytime i want or need . you can’t . it makes you the much easier prey . ❜ and while rumor had it that no one could die right now , there were enough things that made death seem pleasant in comparison . ❛ i just needed some silence . ❜ laura admitted , even though she hated doing so . ❛ everyone tells you how cute they are when you have children . no one mentions anything about how overwhelming they can be . ❜ she loved mia with all of her heart , but there were so many things going on right now , she needed some time that she could dedicate to herself while matthew looked after her . was it selfish ? maybe . but she was doing it for a good reason … she wanted to be a better mom . the only way to make that happen was to get some time to process things , even if that meant leaving her child for an hour or two .
Francis nodded “I agree with that, vehemently. Blood or race doesn’t mean anything. Just wish the rest of my kind understood that. Would make things easier on all of us,” he shook his head. “If the clave exists anymore that is but no I was never a fan of them,” which probably cost his family any promotion opportunities outside of him passing and leaving the head of institute post. He didn’t feel it was right for them to support that kind of attitude on the backs of downworlders. “I can look after myself if I need to. I would rather you kept yourself safe anyway,” he didn’t want anyone sacrificing themselves for him. He trained daily and knew how to fend for himself. If he got hurt he knew who to lean on. If he died here well, that was just it. He would just hope the blood for blood ethos would help find the killer. Francis listened to the girl speak. “It’s not easy and yes kids are cute but they are also one hell of a handful. Recognising you need breaks though is a good thing, rather than guilt tripping yourself. How old is your child?” He asked. He couldn’t fault her for wanting silence. Silvia and him took turns with their children. He loved them to pieces but he had been in the girl’s shoes. “Well if I am to die here it would be good for you to know my name. I’m Francisco Reyes, Francis or Cisco for short,” he introduced with a slightly cheeky smirk.

Pinniki !!
THEY COULD JUST AS EASILY GO FOR ANOTHER BOOK … & though the stranger had reassured them , pik wanted to insist he take it . he was there first , after all . but instead , as they were slightly abashed from seeming to bewilder the other by their sudden appearance , they only smiled weakly & nodded their head . sights wandered back to the book they’d both gone for : ‘ fairfolk : a history ’ & pulled it out from between two others . the whitelighter was more so interested in what the fae permitted to be in their library about their kind than anything else . looking back to their opposite after his question was asked , pik lifted their brows & chuckled softly . ❛ … to this part , yes . i’ve been in this realm for awhile … probably not as long as most , though . ❜ they returned obscurely with a doofy smile , referring to their time in the wander woods . that section of the realm had been hellish ; the late angel had been through worse , however . ❛ i’ve never been to this realm & found myself in those damn woods when i first arrived . tell me i’m still there & i’ll probably believe you . ❜ pik laughed quietly to themselves , looking down briefly in thought . ❛ … sorry for i’m pinniki . ❜ they stammered shortly after fore offering their hand to shake .
Francis could look up one of the other books in the mean time. It wasn’t that big off a deal to him and he could also use this excuse to do something else. Perhaps he could talk to Estela about Fae history or ask one the the fae that lived here that was willing to talk with him. Some of them watching him as if he was going to make a move against them. It was the last thing he wanted to do. He wanted a few things but not that. “Ah that’s a harsh fate to arrive in,” Luckily for him Francis had been there once before and shown the institute. Though his knowledge on fae themselves was limited at best. “The Fae are good tricksters and that’s about as much I know about them,” he chuckled slightly and shook his head with a sigh. “You’re not in the wander woods thankfully,” though to be fair this could be one very complex illusion but it was best not going down to that line of thinking. “Francisco, Francis or Cisco for short,” most called him Francis but there were a few that called him Cisco. He took their hand and shook it. “So you’re trying to figure out the mystery of the fae as well?” He asked.

Kosmo !!
It didn’t even register that his father was trying to joke around, not because it was in bad taste, but more because Kosmo was kind of out of it to begin with. His mind was in thousands of places, and it was hard to grab onto just one thing and focus on what was happening at that moment. But either way, his dad was right. He went way too far the other night. The tasks weren’t helping, either. He’d made some bad decisions. And good ones. And all the positive memories mixing with the negative ones ended up with such a sour taste in his mouth that he didn’t even want to think about it anymore. The only thing that brough him out of his head was the sight of his stele. Kosmo immediately glanced up at his father, eyes about three times their size. “For real?” He took it without any hesitation, a soft smile appearing on his lips. “Are you sure? D– I mean, you think I’m ready?” The stele fit his hand like a glove would, and he already felt some energy rushing back into his chest. And maybe a little bit of hope, too. “I won’t make you regret this. I promise.”
Franics didn’t know if this was a good idea but he also did not like the idea of his son being defenceless in a time that was so uncertain. He was getting there but he still needed time. Time they didn’t have. Though whit his son’s fighting skills he would still be a danger regardless should he have a trauma attack that seemed real. “For real, I think you need to be able to defend yourself, but try and only use it as a last resort and you know for certain what you see around you is real,” it was a gentle reminder but one he had a feeling Kosmo himself knew. “I know you won’t,” he was a good kid. May not be adept in some areas of being a shadowhunters as his sisters were but he had a good heart and his fighting skills were above par. He was proud of him regardless of his skills. “Let’s see you use some of those runes again“ he suggested with a warm smile.

