First off, anon behind the mothers and daughters idea here, sorry for bringing that one up.

As an apology, here's a new idea: pregnant zombie apocalypse, where the infected carry huge bellies full of slime that they try to infect others with...

The slime trigger a very specific hormonal response in their host. One, they become very maternal over their belly, sometimes violently defensive if there's a threat in order to protect the slime. Two, their bellies and the slime churning inside create a very pleasurable response. And third, they develop and instinctual urge to infect anyone who is not carrying the slime. Its an insatiable lust on sight, and any genital contact becomes a transmission of the infection.

Development of the slime in an infected body can happen in a matter of minutes, hours, or even days depending on the host. No matter how fierce they fight back against the infection prior, once they sport the iconic glowing green belly they insist its the greatest thing to ever happen to them, and you should experience it as well.

The slime turns the host's body into an endless incubator, constantly laying eggs for the initial stages of the slime's life cycle. The slime is considered a massive threat because the hosts cannot reproduce after infection, and takeover of the species by the slime ultimately wipes it out.
