If I had a nickle for every time I've been part of a fandom or read something where a mundane human object caused a strong reaction in certain parts of the fandom because an alien species use of that item or name for that item for a form of procreation, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice right?

Doctor Who is literally the curse that haunts me across all media.
I was watching a completely unrelated video about V for Vendetta, when it casually dropped that David Lloyd met Alan Moore while they were working on Doctor Who comics for Marvel UK.
Unrelated but equally unhinged: the video also informed me that Alan Moore practices magic, the occult, and worships a snake god with hair. And honestly? That tracks.
(here's the link to the video, it's a video talking about what was included vs left out in the adaptation.)

Just saying, doing a crossword together is a fun autistic friend group bonding exercise.
Though maybe don't do what mine does and choose me, the dyslexic, to do the actual filling out of the crossword.
If you want to go insane, do a Canadian one, as Canada switches between both British and American spellings. And also occasionally requires you to know french. (We do the Globe and Mail one)

No you have no idea what this means to me. One of my earliest memories, and first memory of going to a theatre in person, was going to see Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in theaters with my dad.
This brought me joy today.

river’s intro. scene in “the time of angels” is iconic for so many reasons—her power walk in red heels, winking at the camera, elegantly flying through space knowing the Doctor will catch her—but none more incredible than the bts fact that alex kingston accidentally kneed matt smith in the balls when she landed on top of him awjwkqkkqdjs.

.....Try not to get carried away with the apps, you don’t need to download comics from the future, or anything.’ She ended by apologising for not coming with him. ‘Don’t be cross, I have a date. Well, not a date, a job. The Felman Lux Corporation want me to go and unseal some giant library somewhere. “Get a Kindle,” I told them, but they kept asking and it might be fun. I’ll buzz you on the psychic paper if anything kicks off. Unless that’s all already happened for you. Spoilers!’ she signed off, and he imagined her saying it. Then he sat on the TARDIS floor, leaning his back against the console and spent an hour resisting the brandy in the cabinet.
->The Day of the Doctor (novelisation)
You know what Doctor? I'm having very similar temptation reading this section of the book.

‘Thanks, River, I owe you,’ he said. And in return, he thought, I’ll make sure I never see you again, so maybe there’s a chance you’ll live happily ever after. And then he frowned, because there was a bottle of champagne rattling in an ice bucket, which definitely hadn’t been sitting on the side of the bath a moment ago. ‘I was hoping,’ said River, reaching for the bottle, ‘that you might stay just a little longer.’ There was a sound like a pistol shot, and a cork shaved past his ear. He sighed, partly because she always did that, but also because River Song always insisted on looking so alive.

Hey book? I think shooting me in the face would have a better outcome on my health those words.

‘All the information you need is already in the TARDIS databank.’ ‘No, it isn’t!’ ‘Yes, it is, I uploaded it myself before I got in the bath.’ ‘Well, why didn’t you tell me?’ ‘I suppose I was hoping you might take your coat off.’ He was already climbing out of the water. ‘Thanks, River, I owe you,’
->The Day of the Doctor (novelisation)
Good try River, but you married a weird gremlin in the vague shape of a person, so of course that wasn't going to work.

‘Is the water warm enough, by the way?’ ‘Yeah, lovely and warm, thanks.’ ‘Oh good! Maybe you could slip off your suit then?’ ‘No, no, I’m fine.’ ‘Or even your shoes.’ ‘I can’t, my toes prune.’ ‘How about your coat?’ ‘I’m always worried I’ll leave it behind somewhere.’ ‘One lives in hope,’
->The Day of the Doctor (novelisation) I'll be filing "takes baths fully clothed" along side "brushes teeth for fun because they like the texture" in the 10 is a freak database.

‘Well I hope I’ve managed to settle your mind on that point,’ said River Song from the other end of the bath.
