YUI!
SHE! IS! SO! CUTE! HER NAME IS YUI AND SHE’S ADORABLE! She’s what’s called a ‘Popplio’ (even her species name is cute!!) - a water-type with appearance similar to that of a Seel, but blue! Damien chose to start his journey from scratch in Alola so he got a starter too! He went for Rowlet - a cute little grass-type hoothoot-esk pokemon! He wasn’t going to nickname any of his pokemon at first, but I managed to convince him otherwise (with a bit of help from the Professor and Kahuna Hala that is). And thus, begrudgingly, Damien’s Rowlet was named Koro
There’s no stores in Iki town, so Damien showed me to Hau’oli City and gave me the full tour - he even waited for me while I picked out some new clothes! They had a sale on some apparently “defect” tops that had been made “too long”, so of course they were perfect for me! I ended up choosing the Alola Sea ‘Dress’ and a pair of navy blue casual shorts to go underneath! (Although I did buy a bunch of extra clothes, just in case!) Yui and Koro both gave clear signs of approval, and Damien… well he was probably bored out of his mind so he only gave a quick nod before picking up the bags of my other clothes. Maybe he didn’t know what to say when a dude wears a dress?
It was a slow walk back to Damien’s house, but it was nice since we got to let Yui and Koro have some fresh air. I may have got my starter today, but we don’t start out Island Challenge for another few days, so I have plenty of time to get back into battling, Damien even offered to re-teach me the basics! Ah, Katiya just called us for dinner, alola for now!

Damien
Either Katiya was wrong about when her son was coming home, or I severely overslept… I probably overslept. Not that it makes a difference, Damien didn’t need to yell so loud when he saw me in his bed, it’s not like he was using it.
Other than the yelling, he seems nice enough though, he lent me some of his clothes since mine aren’t really suited to the weather. Katiya said that she’d make sure Damien showed me to the clothes store in Hau’oli city after we got our pokemon tomorrow.
I offered Damien his bed back since I wasn’t supposed to be staying here anyway, but he was adamant that he sleep on the couch downstairs for some reason… Oh well, this bed is super comfy so I’m not complaining. Alola again, until tomorrow.

My New Home
When they said I’d be staying at Professor Kukui’s for a while I was kind of expecting a house or a lab, and not a… hut? It looks like a hut at least. Apparently I was supposed to be staying in the attic area but the portion of the roof above it had been destroyed by one of the Professor's tests.
Fortunately a lady who lives nearby was kind enough to let me stay with her until I started the Island Challenge. Her name’s Katiya, and she said she’d anticipated that something like this would happen, and that it wasn’t a problem since her son was going to be starting his soon as well, and he was around the same age as me. Apparently he’d gone to a school in the Hoenn region for most of his life, hence why he hadn’t done the challenge yet despite being 18.
Her house was only a few minutes walk away, and she gave me enough repels so I wouldn’t get jumped by any wild pokemon. When we arrived, we were greeted by her Meowth - not the alolan form mind, the kind of meowth find in other regions. He greeted me like we’d met before, rubbing his cheeks against my legs, it was… nice. She set about making dinner and told me to make myself comfortable in her son's room - he wasn’t due back until tomorrow morning, so he shouldn’t mind too much if I used his bed for a night.
The room’s quite spacious, there’s still some boxes stacked up, but everything is very neat, I wonder what kind of a trainer this guy is… maybe a steel or ice type specialist? This bed is comfy, a single with grey covers, and a stack of 4 pillows. I didn’t bring any of the pokemon I had with me when I came to in Kalos, so I guess I’ll use one of them as a replacement. I may not remember their names, or how I got any of them, but they still remembered me and kept me company at night. Maybe they hoped I would wake up and remember if they did it?
Ugh, I need to stop thinking about it, I get a headache every time I try to remember things from before I woke up. Katiya just called, dinner’s ready, I guess this is a good a time as any to end of for today, Alola for now!

First log of Alola
‘Things I Remember:
My name is Lucas.
I’m 17 years old.
I have amnesia.’
As infuriating as it is, that’s all I’ve been able to put together over the past month. My parents have shown me pictures of me with my friends, my pokemon, but I remember none of it.
The stress has been too much on me, so the doctor suggested a change of pace, and if worse comes to worse, a new region would allow for a new start for me. At first my parents were against it, thinking I’d gain my memories back in no time if my friends helped out but. Nothing.
In the end though, they relented.
I’m still on the boat while writing this, but from the sounds of things, we’ll be landing on Melemele Island soon. I’ll be staying with Professor Kukui on the island for a week before I leave on the ‘Island Challenge’. From what I read, it’s like how other regions have gyms, but... not? The only time you battle set people is the ‘Kahuna’ from each island.
Ah, they just announced we’re allowed to get off the boat, I suppose I’ll leave it at that for now...
