This is my Nemo post ending of the book song :)

After he comes down from the rush of rage and pain in the last chapters he has time to take in the fact that Pierre is gone and it absolutely eats him :)

This is actually THE Pierre song.

Never being able to let go of Nemo. Always coming back to the shore again to look for any oh so small sign of the Nautilus.

His friends are concerned because it seems like he truly isnt ever present in reality, always somewhere else with his head.

Pierre knows he saw a side of Nemo in that last night he was never meant to see. Or maybe he was. Maybe it was a sign for him to let go. But he can't get the Captain out of his head. He's present deep under Pierre's skin and, reunited or not, that will never change. He has become a core part of the Professors life.

Thoughts I have about Pierre post-Nautilus

(Not at all a writer I apologise in advance lol)

When he returns to France he almost immediately goes back to work. Of course only after convincing everyone that he is, in fact, himself and not an impersonater. He was gone for nearly a year after all.

He doesn't employ Conseil anymore. Instead he encourages him to go back to Canada with Ned Land. They write each other often.

He becomes known as a recluse somewhat. His colleagues believe he must have lost his mind while he was lost at sea.

However his knowledge is so much bigger than anyone's at the museum they just quietly deal with it.

He's not unfriendly he just has no interest in the people around him anymore. His colleagues low key hate him.

BUT. He gives guest lectures at universities occasionally and the students absolutely adore him?? Its because he talks about marine life with such passion.

He almost never leaves his office before midnight and often also sleeps there. His apartment doesn't really feel like home anymore.

Eventually he decides to move. He buys a small property by the shore. He becomes even more antisocial after this and doesn't really interact with his colleagues at all.

What he does do is write. Like his life depends on it. He is obsessed with collecting and preserving all the knowledge about nautical life he gained on the Nautilus.

His bedroom and office room are COVERED in sea maps. The route he travelled is marked on them. Places he knows Nemo values are marked as well.

He spends a lot of his night time just sitting and staring at the ocean.

He obsessively reads the newspaper to see if there's reports of anything that may be the Nautilus.

He keeps trying to remind himself that Nemo is crazy and dangerous but the longer he's away from him the more infatuated he becomes.

He gets obsessed with languages trying to figure out what the language was that Nemo spoke.

Conseil is always very concerned and not at all happy that Pierre keeps telling him he doesn't want him and Ned to visit.

At some point he buys a small boat. Now he stares at the sea while he is on sea.

Vaguest bitch ever if you ask him a question you will get an answer so useless it poses more questions.

Eventually plans out a long trip along the coasts of as many countries he can possibly reach.

Maybe I add more eventually lol for now have that :)
