10 years ago, blood was in the sand. I remember the JTAC screaming on the radio. The moments of gunfire and chaos and the moments of haunting silence. Seeing faces in green. Not able to make out their expressions, but not needing to. The feelings were universal. The anger. The pain. Wanting to rip another human in half. Keeping your head in the game while feeling every emotion trying to slip.
Another moment in life I can’t change. Another moment in life I’m still stuck in all these years later.
Rest easy.
