I also feel like this scene at the end when Buck hands Eddie the beer and Eddie has this whole look☝️ was a call back to the whole juice thing. This whole scene is where we're finally seeing Eddie start to choose himself and choose joy and as soon as he does Buck is the one who shows up. Eddie takes the beer and then takes his rightful place by Buck's side.

My headcanon has always been that Eddie has had some kind of idea he's gay and that he has feelings for Buck. Look at the scene with the will. It's just always felt like a love confession in the only way Eddie was able to say it then. I think the talk with the priest and this scene is the beginning of Eddie starting to accept himself for who is and allowing himself to reach for the things he truly wants without always putting everyone else first or being afraid of the consequences.

one thing is that like, eddie is not shy about sex. he knows hes sexy, he knows how to make it good, and it lets him avoid talking about his feelings. so when he finally admits that he wants buck, hes not going to be like nervous or unsure, he is going to throw himself into the deep end with a smile on his face and buck wont know what hit him. hes gonna be like "eddie you've never been with a man before i dont want to make you go too fast" and eddie is going to be like "shut up and take off your pants" and then in natural eddie fashion he is going to be perfect at everything immediately and buck will cry and also come in under a minute

Not to say Buck didnt immediately become a blushing pile of goo when Eddie gave him that first compliment, but the words alone wouldn't have been enough to break his hostility

Eddie offers him such trust during the grenade call, Buck says he's in and Eddie doesn't question or object to this, despite the fact this is an extremely high pressure situation and Buck has been nothing but hostile till this point. Any attempts from Buck to show off or be the hero would actively endanger them.

Except that the morning after, exactly as Eddie is about to leave the loft to go pick up Chris, he pauses his movements and makes a beeline for the kitchen, surprising Buck who thought he’d be leaving.

Eddie shakes his head, and then extracts something from his back pocket.

It’s the Polaroid they’d been given at the restaurant. Eddie goes and pins it to the fridge under a magnet. “For Cash,” he says, winking, and pointedly sticking the magnet on the cool steel door with a loud pop.

“Bye, Buck.”

He’s out of the loft before Buck can even begin to register what the hell happened.

With wide eyes he keeps looking at the photo, now stuck on his fridge, and still finds it hard to believe that Eddie could actually be jealous of him but he has to accept that it’s now a thought that he must entertain.

What other explanation could possibly justify Eddie’s actions?