Astra !!
— astra knew this would result in further distrust between the shadowhunters and downworlders. and between the fae and the rest of the world. even if cirilla had nothing to do with it. she offered a sympathetic smile, “ i am sorry. i wish there was some way we could communicate with them. my children are all outside of this realm except for one, as well. ” she sighed. she nodded, “ darcy is good to have as a friend. i would also be willing to help with providing protection if you need. i’m afraid i can’t do anything for your family outside, but if there’s anything i can do here, please feel free to ask, ” astra said. astra shrugged, “ in my experience, they usually are not the instigators, and rather take the side they think will win the war. if this was fae, it was not the queen. i do not know who is pulling strings, though. as far as i know, all the queen did was bring everyone here. everything else was someone else’s doing. ” she sighed. she was just as lost as everyone else.
Francis gave a sad smile, “I’m sorry you can’t find out for yourself what is happening either. It’s painful not to be in the know, but I also know if there was a way round it someone would have found it by now.” He just wished he knew what this was all about. Francis smiled more genuinely this time as she mentioned Darcy. “She is a good friend, she’s help me and my son out during our stay here,” he was glad for it too. It would be a long road to recovery for Kosmo and his attacker was still out there. He wondered if the two were linked. He couldn’t say it wasn’t but then they were two separate crimes. “It’s more to seek guidance I guess and share knowledge. I don’t think there is a magical fix for this mess some how,” he sighed. It did make sense they were more reactionary as a race. “Naturally I think they would take the downworlders side in this which I don’t blame them for. Though what that means for us stuck in here is unknown and uncertain,” Francis wasn’t planning on anything they can’t really get answers here. He was just hoping Cassian was of the same mindset. “I feel for her all eyes are now on her and she is possibly just as clueless about all of this as we are,” to be in a position of power and no answers was not ideal. He can sympathise with that.

mclleable:
It didn’t take as long as she hoped to find at least one of them. Even as she was only looking at his backside, it was enough for her to easily recognize him. As they stood only a few feet away, she could feel some sort of a magnetic pull towards him, and her heart racing. Whether it was from nerves or anticipation, she couldn’t tell. Silvia pulled her hood closer over her head, moving behind Fransisco and giving him a light push to get his attention.
“Pinche viejo mugroso.” Her body tensed as she waited for her husband to turn, unable to help the tears that began prickling her hazel hues. She balled her hands into fists, feeling a knot in her throat. “You had me worried sick.” Silvia clenched her jaw, attempting her best at not letting her voice crack. “Estas bien?”
@prctectcrreyes
Francis had decided along with Cassian (he was surprised that they actually agreed on something) that patrols were necessary. So he was out and about surrounding the institute. If someone came by they would talk first. They didn’t want the war spilling into here but they did need to make sure that others wouldn’t use this as an advantage to pick on shadowhunters because they can. Those that had no intentions of doing so they wouldn’t harm.
He was deep in his thoughts about all of this. So he was probably only doing a half assed job which wasn’t like him. He felt a push wondering if Cassian or one of the others had caught him and he then heard the voice that followed and he turned immediately. His dark eyes meeting with hers. His light, his everything, his soulmate. “Querida,” he called out and immediately hugged her. “Lo siento, but I found out son. He is here like I hoped,” but he was damaged. “Si, bien, y tú?” He asked back. “We have a lot to catch up on. How are the girls?”he asked. Hoping none had been in Alicante when it was destroyed.

Lavinia !!
“I heard about that,” she sighed. Placing a blanket on the cold ground, seeing as it had gotten colder lately, she got herself into a comfy position, ready to listen to the small waves crashing against the shore or just watch her surroundings a little bit. “Mhm,” she responded to the man’s question, smiling in gratitude that he apologized. “It’s okay, nothing unusual to be honest since I’m here.” Lavinia told him, “That makes two of us actually, although, I’m honestly just bored and clueless about what is happening so that’s me only complaining.” A drink she would never decline, so she reached for the bottle, “Thank you. I’m Lavinia — just so you don’t share your drinks with strangers.”
Francis sighed the uncertainty of his family how everyone n here was going to react. He didn’t have enemies in here. Other than perhaps the inquisitor himself, but they were in a similar boat. This could be self sabotage though. This could be the circle wanting to spark something from their own kind and grab more to their cause. He couldn’t discount that either. “You’ve been getting cold receptions from everyone?” He hoped not. The mood was sour to be fair. Everyone was upset about something going on. “Not the best time to arrive,” he sighed. “Francisco and usually not opposed to be honest. It’s a good way of meeting others that may broaden your horizons,” he told her.

