I suppose it’s stupid that I’m still planning on picking up Pokémon Legends ZA even though I’m almost positive I’m going to hate the combat and may end up having a miserable experience.

Everything about the previews seem to confirm my fears. If these games had better accessibility features and difficulty options I’d be less worried. But they usually don’t.

You do have to run around stupidly all over the place to control the movement of your Pokémon, even though that is not how it’s supposed to work. I just feel like every encounter is going to be a hectic mess. The whole concept of being able to sneak attack before a battle, I also hate. Everything on a cooldown including health potions is also going to make things very difficult. Legends Arceus was great except I hated the boss battles. I thought it was really unfun and needlessly difficult. The frame rate was the real enemy there, but if you introduce a system where your character can take damage, it makes no sense to not also include a way to restore health. I got through them OK, but my best friend who plays a lot of turn based games and loves Pokémon had a tremendously difficult time with Arceus. I have a feeling they’re gonna absolutely hate this game. Fighting Megas, the pokemon aim their attacks at you instead of your team. If you can’t freely heal your trainer during a boss battle and they’re not gonna introduce difficulty levels, this is gonna suck for some players. Idk.

Legends ZA is going to be the most difficult and least accessible Pokemon game to date, and potentially very hard for players with slow reaction times and mobility issues.

SNAPDEX: DAY 18 | DEX 153

i spent longer on todays entry, about an hour. ive also decided, after a friend suggested i name this series, to call it 'snapdex', because pokemon snap was the first pokemon game i ever played when i was 7.

i wont be able to draw much today, im serving as a witness at court.... honestly im kind of sad about it, so i tried to draw bayleef to cheer up. its one of my favorite pokemon, if i had one in real life i think it'd be my best friend. i want to take it shopping and to bakeries and cafes.
