As the head nurse reprimanded him, Krory could only bring himself to blanch somewhat in shame, despite actually having no recollection of what she said he had done. He tried his hardest to repress a relieved smile, or at least to keep it out of sight. The head nurse's scolding, scathing as it was, was familiar, felt of being home. He lowered his gaze to his hands as he felt his lower lip trembling with the start of a tearful smile. The sun was up, its light flooding his room and warming the air. Home, home, he was really home, at long last. When the head nurse left, he realized the sound filling his ears was a terribly loud growling and gurgling that... seemed to be coming from his midriff. He realized what Nurse Erica had done for him in light of the head nurse's tirade, and looked up in surprise.
"Thank you so much," he said softly, trying to keep his voice steady. "Thank you, you've already done so much for me, and I... I don't know if I could ask too much of you. Will the head nurse be upset with you later for this? I didn't mean to cause you trouble, de aru." His gaze drifted down to the tray on his lap and he took a fork in his left hand, just feeling the slight weight of it, the cool metal against his palm. "Though... if it isn't too much to ask..." he murmured, "Could you help me stand before I eat, de aru? How long has it been since I walked on my own?"
Silence and cold stone walls were Krory’s only answer for some time… after a while he could hear a door open and close, followed by routine, but purposeful footsteps clacking here and there to rifle through equipment and paperwork. And then suddenly Krory’s door opened, and the head nurse entered, absent-mindedly, carrying a chart. When she lifted her head and saw Krory awake, her eyes widened and then narrowed sternly.
"Arystar Krory! You’re awake? Who has released you? I didn’t give anyone permission to do so! That was very dangerous! Are you aware you were having wild outbursts and tore at your bandages and knocked one of my nurses to the floor?" She sighs in exasperation just as Nurse Erica enters the room carrying a tray full of pancakes and orange juice and other things that filled the room with warmth and wonderful smells. Her eyes met with those of the head nurse. "Fuchō-san…!" Erica says as she freezes in place. "I-I-.. I know this looks bad, but he’s not dangerous! He woke up and spoke to me last night!" She sets down the tray on Krory’s night stand and holds his hand to comfort him. "So he spoke to you, that gives you permission to disobey my orders?" Asked the head nurse, glaring slightly. "No, Fuchō-san. Gomen’nasai." Nurse Erica bows her head. The head nurse stands there, looking over Erica and then Krory and after what seemed like forever but was really only a minute or two, she broke her stare. "See that it never happens again." "Hai, Fuchō-san. Arigato gozaimas." Erica bows her head again as the head nurse leaves. Erica then turns to Krory and kneels by the head of his bed. "I’m so glad to see you." She says as she squeezes his hand gently with both of hers. She chatters at him happily. "Have you tried getting up yet? I’m sorry you had to see that. I said I would take care of it. Here, I brought you breakfast." She takes the tray from the night stand and carefully sets it in on Krory’s lap. The smell of fresh warm pancakes and butter and strawberry jam was overwhelming. "All of your friends will come by soon to see you. The head nurse is probably giving them permission right now." She reaches out instinctively and strokes his hair, but stops herself when she sees it startles him. "I-I’m sorry. It’s kind of a reflex.." She goes quiet for a moment as if remembering something, and then changes the subject. "What can I do for you this morning?"

He slept a dreamless sleep, but after having slept for so long in a sense of emptiness and distance, it was a welcome feeling to be vaguely aware of the warmth of a blanket or the shape of a pillow. He felt like he had only just drifted off into a comfortable sleep when he woke up again, this time to the bright glare of sunlight pouring into his infirmary room. The white blinding light was hurting his eyes, and he could not focus on anything around the room.
"Nurse Erica?" he called out, remembering her assurances from the night before. The morning was here, and though he felt as though it'd been no time since he was on the Ark, if he was only awakening now, something must surely be wrong with him. Was he crippled, too weak to move, or was he still in good condition? It seemed safest to hear her assessment first, "May I stand up now?"
The nurse listens intently as Krory begins to speak, and smiles gently as she realizes he’s fallen asleep instead, seemingly so much more peaceful than before. It filled her heart with such relief that she was almost in tears, knowing that after a week of being helpless to do anything for him, seeing him chained like an animal, she was finally able to free him and offer him some peace.
She takes his bruised wrist and lifts it to her cheek for a moment before giving it a light kiss. She then gazes affectionately at his sleeping face and lightly brushes aside his white hair out of his eyes, kissing his forehead. "Sweet Krory…" she says as she continues to rock him, making sure he’s out for the rest of the night. She rests her cheek against the top of his head and whispers, knowing he can’t hear her "thank you… thank you for waking up and letting me help you. When you suffer it breaks my heart…" and single tear falls from her face and lands on his chest.

