Top 6 Things to Do if Injured in an Auto Accident
Almost any car accident is a traumatic event. From catastrophic collisions to fender-benders, there is a lot of force involved when a vehicle hits (or is hit by) something. Often, when people are in a car accident that seems minor, they do not notice any injury symptoms right away. This happens for a variety of reasons. In this article, we'll help you understand the top 6 things to do if injured in an auto accident -- for your physical well-being and to protect your legal rights.
1. Seek Medical Attention
See a doctor immediately. Although you may feel fine now or think your injuries aren’t very serious, symptoms such as the following can appear days/weeks after the accident:
Pain.
Discomfort.
Dizziness.
Numbness.
Getting medical attention quickly isn’t just the best thing for your health; but it will also strengthen your personal injury case if it becomes necessary to obtain legal counsel.
If you wait several days or weeks after the accident to seek medical attention, it will be much harder to prove that your injuries were the result of the car crash.
2.Photos of Your Injuries
Ask a friend to take pictures of your injuries if they are notable.
If you have trouble getting a settlement from the insurance company or you decide to hire a personal injury attorney, photos will be valuable evidence for your case.
3. Keep Track of Your Medical Treatment
Note any doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, or other medical professionals that you receive treatment from, and each medical provider that referred you to other caregivers. Keep a detailed account of the treatments or medications you receive. Also, request copies of all medical reports and bills as these help you prove your medical expenses later.
Medical expenses are relatively easy to document, but pain and suffering may be more difficult to prove. Keep a record of how your injuries have impacted your daily life. Include any missed workdays, list any routine activities you can’t undertake, and describe how the injuries have affected your family life.
4. Consider Hiring a Personal Injury Attorney
Personal Injury attorneys are experienced in dealing with these claims and can help you understand your rights and get you the proper compensation that you are entitled to receive. In the event that you have a dispute over your claim, an attorney can be a valuable asset if you end up in mediation or in court.
If anyone was injured in the accident, it’s best to consult an experienced attorney. An attorney can help you maximize your recovery if you’re injured or better defend yourself if you’re at fault. Many Accident or Personal Injury Attorneys work on a contingency fee basis. That means that your lawyer only receives a fee if you’re awarded damages or receive a settlement.
5. Use Caution in Discussing the Incident
Don’t talk to anyone about the accident other than your lawyer, your insurance company, and the police. Don’t talk to a representative of another insurance company, without the knowledge of your attorney or insurer. If called by the other insurance company, be polite, but ask them to call your attorney or insurer to arrange an interview. Also, tell your lawyer or insurer about the call.
6. Be Wary of Early Settlement Offers
Be careful if you’re offered a settlement from an insurance company. Confirm all your physical injuries have been treated. Some injuries don’t show up or reach their greatest level of discomfort until many days, weeks, or months later. Don’t settle a claim until you know you’ll be compensated for all your injuries, and you may want to consult an attorney before signing any settlement documents.

10 Important Facts About Knee Replacement Surgery
Knee replacement surgery is a common procedure for senior citizens, and the most common age or patients needing this is 69 years old. Women are slightly more susceptible to needing this procedure than men.
Being fit and healthy helps to reduce the chance of surgery but some fitness fanatics will still require surgery. Actress Jane Fonda had knee replacement surgery a few years ago, as did Liza Minnelli and tennis legend Billie Jean King. Both of them have resumed healthy, active lives.
During total knee replacement surgery the lateral and medial compartments are replaced and the patella may be resurfaced if deemed necessary
We don’t think much about our knees until they start to give us trouble. They are subjected to a lot of wear and tear throughout our lives so it’s not surprising that knee replacement surgery is one of the most common orthopaedic procedures.

