Alani looked kindly to the gal who also dyed her hair strange colors. "I get what you mean. Girls are very pretty."

Alani's grin grew big. "If you are hungry, there is one Alolan food that you gotta try. Malasada! It comes with five different flavor varieties and it's custom to share with your pokemon to deepen your bond with them! There is a place in the city that they sell them! One sec."

Her Rotom phone flew out before Alani. "Rotom could you send a message in the group chat that I'm accompanying someone?" The device sent and Alani gave a thumbs up before it flew back into her bag. "So useful, follow me! I'll show you a good place to camp after. I know a place from back when I was a kid."

"Ph! Like how the professor is studying the application of pokemon moves! I've never seen a shiny pokemon though." She leaned in to look at the Litten without getting too uncomfortably close. "It is quite unique looking. I wonder how it will look as it evolves..."

She clapped her hands together. "Not only are there nice places to camp, but there is a small motel and the pokemon center always has space for those who need it. I can lead you to any of those if you like. Which would you prefer?"

Alani just side eying fairy types thinking "I think the fuck not, how dare a baby be super effective against my dragons".

Alani raised an eyebrow. "Oh! You must be a tourist. Let me explain. So for the safety of those going around the island, we prevent unprepared people from going into places where pokemon may jump at them and they can't handle it. For those taking the island challenge, they gain access as they go. But Tourists or other locals either use a pass or trainer card to show they can handle it. You can also go with another person with a pass."

She pointed back at her Drampa. "We can come with you if you like. It's my job to help. I can radio someone to take my spot here."

Alani had a soft smile as she listened. "Most see dragon types as wild and savage. They don't see the good. They are strong guardians and push you to show the same strength they have. I know more than anyone being surrounded by them." She gave Drampa and affectionate pat on top it's big ol' face. "It is hard for something so big and strong to be gentle, yet they can do it. They are steadfast and honest friends."

Alani laughed, joining everyone at the table with her own plate. "You definitely got the typical of the species. Fighting Garchomp definitely helped with it's development. Having a goal with a strong opponent most likely drove it forward to become strong itself. Super important not just physically, but socially."

Alani looked delightfully surprised at that last bit. "Oh! You have a Kommo-o? I knew about Garchomp, but I didn't know you had one of those. We have a powerful Kommo-o back how who is the Totem Pokemon of the trial on Poni Island. Some say it is the strongest Totem Pokemon in Alola."

The islander chuckled as she brought another stack. "Well you were so nice to hire me. Besides, pancakes are pretty popular back home. The Pikachu love it. They say that them eating it causes their change in their evolution form. Jangmo-o loves the wide open space so I let him run about. I made sure to remind him not to start fights of course."

Alani nodded. "Lot's of people have their favorites, though I gotta admit my family had a big influence on mine. My first pokemon was a dragon type. A Drampa actually. One of the more friendly kinds, specially to kids even if they are a bit rarer. Though I'm told pokemon of all types are different in looks and personality in Alola than in other regions."

She grinned at the assessment of dragon types. "I think the competitive nature is natural for dragon types. They are weak to their own type, so they combat to prove they can overcome their weaknesses. It's actually pretty common for many dragon specialists to train in unfavorable conditions in order to gain more strength. Jangmo-o tends to like it. He likes overcoming challenges and proving his strength."

She signaled it was okay for the little dragon to sniff at and investigate the Gogoat before continuing. "So I assume you are from Kalos? It's a nice place. Very picturesque. Alola is more natural, less developed and kept neat. We try not to disrupt things with pokemon, you know?"

"Come on out Rotom!" From her bag, the Rotomdex flew out. It floated and took pictures of the Gogoat, waving it's little arms before saying "Scan complete!" Then zoom! Back in the bag. Alani chuckled. "Such an efficient little guy. He isn't one to waste time. But he does a great job. I'll totally check out the info later."

She pet the little dragon on the head. "Jangmo-o are respected back in the Alola region. They are very brave, no matter the foe. They never turn their back, refusing to show cowardice." She grinned at that. "As a dragon type specialist, I gotta show the same or I'd never be respected. Dragon types are harder to train, but powerful as a result. Strong personalities."

Melemele Island... been a while since Alani been back to Alola. Her deep thoughts were interrupted by Drampa pushing her from behind. He wanted to help her get out of her funk. She smiled and pat his head. "It's okay buddy. We are only here for the job for half the year. I'll be fine."

She was here to work as a trial guide. She made sure the kids were safe and no one entered areas they weren't ready for. Mostly the safety part. She saw the blue haired woman approach and gave the classic Alola greeting. "Alola! I'm Alani. Passing through? Got a pass?"

Alani nodded. "So you just need a sort of grounds keeper. That sounds right up my alley. Even strong personalities are my forte. We'll discuss benefits and pay once I finish this current job." She took back the signed papers with a smile. "I'll be over tomorrow. I could get my stuff moved over in less than a week probably. It means a lot to me Miss Cynthia! I'll make sure to do my best."

"Hello!" Alani was knocking on the door of the villa. "I have a package for a Miss Cynthia from the Pokemart? I have several boxes that need signing for!"

"Oh, thank you sweetie!" Cynthia chuckled, forgetting what she had ordered or at least what she'd ordered that was expected today, signing for the packages and winking at the girl. "Are you the new odd jobber I heard about? The mart told me you'd be coming by and you were looking for work."

"Come on out Rotom!" From her bag, the Rotomdex flew out. It floated and took pictures of the Gogoat, waving it's little arms before saying "Scan complete!" Then zoom! Back in the bag. The islander put the kick stand down, Jangmo-o hopping down to stand night next to her. The Gogoat was bigger than it, but it stood proudly and fully toward it. Almost as if challenging the other pokemon to make a move.

She laughed at the dragon's actions and pet it on the head. "Just fine. Let me introduce ourselves. This is Jangmo-o. My name is Alani. We are originally from the Alola region, but we moved away." She tilted her head at Gogoat. "Never seen that pokemon before! Do you mind if I scan with with my Rotomdex? I got a National Dex upgrade not too long ago so I'm eager to try it!"

"Oh! Well thanks for welcoming me Miss President!" She paused to tie the apron on over her clothes. "I actually have two pokemon! One is pretty young, but the other I've had since I was super little. I'd be happy to have a friendly match. It's a good way to get to know people and pokemon!"

The girl put her hands up, waving them both at Nemona. "Alola! Hi! Yes, I am new. My mother moved with me here. I'm actually from the Alola region and just started at the academy today. My name is Alani. I'd love to be partners with you! The people here are so friendly to newcomers, I feel so welcome!"

Alani was already getting aprons for them. "I hope we can be friends. The little I have seen of this place is so nice! Is the whole region pretty to look at?"

She grinned as she looked up at Mela's face. "They must be really good! It goes perfectly with your hair! Do they take commissions or was it more a between friends thing... Oh! I'm being rude." She offered her hand to the red head. "Name is Alani, pleased to meet you."

Alani gasped at the sight of Mela. "Those boots are amazing! Where did you get those?!"

"Room and a job? Sounds fantastic! I actually have a lot of practice taking care of a lot of pokemon. I actually come from Alola, Poni Island to be exact. I used to help the pokemon there and maintain friendly relations with them. Small or big, I know how to hand wild and caught pokemon."

The tan woman grinned. "Besides reporting back to the manager back at the mart and packing, I could start as soon as you need me. We can discuss the job details officially if you'd like. I appreciate the help!"

"Hello!" Alani was knocking on the door of the villa. "I have a package for a Miss Cynthia from the Pokemart? I have several boxes that need signing for!"