He leaned against her, listening thoughtfully to the sound of her voice raised in song. He did feel tired, in a disconnected, confusing way, but it didn't seem as pressing as it had earlier. He felt an urgent need to be brought back up to speed.
"Miss Erica," he started, but then found he wasn't sure what to ask first, and so he stopped to think on his words and did not speak again. His eyelids grew heavy and he was so comfortable now, in the presence of a human being, freed from the chains, and he fell into a deep and natural sleep.
She smiles warmly. "De aru, de aru" she teases gently and touches the tip of his nose. "Don't you worry about that. You just get better... you look so tired..." She moves and sits herself on the bed slowly and gently helps him to lie down as she cradles his upper body in her arms. She strokes his hair gently "Now close your eyes..." she says with a warmth in her voice that almost seemed to make his eyelids heavier. She begins to sing softly and rock him like a child.
#hHHHH curse essays and such terrible things that require revisions#i was going to have him ask about the gingerbread but idk! maybe in the morning?

He shook his head, trying to raise a hand in protest. "It's not a problem, de aru! Shouldn't I apologize to you, Miss Erica? Clearly you've taken good care of me, and that's why I can be awake now... at home, de aru." He gathered what strength he had into what he hoped was a proper smile. He felt still all over, and a certain tiredness lingered behind it all. "I'm truly grateful to you."
When she took out the key, though, he was startled again. "I don't mean to get you in trouble!" But all the same, when the chains fell away, he sat up, stretched out his arms, and held as still as he could as she applied something to the sorest parts of his wrist. "Thank you again," he said softly, biting his lower lip as the sores stung slightly. "Thank you for everything." His voice wavered slightly as the weight of being alive, being home, hit him, and an overwhelming sense of relief to be home, to see another living human being, and a pretty one at that. "Is there anything I could say to the head nurse to keep her from being upset with you, de aru?"
"No, Sweetie, you haven't hurt anybody but yourself." She says, gently stroking his hair, then she suddenly stops herself. "I-.. I'm sorry if I'm being too familiar with you. It's true, I've been looking after you all this time, but you don't really know me, do you." She remembered his nightmares, the screams and the tears. She remembered him calling for someone called Eliade, with the sound of a deep, empty loneliness in his voice as he tried to kiss the vacant air, and the night when she silently kissed him back...
She looked down at his chains and grasped at something around her neck, pulling the necklace with a key out of her dress. "The head nurse may yell at me, but I can't just leave you chained like this. Let me help you..." And with that, she stuck the key in the padlock and the tension on his arms fell away with a loud clatter on the floor. She immediately pulled a little vile out of her apron pocket and began to rub soothing oils on his wrists that smells like wild oranges and peppermint.