pniik:
( @dihstarters )
SO CAUGHT UP WITH FINALLY BEING PERMITTED ON EARTH … & with a new purpose , no less , pik hadn’t seemed to get the worldwide memo until they were in the thick of it . unlike most , the late angel had been preoccupied with other matters rather than what had been going on around them . for instance , they’d only known freedom for a short while before being dragged into the seelie realm , then getting lost in its very own wander woods though their demeanor rayed optimism , regardless , as they were just glad they were no longer in heaven . they found themselves in the library today , sitting with an old , dusty book in their hands & a smile on their face . they leaned forward in their chair , causing a creak to echo their immediate area , before they stood & orbed to a nearby bookshelf . they placed the book they’d been reading back before swiftly going to grab one more … only to realize another had already been reaching for it . ❛ oh ! s-sorry … ❜ they stammered , quickly taking their hand back . ❛ i didn’t see you . were you … goin’ for that one too ? ❜
Francis does read books now and then, but he was usually more the fighter and Silvia had the brains. She wasn’t here now and he has felt that more then ever these last few days. So he decided to hit the books and look up certain things. Fae history was one of them and as soon as he reached out a person appeared next to him, his hand retracted as the whitelighter went for the book. He looked to them a bit confused and furrowed their brow. He had heard of whitelighters, but he had never actually come across one. The orbing was a bit of a shock to him. “It’s fine there are other books I can look into,” he reassured him. “New to the realm?” he asked. “Not seen your face before,” he commented. Though they could have been lost in the woods and only managed to make it here now. The wander woods did live up to their name.

Kosmo !!
As wonderfully as that morning started out as, the day had turned into a fucking nightmare in just a couple of seconds. After the news broke, Kosmo couldn’t stay with Vala, and he rushed back to the cottage he and his dad were staying at, however he couldn’t bring himself to talk about it just yet. How could he? He couldn’t even imagine Alicante being gone. If anything should happen, the city in Idris would’ve been the last thing to keep them safe. At least that’s what he thought. It was the safest place for any shadowhunter. And so many friends… family, perhaps, were now gone. It must’ve been utter chaos at home. It all made Kosmo so nervous, that even as his stomach grumbled while he stood outside in the garden, the thought of any sort of food was making him feel like throwing up. Anxiety mixed with the hangover he had was making him miserable. So when he saw his father walking up to him, he clenched his fists tighly, and then let go just as he spoke. “Hey.” He tucked his hands into the pockets of his jacket, shoulders coming up into a shrug. “I dunno… pretty rough, I guess.” He looked down at his feet. “I just feel so… powerless. I want to help.”
“I’m not surprised you are feeling a bit rough,” he replied his words trying to reflect some mild amusement but with how he was feeling, it was only there subtly. He didn’t fail to notice the amount of drinks his son was having but as long as no harm was being done (and he looked like he was enjoying himself then) he was not going to be that overbearing father. Kosmo was an adult now and also he was pretty much the same at his age. Which has lead to very stupid decisions but that was what those years were there for. To teach you what you can and cannot handle. “Unfortunately we are at a massive disadvantage. I would like to hope that those are stuck with us are not in the same mindset as whoever orchestrated this. I feel most of them won’t be,” but it was the ones that will be he was concerned about. He reached in his pocket and took out his son’s stele. “I would much rather you be able to defend yourself if you need to,” he told him handing it to him.

Lavinia !!
“Okay…” her eyes were fixated on the weapon in his hand. She could eventually defend herself, in case, yes. But she was not really out for a fight and doubted that he was either. “I’m sure that if I was going to attack you, you could get that thing just as swiftly back so… would you mind putting it away?” She kind of understood that people were tense and everything. But she had absolutely no will right now to be cautious. Lavinia just wanted to spend another day at the lake because… what else was she supposed to do, right? Without waiting for an answer, she sat down quite far enough that he wouldn’t need the stele in that minute even if she was going to be threatening.
Francis put the stele away. “Sorry it’s just been one hell of a week,” he confessed. He hated feeling like this. He would rather just talk than go on the offensive first. Yet since the attack on Idris and no real definitive answer who was behind it it made him on edge. The attack on his son also came back to mind. Was it the same person or was this something else. Seems like the realm he thought was potentially dangerous was actually dangerous. Who would have thought. He then realised the girl that was not a face he recognised. “Ah, you’re new as well,” he sighed in an annoyed tone which was only directed at himself. “I’m sorry for the lack of a warm welcome. Just had a lot of bad luck since arriving at this place. Drink?” he offered the bottle to the other.
