"Of course you may ask," Catelyn assured the young witch, "Her name’s Sansa. I have another daughter named Arya but….braid her hair at your peril” 

She offered Willow a small smile, but it faded as quickly as Willow’s own when she spoke about her Mother. She may be confessing to no more than her Mother’s reluctance to fuss with her hair, but it was evident to anyone with an ounce of sense that there was much more grief there than a neglect of hair styling. 

"I see…." Catelyn nodded; she never understood how any Mother could turn themselves away from their children, even for a moment. Why else have them? "I’m sorry….if I’ve upset you, it wasn’t my intent, I assure you"

 She briefly placed a hand upon Willow’s arm in sympathetic support, and was pleased at how bright the girl became once again on the subject of magick.

"I’m glad to hear it…..but magicks are something at which you never stop learning. Even when you’re old and grey, there shall be lessons to be learned still…” She paused, looking at Willow curiously, “Is there any magick in your family at all? It’s rare for one so young to take to it so quickly without….familial connections shall we say?”

"Unique names!” She chuckled at the mention of Arya’s dislike of braided hair. Willow personally didn’t mind wearing braids, when she had longer hair.

Willow nodded sadly, the memories still afresh in her mind--of her mother’s neglect throughout her life. She wished that her mother might be more like Buffy’s, easy to talk to and always present.

“Its--it’s alright... And you weren’t to know, how could you?”

She smiled, upon feeling Catelyn’s comforting hand on her arm.  

“I know...there is so much to learn, I’ve been reading up on spells too. I don’t think so--I’m the only one as far as I know.”.

She wondered whether she should tell Catelyn, of her spell to re-ensoul Angel.

"Ooh, true, good point. Pretty diabolical plan, Buff...! Think they're arguing with each other right 'bout now?"

"I could ask them, but where is the fun in that? I’m going to wait and watch them squirm."

"I was visiting Rack, of course. You remember him, don't you?"

Willow vaguely remembered in the back of her mind, the last time she had been here, with Dawn.

"Go where? Home?"

"Willow—-.What’s going on?"

No—- she wouldn’t have? Not again. Dawn briefly remembered that place last time. Quickly trying to get rid of the memory. Trying to destroy it. She had to help Willow—- but how? How could she help? They all missed Tara, but none missed her as much as  Willow. The coal eyes, scared her slightly. "Willow—- we need to go."

"Okay, I get the message. Why are you here, then? Come to see Buffy?"

"Well if you’d be so kind as to do that improving far away from me that’d be great."

"Yeah…the Potentials are getting better at fighting, though, against vampires—especially after their powers got activated."

"Well, Buff and Faith have been trainin’ longer in the slayer-age business.”

She sat down beside him on the bench. 

Willow nods; she sensed that may have been another factor on why Spike felt so strongly on this debate.

”Can definitely see the similarities, I gotta say. But, you seem smarter than the average caveman.”

"Hey Red you're the brainy type. Would you tell that ponce Angel that cavemen could so beat astronauts f'r me? He'd listen t'you. You're far smarter than his hair gel coated brain c'n handle."

"…Spike. I have to agree with Angel that astronauts trumps cavemen. I mean they get to see planets close-up! And cavemen, well…”

She had flashbacks of when the beer had turned all these clever college men and Buffy into simple-minded cavemen.

"Or-or, are you talking about, if they fight against each other?"

"Red... there's this spell I've heard of. I think it could help."

"What kinda spell is it…?"

"True...both are iconic characters."

"You mean, to fight against?! I don't know, Xan--they're both super strong. But if I had to choose?  Xenomorphs, I guess. They're kinda similar to some of the creatures that come out of the Hellmouth, and all together with Buffy, we may be able to take it down." 

"Honestly? The reason I asked is because they’re both just that awesome. Who doesn’t like a female lead against the world? Or aliens? Or murderous cyborgs with programmed vendettas? I don’t know, Will, how about I rephrase it? Would you rather take on a xenomorph or a terminator?”