"So, everyone else... is safe?" He gave a small sigh of relief and closed his eyes as a wave of tired contentment washed over him. At her small kiss he looked up in slight surprise and came to another train of thought. "Then you have been here with me for nearly a week, then? And d-did I hurt anyone, de aru?" Unease furrowed his forehead, but when she mentioned Lavi's antics, he smiled to imagine it.
"I've never tasted gingerbread before," he murmured, . "I'd love some." His stomach did feel quite empty, but for now, he felt at peace and knew he was safe, and whether it was a dream or not he could find out, like Erica had told him, in the morning.
"You... you were having nightmares, I suppose. You came to us in the worst shape of all the exorcists by far. Everyone else was well-recovered more than five days ago. We've done our best to tend to your wounds, but as I said, in your sleep you would have fits and tear at the stitches and bandages. The head nurse finally ordered the staff to chain you down. I'm so sorry... you must be so frightened..." She leans up and kisses his forehead. "But don't worry... I've got you. I'll be right here with you until morning."
She turns to the night stand "You might be happy to know Lavi was here complaining about how loud your stomach was growling. Said it was driving him crazy. I wasn't sure when you'd be awake, so this isn't the hot meal I'd like to offer you, but here.. I made gingerbread. Would you like some?" She strokes his hair gently, nearly in tears herself just looking into his eyes.

A voice broke through the humming of the lights overhead. Krory repressed a flinch when an unfamiliar voice came from out of his field of vision.
"Wh-who...?" A young woman approached, her face unfamiliar but her even tone of voice calming for his nerves. Her apron, her dress, even those light fixtures... they were all familiar. And hadn't she said that she wais nurse? Surely that meant...
"The Order? Am I back in the Order, de aru?" he murmured in bewilderment. How had he come so far without any memory of it? When her hand touched his, he gave a small start and gave a small squeeze of his own. She's... warm. A human touch.
"Erica, was it? What... stitches? What straps?" If she hadn't spoken so soothingly, he would probably have dissolved into helpless tears, but for someone so confused, he was feeling rather safe for someone chained to their bed. Rather safe, but not completely. Was he breaking down, somehow even worse than when he'd lost control of his own hunger before he learned to control his Innocence? "Can you tell me... what's happening to me, de aru?"
Nurse Erica was working the night shift in the infirmary when she thought she heard a rustling sound. She stopped, knowing the only two people in the room were an unconscious Arystar Krory, and herself. When she heard a voice, she dropped her tray, grabbed a candle, and ran to see.
"Krory-san! You're awake! Everyone will be so glad-" but she stopped herself as she noticed a glistening under his eyes. "A-.. are you-" she was certain he was crying, but she stopped mid sentance, not meaning to embarrass him. Her voice softened and she walked over and knelt by the head of his bed. "Hey... everything's ok. You're home. Don't be frightened. My name is Erica, I'm your nurse, I've been looking after you." She took his hand and squeezed it gently and heard the chains rattle. "Oh you poor thing! They did that for your own protection. You were clawing at your stitches, and you broke through the standard leather straps." She reached up and stroked his cheek gently with the back of her fingers. "But now that you're up, I'm sure the head nurse will allow me to release you as soon as its morning." She looked out the window, seeing it still pitch black. "Until then..." she said, looking back at Krory and drying his tears. She squeezed his hand again. I'll stay right here beside you. I promise.

Waking up involved so much more than just opening his eyes. For so long everything had been distant voices and movements, fuzzy and unclear and beyond his reach, and in a way, nothing changed. Instead, like he was swimming up from the bottom of that lake again, he felt like a pressure on him was lessening, a tightness in his chest relieved.
Krory's first conscious breath stung his throat, but the cooled air seemed to flush something heavy out of his systems. His initial instinct was to focus on his breathing, forcing a pattern of in and out, in and out, until it no longer felt so strange. The fuzziness in his thoughts had cleared somewhat, and he was dimly aware that he was resting against a pillow and that he had not yet opened his eyes.
I was... I was... he struggled to think coherently. The realization that he could neither form a sentence nor remember anything beyond his sense of self brought on a panicked urgency. His body gave a massive twitch as it tried to coordinate the movement of rolling over, but while the movement failed, memories came rushing in. "Twins," he rasped aloud, "Noah. I was fighting..." But wasn't he in a bed? Something was wrong. "Allen! Lavi!" he cried out, lost with nothing but the pillowcase in view. Where in the world was he?
#i may have misinterpreted you slightly and am pretending the komuvitan d arc didn't happen?#I think waking up from the infection and waking up from his 'sleep' would be two different scenarios#themightylin

