god bless mumbo life series. i'd say "he's here for a good time not a long time" but i'm not fully convinced he's here for a good time either. he's here to panic for like five episodes, try really hard to lava and/or explode people, and then die and go "huh well that was all rather a lot wasn't it. maybe i was a bit over my head and shouldn't do that" and then do it all again the exact same way the next time. no one is doing it like him because why on earth would you do it like him. 10/10 no notes,

He is so incredibly scared you guys. He is scared of everyone and everything including himself and he hates being here. From the get go he is in a state of fight or flight, he pushes his allies away in case they betray him, and the moment he is allowed to kill he lunges at anything that moves so it can’t get him first. His POV is a psychological horror story where he is both victim and monster.

You don’t need to make angst out of it because the angst is already there

While Mumbo is starving to death Grian is trying so hard to get Mumbo to calm down and trust him, let him fix it, let him keep Mumbo from getting hurt again. Too bad Mumbo never left that hillside outside the southlands, hearing “get back here” from Grian, only to turn around and get met with Grian’s blade
