He runs a finger over his eye. Once, twice, three times over. He pulls it away with a click of his tongue, left to gaze at the crack running down it. There's a matching one on his right cheek. He does not know when he first got them, but if he were to hazard a guess, it would be when he was on the planet he had been hiding out on.

One wrong step and the next thing he knows, he's tumbled down a waterfall and landed right onto a pointy rock. His gemstone must have hit the ground pretty hard once his form dissipated. To some extent, Bronze Pearl is at least grateful they're relatively small.

Doesn't mean he has to exactly like them though.

-This latest line of Pearls are unique, being holograms powered by the harvested gemstones of pre-existing Pearls. It is a form of harvesting, albeit slightly modified for this purpose.

-Their personalities are extremely reeled back, being perfectly polite and placid no matter the situation.

-This lack of expression is not limited, affecting their voices as well. Their tones are almost always perfectly polite and chipper, much like their personalities.

-This also applies to expressions. They're incredibly limited, often only smiling. It's quite eerie to a Gem that isn't used to the Model 3 line.

-All of these aspects of the Model 3 line is intentional, as part of the program's attempt to have the 3.0 line match up to the standards of what a Pearl "should" be. They are effectively, robots built to match these standards. (In a sense.)

-The holograms take on the appearance of the Pearls powering them, albeit simplified. (Think Holo-Pearl but also the holograms at the Reef.)

-They still retain the ability to store items and project things due to having an actual gemstone somewhere on their person. Their forms are also a bit more solid, as they wouldn't be able to grab things on touch anything else otherwise.

-These prototypes are usually touted for their improvements on the previous line of Pearls. Namely in being Pearls without dealing with the actual hassles a Pearl might have. Like having thoughts... and emotions.... (Homeworld sucks but we all kind of know that.)

Taking place during the Gem War but not on Earth. The Renegade Pearl sent shockwaves through Homeworld and its colonies. After all if one Pearl can take up a weapon and fight back against the purpose they were created for, couldn't the rest of them follow suit if they wanted to?

Homeworld, in its haste, decided this could not happen again. The creation of Pearls would carry on but they would be made better. But issues with resources beginning to creep in and not wanting to waste them on creating more Pearls, a decision was made. If creating new Pearls was to be an issue, then why not use the Pearls already available to do so?

And so, a program was put together. Any Gem dealing with a particularly problematic Pearl could volunteer their Pearl for this project. (Or alternately volunteer them for the hell of it.) Send over their Pearls to Homeworld's best and brightest and in turn, their Pearl would return good as new as part of the new 3.0 line.

Perfect, one could say. Exactly as intended.

He opens his mouth as if to say something. Eyebrows furrowing and the corners of his mouth turning down into a frown as he mumbles out a "Yes.". Before he knows it he's back on his feet, shaking off the small jolts pain running through his hand. He had always heard Quartzes had a strong grip. Hurts just as much as he thought it would.

He tugs at a sleeve, posture straightening as he tries to play the part of cool and collected. The nervous twitches of his fingers likely say otherwise. Then again, how can he not be nervous when he's been given free reign to do whatever he wanted?

"Kind of.", Pearl says, his arms dropping to his sides. "I was way in the back of the group when we were being told about the rules, I didn't hear much."

Jasper was just going about her business, heading from the arena after watching PJ's latest bout. Her little jade buddy was getting better with each match and made her proud. But anyway, she was going about her business, about to head off to the space sport after the match when Thud, some poor smaller gem thudded right against her. They even manage to make her sunglasses go askew.

She was just about to apologize for the mishap when the gem, a brown-bronzey hued pearl, first started to yell at her for some reason, then upon seeing how big she was. (Which was pretty big for even Jaspers, though not as much of a unit as the Legendary Jasper.) started apologizing. Dang, he made even Hess-ryope (Pyronite? how would she describe the old leader.) look less dual toned. Adjusting the glasses, Jasper grinned, it looked more assholeish then she should have. But their words would fix it right?

"Hey, woah. It's alright there. I'm not gonna crack your gem or anything. you alright?"

She chuckled in a good natured manner before offering her hand to the pearl. Not having too much against him. "I'm Jasper T3C, or just Jas is ya feel like it. Welcome to the colony. You been given the low-down?"

Oof! Pearl is sent stumbling back, having made impact with some poor Gem while trying to navigate the chaos that is a busy colony.

"Would you watch where you're going?!", he snapped. While he was the type to hold his tongue and keep his head low, for the sake of staying out of trouble, there are times where frustration wins out. His aggravation in this case, is quite pointless, seeing as he was the one to bump into the other first. Something that doesn't quite click into his mind and he realizes he's just bumped into a Jasper twice his size.

"What I mean to say is-", words tripping over his tongue and eyes as wide as plates. How embarrassing! "I'm sorry?"
