My second ASOIAF portrait, the tragic sisters are now a pair 😔 I gave Helaena softer features than Rhaenyra and more down-turned eyes. I like to think Rhaenyra inherited her sharper features from her mother, Aemma, while Helaena got Viserys' soft, rounded features.

She inherited her apartment from Queen Alicent upon Aegon's coronation, indicating that these drawings were illustrated within the ten days before Jaehaerys' murder.

We see what is assumed to be Rhaenyra aflame and Sunfyre crowned.

This is likely where Helaena made sense of the fate of the war, which she tells Aemond about in the season two finale.

feeling a bit sad looking at my old fanfic wips because i've 45,000 words of unfinished fanfic simply because i thought it wasn't good enough. now my interest in most of these fics has reduced significantly and i just want to finish them and publish. all because i wanted near perfection before i let them out into the world. they gathered dust and i'm breathing new life into them now, but why was i so restrained? why does it matter if they aren't perfect? i loved the idea, let it burst out of me onto the page and that's enough. i posted this on twt priv first but i wanted to bring this here to reminder everyone that:

YOUR IDEA IS GOOD ENOUGH!!!

it deserves to be shared with the world, mistakes and all. perfectionism is a prison for creativity. you'll never progress in the way you want without finishing things.