OOC Name: Ally, Swny, and Krory is still fine OOC ouo
OOC Age: 16
How Long have you been RPing?: 2 years overall, and... uh... a year as Krory? Techically?
Time Zone?: EST
Characters you play on Tumblr: Krory, myself (SHH)
OTP's: KroryxEliade
Favourite Genres to RP: I'm good with anything.
Strengths as an RP’er: Lurking, unfortunately.
Weaknesses as an RP’er: Time management OOC which leads to inactivity. I think I am cheating these questions.
Your Ideal RP Partner(s): Uh, I suppose someone who is fairly flexible in general, but will maintain literacy. I don't mind anything specific much. I prefer paragraph and third person RPing, but I'm also kind of flexible when it comes down to things. Probably mostly someone who will slap me around when I keep replying slowly and define a plot line for my uncreative self to follow.
What was your first character?: I... I can't recall her name. Aze... Aze-something. I joined a forum escape RP for the hell of it because I was in seventh grade and had nothing better to do with my time. She was... annoying. But she was my first. uvu
What is your most recently created/RP’d character?: Well, Krory's the only roleplaying I've done recently. Last one I made was Lain Collins, for a demon-human interactive multiperson RP thread. I think I fell in love with all my ideas for him, and forcibly cut myself off from him and my plotting his backstory.
Favourite Characters: Krory and Lain, doki doki. I never had a chance to play Krory's crueler side more, so I tried to amplify that in Lain.
How did you get into Rp’ing?: Answered above.
Longest RP: Probably the one with Lain. Whoever I was talking to would usually dominate the thread completely for a while, and then I'd talk to someone else and we would start to drown everyone else out ;w;
Improvements/Goals as an RP’er: To learn to write well and in the moment, to not leave people hanging, to learn to make friends again, and to feel comfortable with my own instinctive first replies. ;u;

Krory kept his gaze leveled with the muzzle of the pistol, a nonchalant look carefully over his face, a wordless dare for the boy to fire. His nerves jangled with every tiny click, but he held himself still, watching for any sign of outright aggression. The kid hadn't been hard to read last time, but something felt different. It was hard to put a finger on it-- the arrogance? But that didn't seem to be any different...
"Or just someone stronger than you'd expected," he retorted, a smirk beginning to curl the corners of his own lips. The boy's entire arm looked... distorted, yes, distorted would be the word for it. It wasn't normal to say at the least, and he had the strangest sensation that he recognized the mutilation.
Something in the Noah's voice set his heart suddenly racing, his senses hyperalert. The boy sounded near deranged-- not that he had ever made any sense-- and infuriated, and most importantly, he sounded dangerous. When the bullet was fired, Krory was slow to start, still sluggish from inaction, but in two heartbeats, he was charging to the side, and then forward intending to close in on the boy from an indirectly elliptical path, hopefully avoiding any future projectiles. As it was, the whistle of the first bullet had been too close for comfort.
A wicked smirk pulled at his lips, chin lifting in a near, almight manner as he fingered the golden barel of his gun, toying with it, clicking the mechanism as if threatening to shoot it at any given moment. The Noah, with equally golden hues, sharpened upon the Exorcist, his own teeth bared in a white drin of contempt as if he was already seeking his demise. “— You sure about that, Monster?! Only a fiend like you would feed on the blood of Akuma, or is capable of surviving that coffin!” A finger of accusation was pointed towards the taller man, arms still fresh with wounds from their last encounter throbbing at the mere sight of the man. Golden sights widened with a madenned anger, cackles filling the air once more as he angled his head, his mane of dark hair shifting with the casual movement. “— Wouldn’t you like to know, teme!” he sneered, pulling the trigger as a bullet was shot out. [ NOTE: Because I only play Debitto and not Jasdero as well, I’ve modefied Debitto’s ability, just slightly. He’s still able to use the special bullets but the attacks are not as powerful. ]
#It's totally fine! ;u;)/#OH GOD BEST OF LUCK TO YOU#Mine was last week so I'm actually getting used to doing homework again myself OTL#sob stupid homework#also @the note - noted and kept in mind ovo)/

