BTS photo of our awesome set Art Department made for us. This was for a practical/special effects shot, we recreated the interior floor outside and mimicked the lighting. This was all done efficiently and worked out great. We had a blast filming a narrative short this past weekend. Super awesome cast, crew, and location. The script has a strong metaphysical influence so I'm extra thankful that I was the DP on this project. I'm so excited to be back in the narrative world. (at Ft. Worth, Texas)

Man..... we had such a great 4 day shoot this weekend for the narrative short "The Dendrite"! Our crew was phenomenal!!! Set location gorgeous perfect for the script. And the script was a really amazing metaphysical highly visual story. Super grateful and excited that I got to DP this continue to grow my skills in the process. Just found a screen grab from a Life Style piece I shot back in April for CBS's online travel series. Pretty fast paced days with a lot of curve balls such as pouring down rain and we had like 4 or 5 locations in a 1 day shoot. Had to light each set in like 5 mins. Pretty Wild seeing my shots on Netflix for the first time. I'm super stoked and grateful. I shot the super bowl slo motion shots at the last 17 minutes of the film. Gaga: Five Foot Two is a must see doc. It's a closer look into Gagas life leading up to her dream of performing at the super bowl. Shooting a feature Doc solo (for the first two weeks until my Asian got there) on a RED on a cross country was so much fun and also a lot of work! Labor of love, and I would do if all over again. In addition to filming any moments from wake up time till sleep time I had to transfer cards through out the day and charge batteries. So I limited access to power so anytime I found an outlet I would have to very quickly and efficiently set up my charging and transfer station. Electrical outlets were scarce at times. To make me on my toes a little bit more I had only 4-128 gb cards for the red which are about 30 mins each of record time at normal speed . And then I had 6-slim batteries which are about 30 minutes each. So I was juggling all day. In addition I was the director/DP so I was already on the look out for te coverage and story components we need to tell the story. As well as ask questions for the interviews and light them when needed. I also went back and forth from hand held to te Gimbal I eventually got my st up time down to a few minutes. lol and at times I would bust out the electronic slider. On top of that I also had a GoPro for pic shots and interesting cahoots to use for transitions. Then we got a drone so I could get aerial shots. Mean while we had to gather needed gear along te 30 day tour/40 day shoot. Then when I got home I packed my bags to straight to a different shoot for one week. 48 days straight of work! It was one of the most exhilarating and incredible experiences of my life! My mind stretched if what I am capable of. Halfway through the filming trip my partner got there who was an amazing assistant to support and help out. I miss the amazing people we experienced life with on that bus. I am eager for my next crazy filming adventure as well as to finish the doc on Ecstatic dance as we still have a lot more to film over the next year.
