After much research into the Brother Grimm’s stories I found that the tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs related to the Fritzl account the most.
Snow White has seven dwarfs whilst Fritzl forced his daughter to bore seven children.
One of the dwarfs is called Dopey and isnt included much within the story, Elisabeth had a son to Fritzl called Micheal who died as a new born.
Snow white was enchanted by the evil queen who tricked her into pricking her finger with a needle which contained a sleeping curse while Fritzl used an Ether soaked rag to put his daughter to sleep whilst he barricaded her into the dungeon.
True loves kiss broke the sleeping spell for Snow White whilst the sickness of her ill daughter pushed Elisabeth into begging Fritzl to take her to the hospital where she was able to be released from the prison that her father had created.

Another article this time there is a video included.
It mentions that Fritzl forced his daughter Elisabeth to have 7 children with him in his basement, whilst the mother lived upstairs unaware.

The Fritzl account.
I was inspired to chose the Fritzl account towards my project after a discussion to better my brief with Alan. He had mentioned that he and Colette had recently watched a documentary about the man. This inspired me to dig a little further and i found a selection of articles all detailing the events but in very different ways. I have included a selection to decipher the evidence required to related to one of the Brothers Grimm tales or to relate to a Folklore tale of some sorts.

I took inspiration from the Brothers Grimm’s Tales to loosely base my project theme around. I wanted to emphasis the feeling of displacement one tends to grasp when indulging in a graphic story tale or folklore tale. I also adored the way they sourced the details of the stories through local disasters and murders which took place around them at that time. I want to carry this aspect into my own project by collecting crime files which are household know stories and cross examine the finer details with the previously written, well know story tales to see if i can find any resemblance or relationship between the colliding stories.

Theme: 2.1: Home & Displacement Home is a personal and yet universal concept. Whether it is a building, a community, a group of people or a country, the idea of home connects all of us. But home can also provoke feelings of loss, nostalgia, homesickness, and isolation. In an age of international travel and intercontinental trade, leaving home has become more common and even expected in many communities. You may explore feelings of community, commonality, and belonging to a home; as well as dislocation, distance and isolation from the idea of home in today’s increasingly global, migratory society.

Final piece for Memory extension, 3D project. I am very content the with outcome of my final as I had never used this technique previously and I am quite shocked with how well it has turned out. I love the accidental geometry that stems from the centre face and spreads im symmetry across the board.

I then continued to thread the yarn in linear motions until the nails could not bare any more coverage. I then began to cross stitch around the edgings of the mouth, nostrils and eye sockets to ensure strength and security for the surrounding threads.

I started by roughly sketching out where the eye sockets would be, then the nostrils and the mouth. Once penciled in I used small nails to make the curvatures of the detailing, this ensured that the linear drawing wasn't distorted and the lines would curve around the detailing only. I then fixed nails to the border of the frame and began to geometrically attach the thread spiraling from the centre to the edging of the mdf board.

Memory 3D Project Extension.
I decided to edit some of the photos from my phone using a mobile app called Toolwiz, It helped me to create painting-like effects using a tool called Wood Block Printing, i also altered the contrast and colour schemes. The last one is my favourite as the colour scheme bleeds really well throughout the entire image whilst still containing so much linear details.