It was easy to see that the issue weighed heavily on the girl's mind. He put a smile on for her, not sure how else to cheer her up. He patted her on the shoulder, remembering that not a lot of people ever enjoyed a touch to the head.
"He's just keeping an eye out for you, probably, de aru. How long has it been since you went out?"
Aylen cocked her head. She didn’t know much about the Inspectors. Around the Order, people weren’t her specialty.
“Ah, well..you know..”
As Krory sighed, Aylen’s curiosity grew. Yes, missions were time consuming and tiring, but wasn’t it better than being cooped up around the Order? From the battle’s Aylen once experience, she would have to say so. But perhaps not everyone agreed.
”..Er..Just kinda disappointed Komui won’t let me go out…That’s all..”

"I-is that really okay, de aru?" He gaped, not quite sure what a magic anon was, but it certainly sounded a lot like the Supervisor. "Does... does it hurt or bother you?"
She looked at the man, he made her feel like a midget, maybe this is one of the few humans she is searching. “Liana is just fine” She smiles, wiggling her tail. “And, i’m kind of here looking for some company”

yogi--beaar started following you
This was an entirely unfamiliar face. He didn't seem to be a Noah or akuma.
"Hello, there," he called to the stranger, a questioning lilt to his words.

Through the kid's entire little gigglefit, Krory only narrowed his eyes and clenched his jaw, staring straight back into those golden eyes with a steady gaze. There was only one this time, he noted, but this one still had one of those confounded pistols. The others still hadn't quite figured out how they worked, but he was fairly certain he knew what that gun might do.
He bared his fangs slightly as the boy approached and made a small sound of annoyance. "I'm still no vampire. Or have you already forgotten your lesson?"
The other one's absence was a bit unnerving. It was never an advantage not knowing where anyone was. He couldn't sense anything wrong, but the Noah's second statement was... curious. Did it have something do with that one's absence?
"Where's the other one?"
Slowly a huge smirk pulled at grey lips, pearly whites shown in contrast to dark skin. Golden gun drawn and pointed towards the Exorcist, small giggles were emitted as the pistol clicked with each pull of the trigger, the empty barrel revolving repeatedly. “Look who it is ~ That vampire freak Exorcist.” The sneer left his lips smoothly, a small sing-song added to the tune as he hopped down from his perch, folded legs unwinding as booted feet hit the ground. Taking slow, cautious step forward, weaponary still focused on the bi-colored-haired Exorccist, Debitto allowed his golden hues to narrow. “I h’ve a bone t’ pick with ya’.”

He had been about to reply when he caught sight of the wagging tail behind the girl before him. He failed to check his surprise and pointed down in confusion. "Do you have... a tail, Mi... Liana?"
She looked at the man, he made her feel like a midget, maybe this is one of the few humans she is searching. “Liana is just fine” She smiles, wiggling her tail. “And, i’m kind of here looking for some company”

debitto-no-danna started following you
Krory was instantly on edge at the sight of the scrawny Noah boy. That was a face he'd rather not be seeing again.
"Brat," he acknowledged curtly, eyes fixed warily on the boy. His Innocence had been activated without a second thought upon recognition.

"Well, as your friend, you don't need to, then!" he reasoned, barely remember to keep an echoing laugh from his voice. He wrinkled his nose a bit with thought. "You can leave saluting for the Inspectors and such, though."
He sighed lightly when she mentioned missions. Sometimes things felt high-strung with everyone so busy, but with Aylen and her high spirits right in front of him, it was easy for forget that. Even when she pouted, he knew for once that she wasn't completely put off by a thought, though it was certainly giving her food for thought. "Is something the matter, de aru?"
The teen’s smile always drew a smile to Krory’s face as well. He couldn’t help but grin as he replied.
“No need to salute me, Aylen! Things have been decent, not much trouble. How have things been here at home?”

“Hello, Krory!”
Aylen smiled brightly, saluting the senior exorcist - one of the few people around the Order who’d been kind to her. “How have you been?”