To this date there have been 1.8 million injuries to people involved in car accidents in the United States in 2017.
While car accident injuries can vary from person to person and from crash to crash, there are some fairly common ones. Below are some of the most common injuries related to car accidents:
Head and Back Injuries
Back injuries are common in relation to car accidents. Any damage to the spinal cord can cause signicant nerve damage. Sensation of and control over the arms, hands, legs, feet, and other body parts may be aected by patients. More serious forms of spinal damage can leave patients permanently paralyzed. Another common injury is a herniated disk. Typically less severe than spinal damage or head injuries, however it can still cause signicant problems. Numb or tingling sensations, muscle weakness, and arm or leg pain are often experienced by patients.
Drivers and passengers involved in high-speed collisions can strike their heads against steering wheels, dashboards, or windows. This may cause brain injuries, ranging from mild concussions to comas and lasting cognitive problems. Often extensive medical treatment and long-term medical care are required after such injuries. Head injuries can also lead to skull fractures, hearing loss, and vision problems. Head injuries are among the most serious car accident injuries.
Neck and Chest Injuries
Many serious injuries are related to trauma aecting the chest area. People with heart problems can go into traumatic cardiac arrest from an accident. Blunt force trauma from car accidents can cause broken ribs and even collapsed lungs. Internal bleeding in the chest area can be an immediate problem following a car accident. Damage to internal organs, the pelvis, and the abdomen can also occur. These injuries require immediate medical attention.
One of the most well known car accident injury is whiplash. A sudden jerk or movement of the head and neck can cause serious neck muscle and ligament damage (such as from a rear-end collision). These injuries can differ from individual to individual, depending on the accident and the health of the person/people involved. General pain and swelling in the neck is also fairly usual. Temporary vocal cord paralysis after a car accident has also been reported.
Other Injuries
Injuries to the arms, legs, hands and feet can occur. Pedestrians can see leg and foot damages in addition to all those mentioned above. Motorcyclists can suer signicantly more numerous injuries that are often more serious. Broken bones, ligament damage such as a torn ACL, and even severed limbs are some of the injuries that may happen.
Emotional distress following a car accident is also a factor. Serious crashes can leave emotional scars on those who suered serious injuries as well as witnesses to the accident. Treatment can include counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder and similar psychological injuries.

Introducing Dr. John Laura, D.O.
Not all Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine doctors are EQUAL!
Many people suffer from pain caused by conditions such as arthritis, sports injuries, traumatic injury, and other degenerative disorders related to age or overuse. Traditional surgical options are costly, invasive, require painful lengths of downtown - and many patients claim they never fully return to their original healthy state of mobility and use. While there are three accessible sources of autologous adult stem cells in humans, Dr. John Laura prefers Adipose Tissue and Blood, as they are the least invasive and most potent sources for Stem Cells.
1. ADIPOSE TISSUE (FAT)
Requires extraction by liposuction, usually from the abdominal area through local anesthesia. This Autologous process involves the least risk and can yield more than 500 times the amount of stem cells per gram of fat when compared to aspirated bone marrow.
2. BLOOD CELLS
Requires extraction through pheresis, then the stem cells are extracted from the blood through a standard IV
3. BONE MARROW
While Bone Marrow is a third source, it requires extraction by drilling into the bone which requires invasive surgery and potentially long recovery and down time.
Dr. John Laura leverages the following four primary regenerative medical techniques, all which use your own Adipose Tissue or Blood in order to accelerate your body’s own ability to heal itself:
Micronized Fat Grafting Cellular Technology PRP Treatments Stem Cell Treatments

What Is Sciatica?
Tumblr media
Like a large river created by smaller streams, four or five pairs of nerves exit the spine in the lower back to form the two sciatic nerves. The soft pulpy disc between each spinal bone is often involved. While a disc can’t “slip,” it can bulge, herniate or rupture. This can put direct pressure on the nearby nerves.
The result? Swelling and inflammation. Depending on where the sciatic nerve is affected, the pain may also radiate down to the foot or toes.
Pain in the buttocks or leg that worsens when sitting
Burning or tingling down one or both legs
Weakness, numbness or difficulty using your leg or foot
A shooting pain that makes standing difficult
Back pain
Headaches
Therapeutic Laser
Massage therapy
Myofascial and Active Release
Cranial and craniosacral therapy
Ultrasound with and without electrical stimulation
Interferential electrical muscle stimulation
Microamperage neural stimulation
Mechanical traction
Exercise with Oxygen Therapy
Diathermy
Moist heat therapy
Spinal Decompression
Kinesiology Taping
Neuropathy Treatment
