you would deny me my life.
and like its just that if you think about it hannibal already denied will his life. he denied will a life of normalcy. you can say will chose that life, or you can say hannibal made it the only choice.
not your life.
i think when will looks at hannibal - at least at this point in the show - he sees a monster but he also sees the life he couldve had. he cant deny hannibal his life because that would be denying himself of another life.
my freedom, then. youd take that from me. confine me to a basement cell. do you believe you could change me the way ive changed you?
i think you could argue that hannibal sees his freedom as equivalent to his life. he loses everything important to him. namely will. locked in that basement cell would he ever see will again? then you think about the "do you believe you could change me the way ive changed you?" and it is so glaringly obvious that hannibal was looking to change will like this the whole time. and maybe that wording is a little extra interesting because of how, later in the show, they will use changed to mean killed. maybe hannibal kills the will that previously inhabited his body and raised a new one.
i already have.
because will shows hannibal a side of himself that he didnt know was still there. cause like they both didnt know how lonely they were until they met each other.
hannibal studies will a moment, realizing hes right.
hannibal was so focused on molding will into the killer he wanted that he didnt, until now, realize just how much will had changed him. he didnt think anyone had the capability.
fate and circumstance has returned us to the moment the teacup shatters. i forgive you, will.
hannibal cant go back in time, and he cant stop the teacup from shattering. all he can do is forgive and hope will forgives back.

idk man everyone always talks about the “is hannibal… in love… with me?” scene from the lens of like,,, a teenager with an obvious crush,, but there’s so much horror in that scene, too. the dawning realization that a man like that can love and that will is the one he loves. the pain of being wholly beloved and understood by someone who only burns, who consumes even as he creates. the inescapable knowledge that what they had was real; that hannibal’s cruelty was motivated in part by heartbreak. idk

the absolute funniest plot of nbc hannibal is the fact that the fbi is looking for a serial killer that is highly skilled in evading the police and has been killing for decades in multiple countries, and then they hired a guy who showed up to work like this every day to catch him.

it’s over, how did we let this happen? how are people so blind and ignorant to the blaring warning signs in front of them?
if you voted third party because it was “morally better”, i do not respect you.
if you did not vote, i do not respect you.
if you voted for trump, i do not respect you.
kamala harris was supposed to be a stepping stone for a better future. america and the rest of the world will be forever changed by this election and it will not be for the better.

anyway my hot take is that the modern night-of live reporting model is bad and probably should be illegal. democracy is not a spectator sport and the fact that news outlets are allowed to exploit partial vote counts for ratings is ghoulish. there is nothing you can learn the night of a major election that has greater value than waiting the several days to a week that it will take, and always has taken, for the final vote totals to be established

i mean this in the meanest way possible, if you as a leftist, in an attempt to 'punish' the democrats, either didn't vote or voted for a third party, go fuck yourself. you chose your own self righteousness over actually doing good.

btw functionally for the US election today you are not picking your "hero" or whatever you are picking your opponent for the next four years because all presidents are bastards and they oppose the working class. you are simply selecting the one you can get the most ground on. this really helped reframe some stuff for me, hope this helps
